Conservatives aren't really a meaningful bloc in American politics anymore, the modern GOP is a strange mix of populism, contrarianism, and self-aggrandizing entrepreneurial politics all animated by spite and (a very justified) sense of profound alienation. There are few ideological positions holding it together, its mostly just a hostility towards any semblance of institutional authority with no real concern for replacing what they destroy with anything at all. Its less of a political movement and more of a wildfire clearing out the dead brush accumulated by the decades of failure and squandering of the public's goodwill by the post Cold War globalist, meritocratic, hyperliberals in the mold of Reagan and Clinton. MAGA isnt going to build anything, it simply isnt in its nature, but it will destroy.

You can see it most clearly in healthcare policy, even after supposedly working on an ACA replacement since 2008 and even having a trifecta in government they have offered nothing. They were even willing to repeal it and replace it with nothing. Because there are no ideas. There is no vision. Its just anger.
