Why would I watch this movie? It is made for niggers and nigger fuckers. I don't have a nigger fetish. I find them repulsive.

>"nah trust us bro there were TONS of niggers in the Odyssey"
oh ok
>>
>>535112441
Looks like ass compared to his other "what the fuck is going on" films. Race of the cast aside, what really grinds my gears is the vocabulary choice for lines. The use of modern sentence structure (use of contractions, modern phrases, etc) and word choice feels terrible.
>"you're just mad your daddy isn't coming back" in ancient Greece instead of something like "you seem displeased with the notion that your father is not returning"

Odyssey is probably one of the only accurate historical documents, a lot of stuff like roman empires are just phantom copies of the Byzantine empire

also consider if a lot of pliny the elder shit is one of the only accurate historical documents

>The use of modern sentence structure (use of contractions, modern phrases, etc) and word choice feels terrible.
I disagree, follow this logic and they should all be speaking Greek. No dialogue would be authentic, it just comes down to the tone you want and I don't think it necessarily needs to be elevated in that way. Ultimately it's a taste thing
>>
> comes the latest online onslaught against an anticipated Hollywood project that committed the unfathomable sin of having a diverse cast.

mhmmm. Yet these same people rail on a cast that has the unfathomable sin of being white. A sin, which by the way, is why there are blacks shoehorned into playing historically white characters for no other reason than: Whites bad.

Lupita ngyohongyo or whatever the fuck that niggers name is should have never been helen. If they made her Odysseus wife or the main siren it wpuld be okay, its just ridiculous to posit that poodle nigger as some pinnacle of beauty.
Even for a nigger she is very mid, plenty of niggers are hotter than her.
>>
>>535115326
it had fun ideas cool sets it tried to belnd scope with the origional format in a way

(trapped in confined yada yada) balanced with galactic impotess

the cyborg has some issues but its well acted well executed

what about it is mid
its not really scary i guess
and its not really interesting

its abit action heavy and horror light while at the sametime thematically heavy and simultaniously mystery and information light

(why are the engineers here what are they doing ect ect) should be mystery heavy but the real mystery is how do they turn into aliens kek

id have to rewatch it ngl but i never thought it was that bad its an odd angle for sure but its a suspense filled action flick with mystery elements and plays into the larger universe (somewhere kek)

i think its solid

>>535112966
It’s supposed to be a classic epic, not a low class capeshit comic book story for seven year olds dorks. The tone is inappropriate. The funny thing is that Nolan hammed it up with tryhard serious dialogue for batnigger retard cape trash, but now when he gets his hands on a real story he does this shit. What a fucking idiot.
>>
>>535115624
ofc i didnt know lmao why the fuck would i know that

yea i mean theese are wild swings maybe it will be oscar worthy but that sounds truely insane maybe he didnt want to direct it so decided to just sabatage the ip so they sell it or something

what the fuck so odd
>>
Its going to suck
The den of the lotus eaters will suck
Odysseus return and slow burn return he to his actual home will be gay and rushed.
Those are my favourite parts of the story and I know they will just be fucked over. His return will get the scouring of the shire treatment as in totally not included in the film. 100% will have him come ashore and straight to his home. So gay.

You know what? Black Helen makes sense, narratively.
There's the duality of Helen Vs Penelope (Anne Hathaway), they're cousins, they're both Spartan princesses, but they represent wildly different aspects and values of greek life.
Having them with starkly different, dark black and pale white, skin colours (and not a Mediterranean tan) makes it allegorical and not about race.
>But Helen was the pretty one
Penelope was a beauty too, and smart on top of that, AND she'll have more screen time. She's the white one.

That's stupid. Women are always portrayed as being pale white in greek epics, because they stay inside. Men are referred to as brown.

She's literally called White armed Helen, and that's always the case with beautiful women. White armed Athena, White armed Aphrodite, etc.
>>
>>535115921
lol i refuse to belive this is true maybe its only achilies as a child?

that could maybe make sense 6 year old achilies kind of makes sense
>>
>>535116094
That's artistic license. Or autistic, it's Nolan.
Having both of them white as snow would be more faithful to the original material, but the director apparently doesn't care for that.
He went for the allegory, let's see how he does it. It could be a better approach than pure adherence to the material, we've already had many Odyssey movies done like that, this one tries something different... I'm not saying that's a good thing, but to wait and see how he does it before judging.
Now he can't use being faithful to the material or historical arguments for directorial decisions, he has to go all the way (otherwise black Helen becomes a wtf moment), it could be something special
>>
>>535115553
>Accurate story
>Giant horse trap

that would be a "logical approach" the extrapolation of conservatism is not a reduction to recreation

if you want to conserve the ethos of something that is very different from delineating a direct reconstruction

logically if we follow your idea the extrapolation does not end at greek it ends in an ampetheatre with an old guy talking to an audience about one of the best stories ever told.....

your logic is wrong at best

I thought that was a joke. Achilles wasn’t like a hulking body builder, but he was certainly built like a man. Are the really casting page as Achilles? That’s just obnoxious.

Between that and casting page as Achilles you can be sure that this is to both provoke and stir up controversy. They know that can only produce turd bombs these days and they rely on the tickets they will sell by charging this production with sociopolitical overtones. They’re counting on the rejects, the hall monitor/reddit/drama club types, to turn the viewership of this film into a political statement. Elon is playing along with it. He’s playing the villain, in a meta drama. The film is a subplot of this meta drama. The vile, degenerate, child raping, Satan worshipping Hollywood types are playing the “good guys”.
It’s all so fucking lake I want to wretch.
Fade all of this shit.
“Reality” is the production, and it’s a stink bomb. It’s a ridiculous farce.

I thought so too. I heard about it, but I honestly thought they were joking. I don’t give a fuck because I don’t give fucks about shit like this. All it shows is how desperate Hollywood is to stay relevant. It is so pathetic and pandering. It’s an obvious ploy to stir up controversy to make the Reddit dweebs feel obliged to buy a ticket and btfo Trump and Elon. It’s all so lame. Someone make it stop.
