In 2016, President Obama met rapper Rick Ross at the White House to discuss the "My Brother's Keeper" initiative to keep black men out of jail. Ross was wearing a court-ordered ankle bracelet b/c he was facing kidnapping charges. The bracelet went off during the meeting.
It's just an amusing and ironic episode - but it came to mind as I see people talking about a "cage match" on the White House lawn. I'm not too enthusiastic about that either - but let's not pretend that the WH has always been a place of solemn dignity.
