If you are at a certain part of your sleep cycle, you will sleep through anything, but when you start naturally cycling to a lesser state of sleep, that's when noise from the outside can wake you prematurely, you were already on your way to waking up naturally in the next 10-20 minutes. Basically, they didn't wake you up, you just woke up and heard them and thought you woke up because of them, but you would have woken up soon anyway to pee or something. And if you were really tired, you could go back to sleep, if you can't go back to sleep immediately, it means you're meant to be awake for a while. Even if you're tired, just get up and make tea and sit and read or else do some light chores and then maybe you'll feel tired again and you can sleep some more after that. A lot of people can't tolerate the TRANSITION between different stages of sleep and wakefulness, and it just always makes them cranky. It sounds to me like you're waking up in a cranky mood and you hear your neighbors fighting and it makes you think you're part of the fight, or you have some fight with them. The dude is trying to discipline his bitch, mind your fucking business.
