This is true.I had gotten laid off and was applying everywhere, no call backs. Lasted about a month and then the owner @ the place I got laid off from referred me and I was basically hired on the spot just from the referral at twice the pay I'd been working at. And at my new job too the networking concept 100% proven out, because several clients we have are the same way. WOrd of mouth, or friends of friends situation. Only way to success is to first define it. Success is like love it means something different to everyone. Goals, those are defined. Shoot for goals. One of the crucial things to get a handle on very early in life is emotional quotient. If you do not have a parent to stop childhood psychopathy of wanting your way right away whenever you demand it, you will have a much harder time meeting goals because you will just be living emotionally from chaos to chaos you create just to watch people respond to it. There are exceptions where psychopathy is useful in corporate but that's mostly propaganda to give you an excuse to never get ahold of yourself. Pick up your toys no whining it's just part of life respecting your space. Very very early lesson. But babies are cute so they get away with murder and by the time you want them to start becoming independent they have been your marionette for a decade or more. So you give in because it's least resistance and he's 35 and yelling in your face threatening you to make him smammich or die. You gave birth to your own demise. But you here now, you can get ahold of yourself and strive for steps within goals. Don't reward yourself for doing normal shit. There is no reward. You set steps to goal attainment, stay adaptable to the overall goal as life changes, and just achieve the steps. Success to one may be a bicycle they can ride to the bus stop, successfully attach to the rack on the front of bus quickly, ride bus to train and push bike onto train to ride bike to destination. To another it may be a fleet of exotic cars. To others it might be a crust of bread. Goals and discipline to stay focused on the steps without letting emotion rule you. Western humans struggle with that the most.
