anyone can buy health insurance. it's why our taxes are lower. plus there has always been people gaming the system by buying insurance after they break their leg or something and then cancelling the insurance as soon as their leg is good.

either way, if you show up to a hospital without insurance they're going to treat you.

what happens if you dont pay? can they lien your property?
>>
>>535133682
>why our taxes are lower.
They really aren't , also the US spends most of its budget on healthcare and welfare, but somehow everything is still expensive
>>
>>535133682
What's funny is the first guy is talking about the NHS specifically preventing a family from seeking life saving care for their child.
>>
>>535133947
>what happens if you dont pay? can they lien your property?
poor americans dont have healthcare. migrants and rich americans do
>>
>>535133866
Correct, retard.
>>535133947
It's possible but very unlikely. They would have to sue you. Mostly you will just get spam contacted by debt collectors and your credit will fall.
>>535134015
Probably because we actually do have socialized healthcare, housing and food programs for our hundreds of millions of poverty stricken shitskins and white trash. The poors coast along in life, the rich thrive, and the middle class gets raped. It's called communism.
>>
>>535133947
>what happens if you dont pay? can they lien your property?
no. medical debts don't even hit your credit score.
>>
>>535133682
Jesse is right tho

This was in response to bong courts not allowing parents to bring their sick child to another country for healthcare.

People are retarded in general and easily convinced by emotional appeals, sophist rhetoric, and slogans. You can just lie to them and it hits the right emotion/ego note, then you convinced them of “truth”.
>>
>>535133682
This is a reference about going to the Vatican hospital which is run entirely on donations, not socialized healthcare.

Commies are really good at propaganda and optics
It’s why their dogshit ideology persists in the minds of midwits
>>
>>535133682
>what's this idea that americans 'don't have healthcare'?
It's like when you hear a woman repeat the "wage gap" line from 15 years ago, it's just a repeated truism (that isn't true but they believe it in a religious sense).
>>
>be sick in America
>have super expensive insurance
>go to doctor
>that will be 75 dollar copay pls and thank you
>wait forever

>he sort of shrugs, guesses what your problem is, and shoos you out of the office with a Rx
>no exam, no tests, no labs
>problem doesn't get better
>try another doctor
>same thing happens.

Health care in America FUCKING SUCKS.

Insurance is a scam that doesn't guarantee treatment
>>
>>535133682
My health insurance costs $103/month

It's really pretty cheap tbqh
>>
>>535133947
Yes. If you don't pay for their expensive chemotherapy that will likely kill you, they will stop all other treatment and then take your house so you can have cancer on the street.

Murica!

Not all states though. Mostly Republican states. Just being honest.
>>
>>535134585
Have you ever tried to use that so-called (((insurance))) for anything?

Yes, it does.

I pay $600 a month and I'm 38. I don't smoke or drink or do drugs so there's no reason it should be so expensive.

Still have to pay $3,000 to $7,500 before any procedure. $40 per visit.

GoodRx coupons save you more at the pharmacy then your own insurance does.

The entire industry is rotten and needs to be punished.
>>
>>535134150
they only HAVE to treat you if you're broke and about to die within like 500 feet of their property, to cover legal culpability and not get sued
if you've got cancer or something and not imminently about to die good fucking luck
>>
>>535134549
I had to make an appointment for my dad at a specialty clinic because the computer system was messed up and my dad has a common name. So I called the specialty clinic. The automated system asked some questions (like press 1 for appointments press 2 for new patient etc ) it asked "do you have health insurance press 1 for yes and 2 for no" and I fat fingered the 2 button by accident and the system automatically hung up on me.
>>
>>535134710
Yes my daughter had a 3 day stay in the hospital including an emergency room trip. Final bill was $2000, I called and said "that's high" and they lowered it to $1000.

So we're at $2200 for a year of healthcare, still cheaper than taxes we'd pay for universal coverage.
>>
>>535134768
For $600/mo you're insane to not self insure
>>
>our taxes are lower
But they are not, though, and we spend twice what Europeans do on healthcare. We have a Jew monopoly over whether we live well or die poorly and faggots like you think it's a free market.
>>
Jewish finger pecked this swill.
>Don't pay 2% of you income in taxes bro, just buy this insurance at 5% of your income from juden shekelstein so he can pay kikel Moshe for the use of the facilities & don't forget to give Dr. Epstein a tip with your co pay
Fucking retards and their money will soon be parted
>>
>>535134768
System working as intended to maximize owning nothing and being happy.
You're probably too young to remember the affordable insurance of the '90s that covered practically everything (like modern welfare insurance) and definitely too young to remember out-of-pocket healthcare being feasible.
>>
>>535135046
More like 20% of your income for insurance if you're single and make $20/hr, which puts you beyond the poverty line.
The deductibles would crush you if you had a serious or long-term illness anyways, so why bother?
>>
>>535134377
lets full stop here. USA healthcare is not freemaket capitalism in any way. Any defensive of it, is not a defense of capitalism, it is a state run oligarchy where companies are chosen by the government.
>>
>>535135780
Don't tell Americans that they are practicing communists. (It just pisses them off.)
>>
>>535133947
>what happens if you dont pay?
They negotiate down to what you are willing to pay. Remember that 90% of the price is just a massive markup meant as a stupid tax for people who're too dumb to do basic research and realize they can negotiate it down, and then the next 9% is bilking insurance providers, and the last 1% is what it actually costs.
>>
>>535136478
>the last 1% is what it actually costs.
About 10 years ago my wife had her appendix removed. We had cash, but no insurance. She told everyone she was cash pay. When she did, the price immediately dropped dramatically. The surgeon (including a couple follow up appointments) ended up costing $1000. CT scan, like $250. Anesthesiologist was $1200. (All the smaller bills worked like this.)

The hospital was a slightly different story. They billed her $28,000. One day, they called out of the blue. They said that if she paid today (and today only) they would settle the bill for $4,500. (She almost paid it.)

I explained to her that if they could settle the bill for $4,500 today (and today only) that they could also settle the bill for $4,500 next week just the same. They were playing some sort of game. So she waited...

About a week later she got a statement in the mail that said she owed nothing.

This attitude is so fucking stupid and ends up with people going to ERs for shit like strep throat and ER wait time turn into 8 hour waits. Medicaid expansion actually solved this shit because poorfags stopped going to the ER for everything shit a PCP could deal with. Cuckservatives are retards.

Nothing in the US is free-market capitalism. When you come to money in the US, you buy politicians and establish a monopoly. American politicians are cheap and perfectly legal to buy and sell.

If you want to see free-market capitalism, you find it in China. Cut-throat competition in all fields, with constant innvovation being the only way to stay relevant on the market. Bribing politicians is a capital crime there. In the US it's an integral part of the system. That's the difference, that's what makes the US weak and China strong.

>Take sick son to Italy for treatment
Wouldnt they just put him on a 6-18 month wait list for an open appointment?
>>
>>535133682
>it's another "Conservatives reference a real event that actually happened and leftists treat it like an insane hypothetical" thread
lmao. If only redditors didn't insist on censoring anybody who calls their cult out. Somebody could have told them that Alfie Evans was already in a country with socialist healthcare and the socialists in charge refused to let the parents take him to Italy for healthcare. The parents had to watch their son die because England doesn't have freedom.
>>
>>535137426
>This attitude is so fucking stupid...
I agree with you, anon. But... Going to the ER is the only way to get a medical issue taken care of today. (Instead of waiting several weeks or more to schedule an appointment so you can then go get that scan you need.) It's fucking retarded, yes, but it is a symptom of larger problems in the so-called healthcare system.
>>
>>535137615
>Nothing in the US is free-market capitalism.
The economic zone formerly known as America has been a (mostly) communist entity for more than 100+ years.

you don't understand anything about American politics or economics.
