i'm probably going to go to my next county meeting. there currently aren't any data centers planned for my area, but i think i'm going to try and nip it in the bud.

Some but lots more are coming. All we have now are shit warehouses so data centers sound like muh tech jobs. For some reason lots of spics want to live somewhere with six months of winter with no sun so at least my house keeps going up
>>
>>535118812
It's all fake and the guy wants to cash in on the AI data center craze but is too late to the party.
>>
>>535118879
>>535119298
they also want to give data center tax breaks for 20+ years. Currently the breaks last five years. All oregon politicians need to hang theyre criminals, city councils, school boards, all of them.
>>
>>535118812
First off, yes. AI datacenters fuck up the local energy grid like nobody could imagine.
Second, this map shows ALL datacenters. Not just the AI kind. The AI kind are the ones that will hurt people's budget so thirdies can flood the web with slop. Regular datacenters are anything from local hosting of services like games, netflix, etc, to simple small operations where people rent out rack space.
t. ISP employee who knows this shit.
>>
>>535121583
And most are also very important hubs for the greater internet infrastructure. Communication interchanges and hubs.
So please don't take this map at face value.

I don't like the data centers because of how the rich posture about it. Black rocks CEO had a whole interview about how the people who might get upset at the data centers and retaliate are "domestic terrorists" and that they're working on "solutions" and "security systems" to stop these "domestic terrorists".

They make people angry though so there are people here who think they're infinitely based for that alongside AI. I guess that is where 2026 has taken us though. People defending black rocks investments

Only one. There were two data centers trying to open in my area. My facebook community group kept shilling for them as a great idea, for about a month (I didn't care). I posted several youtube videos and argue with some people for 2/3 days, before town hall hearings, about the possibility of utility prices going up (I just wanted to shit talk). I managed to convince people to show up to the town hall to protest the data centers, they were cancelled.
They tried doing the same shit in two neighborhood counties. I joined several neighborhood communities in those counties and did the same thing. My FB account was banned after their proposal failed there too.

>>535118812
I live in Loudoun County, Virginia, the highest concentration of data centers on earth. You wouldn't believe the ugliness that I see everyday.
>>
>>535122321
I don't even know what that is. or why you're so obssessed with it. Tell me.

How big does a data center have to be to get listed? Bigger than a Walmart?
>>
funny how they stop talking about global warming once they start building these ai data centers. shit ruins the earth and wastes insane amounts of water. and is impossible to live next too, this shit needs to be stopped
>>
>>535122598
In the Netherlands politicians are already trying to stop the build of additional datacenters.
But sometimes local city council members get a trip to America and then suddenly they allow the build of another one.
>>
Burn datacenters

I've told people elites know no party, no ideology, and no morality. Best to treat corporations and their human growths as animals or beasts in need of regulation and control.
>>
>>535122655
They say we are one of the least corrupt countries on earth. But here we have senators with 15 jobs and judges on the payroll of insurance companies. People who work at city hall being first on the list of to buy newly build houses. And even a party leader who got a house from the Canadian embassy. And once ministers quit end their politician careers they get hired by the companies they made rules about.

Yes but do you want CHYNA to get ahead? Do you?!?! What if the first AGI isnt American?!?!

i should clarify hillsboro wont be the biggest but its what will draw companies in to spend in the areas that have the "approved" land to rape. oregon love its visa workers too! great state to do tech business in...

It's already taken over. We now have over 200 data centers packed into the county with more than 100 more planned and/or under construction. They supposedly handle 70% of the world's internet traffic. Anybody who is concerned about data centers should come visit Loudoun County so you can get the grim on-the-ground picture of what is in store. You simply will not believe your eyes if you do. It's hard to overstate. The word that always comes to mind is omnipresent. They are everywhere. And not in isolation, because the county isn't that geographically big, so they're stacked on top of each other, one after another after another after another. It feels alien and you never get used to it. The strangest part about it is in addition to having the highest concentration of data centers, it's also the wealthiest county in America. These rich people have submersed themselves in dystopian ugliness. You'd think they'd want nature or some sort of high end corpo cyberpunk aesthetic, or anything but what we have, but despite their money it doesn't seem to matter what they want. They just keep getting built. And it's not just powerless rich people either, it's rich people with government jobs or defense industry jobs. They, you would think, have influence, but that doesn't seem to matter. It's very black pilling. If powerful and influential multi-millionaires can't stop data centers, who can?
>>
>>535118812
I kinda said that about windmills in germany, the local population has ZERO benefits from that.
And not even any benefits in some kinda of immediate way.
Perfect.

Data centers are good because AI will replace the office jobs that women, leftists and pajeets hold.
