1 bedroom apartment in my town is $1,400 a month. When I was looking pre covid the same apartment complex was $650 a month. This is also in a shitty mexican area where someone got stabbed.
The only hope I have left is to save up for 2 acres of land and build some sort of cheap tiny 2 bedroom tiny home. I would also keep the upkeep cost as low as possible. And try to be as off grid as possible. I value workable land and nice green trees over a large home. Which doesnt seem realistic to have in the first place. Bought my house in 2020 for 180k. I just put it on the market for 360k. I made zero improvements. It's really that easy to make money. Spending it on a new house further out of town in an unincorporated zone. 40 acres, agriculture zoned. Neighbors are now too far away to matter. I finally made it bros. I think I might take up bee keeping next spring, and setup some raised beds this fall for next year too.
