Nissan, Toyota send letters to dealerships warning production cut by 45% price hikes imminent. Wal-mart & Costco warned to expect empty shelves by Mobil. https://nitter.poast.org/CostaKapo/status/2053948679485009990#m
I read about this yesterday or the day before on a vehicle forumYes, we heard the same thing a few years ago and Caterpillar put out a similar bulletin to their dealer networks about oils becoming scarce. I bought a few cases of oil at that time and still have a case or two left over. This is just a scare like all the other scares. This is just the toilet paper scare but for car people.
>>535140048You damn idiot this is their way to save money. It's not because of a shortage of any sort. They just don't want to pay more than they did last year. 55% because that 55% costs what 100% of the oil did the year before. Are you stupid?
I bought a couple bottles of 5W30. The way I see it, it's stupid to stockpile but equally stupid to not have at least enough to get to the next town over safely.
>>535140048>posted it againyea, we'll be seeing this on the news soon.
>>535140048Motorcraft chads stay winning
>>535140698>Both letters cite a supply shortage >It's not a supply shortage.Reading is hard.
>>535140048Are you STILL talking about Epstein War prices??
>>535140698Have a second source. A Nissan spokesperson confirmed the authenticity of the bulletin to The Drive. Notably, the “why” section points out that the supply shortage is affecting all automakers, not just Nissan. https://www.thedrive.com/news/second-automaker-sounds-alarm-over-dwindling-motor-oil-stock
>>535140048has anyone considered using baby oil
>>535141059I dunno, I haven't received any letters about supply shortages for constituent components of any of the building materials I buy, and literally every component of if made from petrochemicals (single ply roofing). Our prices are increasing 10% across the board June 1, however. Adhesives and primer will be more maybe, but as of now 10%.
>>535142534>Motor oil supply is not affecting roofing material.Got it.
>>535142534>literally every component I buy made from petrochemicals (single ply roofing). >Our prices are increasing 10% across the board June 1What is SUPPLY and demand.
>>535142534what
>>535142534>don't hire me after junegot it, thanks
>>535141059>>535141804You're just not understanding the concept I'm trying to get across. They can claim supply shortages are the reason why they're only going to buy 55% of what they did last year but you I and everyone else knows they could buy all the fucking oil they want. They just don't want to pay out the nose for it. This is their way of not blowing their budget out of the water. Are you retarded? Literally stupid fucking idiots. These are excuses. And you're caring water for them for some reason I don't understand. The only reason they can't buy a bunch more oil other than budget constraints is likely contractual.
>>535140048If you guys are short on oil you can come to my place and suck it out of my driveway
>>535140048oh, man. mechanics can't have gaysex on and in your car anymore. first EV, now this. the mechanic job is donezo
>>535145787EV's will eventually have mechanics all the same, except the motors and batteries will go to motor and battery rebuild shops for rebuilds instead of being taken care of at the mechanic shop
>>535145653>The only reason they can't buy a bunch more oil other than budget constraints is likely contractual.Again, they literally gave supply shortages as the reason. Twice. From two different major auto manufacturers. I'd say I don't know why (you) are pretending to be retarded, but we all know why. Doritos are now $9 a pound btw. https://fortune.com/2026/04/07/pepsico-frito-lay-chips-food-and-drink-inflation-consumer-products-doritos-cheetos-tostitos/
>>535140048Most motor oil is synthetic.Synthetic oil is made from silica. How is this affected by the Iran War?
>>535146318https://www.mordorintelligence.com/industry-reports/synthetic-lubricants-market"Most" is a word with meaning, educste yourself. Synthetics are NOT most.
I bought 15 quarts of 0w20 and oil filters earlier this week because I'm smrt.
>>535140753you need 2 quarts of 5w30 to drive to the next town? what the fuck do you drive lmao
>>53514004810w30 and 0w20 are still $15 per 5l bottle at Walmart. This is what you get for buying cars with retarded specs.I bet you ghetto rice burners need premium fuel, too
>>535146318Blend is probably the most popular choice for cars that aren’t brand new
More evidence to counter shills.
>>535140614Well car people is 90% of Americans who own a car and don’t want the engine to shoot out the top of the hood like a Wiley E Coyote scene
>>535146318Only a small fraction. Most synthetic oils are highly refined petroleum. Are miggers genuinely this dumb, or do you know you’re lying and just not care?
>explain this to normie.>want to buy 5y supply.>doesnt believe me.>goes and has a talk with the car dealership. >now refuses in any capacity to belive me.>500$ for a 5y supply for three trucks.>nooooooooooooo we cant do that or take steps to secure our own interests>starts going on about all these hypothetical things that may or may not happen.Holy fuck anons, I pity anyone who is stuck having to rely on normies to do simple fucking things, never leave the house.
>>535148962Or you have nice car or nice truck and people fucking hate that your doing better than them so they become spiteful mutants and fuck your shit up.If someone paid you and asked you to put a 4" lift on their truck, would you put a 6" and then explain some convoluted tale about how you need more money?
>>535150046I don’t know how what you’re saying ties to it. I’m just saying that oil is pretty critical because if you don’t change your oil as some people find out you’re gonna destroy your vehicle. I mean, they can go a long time past the oil change but I mean it’s essentially very critical. And oil change has already went up. I mean, I go to this one good Wal-Shart and regular changes went from $22 up to $35 in the last year and synthetic stayed the same (60) so I don’t know what this means for synthetic but if people are playing double the price now for oil changes it is gonna cause a problem. a lot more broken down cars. if you try to charge someone driving a Nissan Altima 50 bucks to do their regular oil— There’s a lot of people who are not gonna do that. And obligatory “change the oil yourself” I’ve done my own oil all the time on Toyota’s Chevy’s Ford Bmw. I don’t want to do it anymore. My time is worth more and I just pay to have it done for not much more than what the oil and filtered itself costwhile I go shop for my groceries or even go sit at Starbucks across the street.
>>535147872If you develop some problem it is good to keep a quart whether your car burns it or not. I’ve had for a long time a basic little case of shit that is like the Jurassic park case in the back of the Land Cruiser/explorer but it’s got a battery bank jumper, cigarette lighter air compressor, quart of oil and some little useless first aid kit thing. The battery bank thing has flashing lights on it but I was thinking of adding some road flares to complete the larp.
>>535150756Oh and in the full size spare compartment there’s normal jumper cables + the manual jack that came with it. Some little compact hydraulic jack would be dope though.
