I left the house today and went all over. The local independent video game store is bustling. Cards flowing over the counter, ready cash to buy with and fully stocked. The ACME supermarket is a disaster. Large spaces on the shelves and disorder everywhere. They're obviously keeping a lower inventory and not hiring enough people to keep the store up to standard. It was a bit shocking. In case you're not aware, traditionally supermarket shelf space is highly competitive and brands compete by the inch to get their products space. Gaps in every department. And prices were high. Wal-mart was busy and normal for whatever passes for normal at wall-mart. I forgot to check the motor oil shelves. Went to get new tires and the price went up 20% from the last time I bought a set. Gasoline was anywhere from $4.39 to $4.59 with one Mobil station at $5.49 for some unknown reason. Mobil might be having some issues they're an outlier at the few Mobil stations I've seen. Lots of shoppers. All the sale items were cleaned out in all the stores. Anyway, that's my report.
