Just how homogenous is the (east-)asian genepool?I know that some Japanese posters are going to post Ainu-looking Japanese or plastic surgery K-idols.But let us be honest, Japs who look Eurasian are very uncommon, probably just around 10% of Japan's population and K-pop guys generally had plastic surgery.Hence we can see those as statistical anomalies and move on.Even in "diverse" China, they generally look alike, with some uyghur muslims and tajiks having (slightly) different looks from the surrounding Chinese due to Arab admixture. Just a brown guy's perspective.

Turkic people are East Asian + North Asian + White. Mongols and Tungusic are East Asian + North Asian. Chinese + Korean + Tibetan are East Asian. Japanese are East Asian + Native Japanese. Southeast Asians are East Asian + Australoid (think Australian Aboriginals, Negrito people in the Philippines, Andaman Islanders, Indians) All of the East Asian groups are originally from China, but moved out and replaced/mixed with others. If they had never moved out, Chinese people would have far greater variation in appearance, but those additional variants wouldn’t be the same as their modern counterparts because most groups that migrated out also lost their original look due to mixing.If Koreans had never left China, they’d look the same as today, but Japanese would not become they mixed with the people already present on the Japanese Archipelago who were from earlier migrations and looked fundamentally different from our modern image of East Asians. Southeast Asians wouldn’t be as dark, and also likely somewhat taller, with different face shapes, because they also mixed with people that already lived in the region they migrated to. Example: Japanese people are descended from the Jomon and Yayoi. Jomon have been in Japan for a very long time, the Yayoi migrated from Korea, and their ancestors from China. People in Japan are a mix, but some areas have higher rates of one group than another. Also, even if you’re mixed you may have a face that is more similar to a stereotypical Jomon or Yayoi face. Here’s a photo to show what I mean. The Yayoi-looking person wouldn’t be out of place in Korea or China, but the Jomon man would easier fit in Iran or Afghanistan before China.

>>535122331It’s true, the Yayoi have been very successful, but you do sometimes see Japanese people with noses especially that are not stereotypically East Asian, and while almost all Japanese have large amounts of Yayoi admixture or are overwhelmingly and sometimes even effectively purely Yayoi, the reason people do actually have an easier time picking Japanese out of a crowd is because of the Jomon influence.

All Asians don’t look the same, Japs are more darker skinned than Han Chinese and Koreans. Han Chinese look different from Tibetan Chinese who are Burmese looking. Southern Chinese are the modern day Thais. Vietnamese are distinct people and so are Khmers (Cambodians). Then Malays and Indonesians are different. Philippines abd Indos have more Austronesians/Polynesian genes and Filipinos are basically Asian spics who are heavily mixed as well. Mongolians look totally different as well compared to them all.
