I've discovered that even with a good salary, I can't really save enough to get anywhere with my income alone.I luckily started with a chunk of change I got from a business sale 15 years ago. So I guess now that I'm older I've at least crossed that threshold.But I guess it points at the reality of what life is like for people with REAL money. Those with $5m+ are basically living in cheat mode. All it takes is relatively small fortune and you suddenly have eliminated all of the shit that's grinding everyone else down to a husk.If you make 10% yearly in the market, that's $500k of spending money you just magically get for... having money.And if it's a rough year and you only make 4% okay, so you've still got $200k. And if it's a really bad year and you lose some, you've probably got some leftover from your $500k year a while back.My goal is to get to that point and basically live like a middle class guy while I stack money for my kids.I lived in financial hell through my 20s and I'm going to at least spare them that experience.
