They have these in the US too. It's not complicated tech, but getting everything running smoothly and cleanly is a real difficulty. Everyone knows chinks specialize in quality control issues lmao.

its actually the usa that is known for this. hence your massive trade deficit: no one buys american products because they are shit quality and theyve known to be shit quality since at least the 70s.

Probably less than the farmland, farm staff and farm machinery required to grow 50 tonnes of lettuce

The video is 3 years old and the farm is owned by a resarch institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. . Its just a retarded Amerimutt slidethread

The total anual output was at best $150,000 worth of letuce but thats besides the point for a 3 year old science project at its early stages. The question is how much does it cost to bring 1kg of lettuce to a space station or the moon.
>>
great news for rabbits
>>
>>535398111
what seethe? european cars are luxury items in the usa. for us theyre normal. same for beer, chocolate, really any food. sure there is a following for harley davidsons, but certainly not because of their quality lol. boeings regularly fall out of the sky etc. americans do not produce anything of value, which is why you have this massive trade deficit that you voted your orange chief in power for to fix. I mean you niggers are so bad at producing quality goods that all american tech companies decided to produce their products elsewhere kek
>>
>>535397423
it actually makes sense when you no longer have large transportation costs from rural areas where the agricultural land is to the city where the mouths are.

If [costs of vertical industrial farming] < ([costs of rural traditional farming] + [transportation costs])
then it makes sense.
>>
>>535398542
tl;dr
>>
>>535397678
Don't forget that it'll cost about $100k in electricity to grow it. These things don't make sense without nuclear power behind them to provide the electricity. Even green energy doesn't make sense for these, because all the land used to harvest solar / wind could just be used... to grow the crops.
>>
>>535398589

>>
>>535397423
It makes a lot of sense. The only thing preventing this from absolutely killing traditional agriculture is energy. When modular fusion comes into play, it's over for farmers.

Here in America the best way to sus out if a car is an unmarked police vehicle is if it's an American built car. Only pigs and feds drive government motors or fords outside of penis compensation trucks like the moron you were replying to and even then I'd way rather have a Toyota Tundra then a Ford F-5000

>european cars are luxury items in the usa

only boomers still buy that crap, everyone knows that Euro cars are made like shit and break down fast. You need to pay 3,000 dollars for every minor repair in a Mercedes due to how shitty it's built. Everyone has either been buying Japanese or American SUV's and trucks for over a decade now

Lettuce is high in fiber, best thing I can say about it. It has negligible nutrition and is basically a vehicle for dressing or other ingredients of a salad. That being said yuppies will pay 7 dollars for a head of lettuce so it's kinda "yuge" in the agriculture industry.

All you can realisticly cultivate in these types of farms is leafy greens, like lettuce. That stuff has almost no nutritional value. Set next to the costs of all this it's obviously not worth it. The only way this shit's worth the cost is to farm cashcrops like weed and microgreens. So unless China is planning on becoming the next Afghanistan in exporting hash or becoming the fine dining hub of the world, this shit dumb.

Yes both. The French have grown most vegetable stuff by water on is it the Louvre or the Versatile. Somewhere. But it's possible to grow most veg without soil and a number of fruits.

This topic the Chinks aren't the first. Holland is producing a billion or more lettuces a year on its robot farm.

The problem is energy consumption and scale of the operation, producing how much. The future is this method. It isn't plant based alternatives full mycotoxins.

The French haven't used much or hardly any energy on development and the process6. Almost none. But when you're talking a billion lettuces and the robotics involved it gets massive.

The method goes back a lot longer than the topic. Topically it is advancing into solutions that don't soil erosion and can be grown almost anywhere

We did this in Canada
Thanks to this new method of farming iceberg lettuce went from 0.99 cents to $5.00 Canadian
It turns out it's very expensive to maintain these farms and require trained professionals
I used to eat a head of lettuce every single day at lunch with my whole rotisserie chicken
The chicken was only $4 it was a $5 meal
Now the lettuce is $5 and the chicken is $15
And my boss says a raise is just out of the company budget (lie)
