Any attempt to explain things to them will result in you getting yelled at, or worse.This applies to your "enlightened" liberals and college educated citizens who practice "alternative" lifestyles as much as stereotypically incestuous, rural rednecks.It's a rather frightening realization once you have it, that you are being belittled, disrespected, dragged down, by utter simpletons in most arguments with American strangers over the web or real life. There are markers you can use to infer that before it happens, on places like Twitter especially you'll notice they have a preferred way of speaking and thus thinking. It doesn't even have to be ebonics.An entire nation, really just an economic zone of primitives is having its consequences. The level at which they communicate and parse their thoughts (already limited due to the brain scorcher that is their mass media system) is on par with something you would expect from a wartime occupaton policy that strangles the next generation of intelligentsia in the cradle, by simply denying further educational progression as was the case here.

Turns out that this is a problem within the white population, too, and it’s caused by a combination of parents believing that they can offload ALL educational burden to their local public schools and so they send their children to kindergarten unable to wipe their own ass, tie their shoes, or read a book; and by the teachers using sight reading methods where you learn how to memorize the shape of specific words instead of how to sound them out (basically like reading hieroglyphics instead of a phonetic language). The system has become so soft and the result is soft feckless peopleI taught my sons to read by literally reading to them every night from the day they came home from the hospital. Reading is our sanctuary, our freedom and peace. By 3 they were both able to read simple things, by grade 1 novels. It took very little effort- just sing that alphabet, sit there and sound words out, make them do it, until it sticks. And then they get addicted and there aren’t enough books in the world to slake the thirst.
the states that speak the most spanish have the highest rates of adult illiteracy.. this isn't surprising news.
