If you disagree, you are economically illiterate. Automation enhances productivity, reshapes the comparative advantage for the displaced workers, but overall leads to widespread prosperity. Every argument against automation and A.I can be made against the use of tractors, afterall, 90% of the population used to work on farms. Most of those jobs have been AUTOMATED.
It's good for society in the aggregate but not for individuals replaced by it. Hope that helps. Of course nobody will be for something that is going to leave him jobless
>>535114178You would be, so would I.I literally lost my job to A.I and I don't care because it will enhance productivity and my next job will have a higher real wage.
the LLMs are about to start training themselves and have exponential growth and then we'll have real ai and it will make real automationjust needs another hundred billion dollars
>>535114101Factory I work at bought about $4 million in automated fanuc bots, laid off 6 guys, hired 2 H1B Indian ‘engineers’ to baby sit the bots, so no, automation is not a good thing
>>535114686I get the jobs angle but its objectively a good thing. Increasing productivity and lowering production costs is what improves society. Thats what the west is based on, which increases the tide for all. By contrast communist countries like Cuba banned automation/innovation to preserve grunt jobs and all it did was stiffle investment while the country circled the drain to what is is today
