>Around thirty Red Cross rescue volunteers have been taking part since Tuesday May 19 in specialized training on dignified and secure burial techniques in the rural commune of Mongbwalu (Djugu territory) in Ituri. This entity is considered at this stage to be the epicenter of Ebola virus disease (EVD) which is shaking Ituri and other regions, including Uganda.

>Ebola outbreak may be spreading faster than first thought, WHO doctor warns

People living close to the epicentre of a deadly Ebola outbreak have told the BBC of their fear, as the World Health Organization (WHO) warned cases may be spreading faster than originally thought.
One man in the Democratic Republic of Congo's north-eastern Ituri province said infected people were dying "very fast", adding: "Ebola has tortured us."

Its been confirmed by a local news outfit
Or at least reposted with the following text

#RDC #Bunia A high level of tension was observed this Thursday, May 21, at Rwampara General Reference Hospital.
According to several local sources, the situation erupted following the death of a young man suspected of being contaminated with the Ebola virus in this healthcare facility. Family members, accompanied by several youths from the area, contested the circumstances of this death and demanded the return of the body.

The tension quickly escalated around the hospital, where angry youths threw projectiles at certain buildings of this healthcare facility. Two vehicles were damaged, including a hospital ambulance. Two isolation tents intended for the care of Ebola patients were set on fire. Witnesses also report that a body suspected of being contaminated with the virus was burned inside one of these facilities.

Elements of the Congolese National Police deployed on site were attempting, this Thursday afternoon, to restore calm and prevent any further escalation, according to information corroborated by

>A serious incident broke out Thursday at the Rwampara general hospital, about ten kilometers from Bunia, in the province of Ituri, epicenter of the Bundibugyo Ebola epidemic which is hitting eastern DRC.
A suspected terminally ill patient showed up at the hospital this morning. He died. His family members wanted the body back. Medical staff tried to dissuade them, without success.

it's transmissible via droplets so if someone is talking and spits which is common they'll end up infecting you. If they touch their noses or cough in their hands and touch a surface you end up touching you'll be infected as well.

A lot of its down to where the infection lodges as well
Its a deep type virus so it doesnt effect your respiratory tract that much
There is a strain called Reston that does but not in humans, we are weirdly immune to it, pigs and monkeys get fucked by it and its thought it spread through vents in a lab

If any of the current strains started effecting our respiratory tracts, gg

>smoked bush meat
Ngubus eat monkeys and bats, jungle carcasses meaning some diseased dead animal found in the forest, slaughter it, then don't wash their hands or poorly wash and serve you monkey dinner with extra Ebola
>witchdoctors
Every African pays scammers before they see a doctor "Ngubu I have an Ebola cure of magic herbs you don't need a hospital"
>stupid death rituals
Ngubu died so we all have to touch his body and do a shaman dance then have a feast of smoked monkey without washing our hands
>jungle rape
Did you hear Ngubu cured his Ebola by raping a woman without it, Ebola left his body oogabooga boogaooga

They consider bush meat to be magic so handing out free food and money will never solve the problem

>>
>>535511753
That happens every time. The disease spreads because the locals take their dead and inter them at home for a few days before burial. The whole family washes the body and symbolically feeds it. This of course spreads ebola, hence the training for secure burial.

all factors anon
not denying it
BUT
as this anon says>>535519401
the biggest issue is every relative of the deceased plays with the body in its most viral state before burying it

The first case, the family took the body out of its coffin, it wasnt nice enough, then put it in another
then started playing with it

do you think dead are traveling across remote regions in conflict with barely any road infastructure? we saw how hard it is for andes to spread but a virus that requires touching dead isn't spreading to multiple large cities this fast but within villages.

Bunia is the region with the best healthcare closest to the initial patient (not patient zero, they dont know who it is)
The patient went to Bunia from Mongbwalu
Then died
All negative tests because they were testing for Zaire
There are road and travel paths everywhere anon
They are shit and deliberately so, everyone is smuggling gold, there are huge networks being funded by the UAE
The mining town thats the hotspot has exploded in population and everyone travels in and out, getting supplies, selling their gold, not to mention the war, they need supplies etc so its a highly mobile scenario
