>>535177845I'm not from Tennessee, but I've never heard of lock boxes for the general public, and certainly not for defendants in a case (as he was, from charges a few days earlier). The only exception to this would be at the local/county jail, but those are only used by officers who are required to stow their arms before entering prisoner areas. But here (in Michigan), they don't have lock boxes, and the security station is the first thing you have to pass through when walking through the door. All that being said, it would be far easier to believe that someone he knew who was outside the building held his weapon, and that he got it back as he exited. But that might raise other questions
