She mostly keeps that part in an imaginary cage, but it escapes from time to time. Sabotages her efforts to be a sterile worker drone. Then she'll have an abortion, become hysterical or otherwise psychotic for weeks, but refuse to accept that she not only wanted to be a mother, but that it might have brought her joy. It's not just women either, lots of men do similar.This mental illness, whatever you want to call it, is contagious. It can pass from one person to another. Also helps that I'm the youngest of a big family and all of my siblings except one have kids and even some of their kids have kids, so I don't feel this obligation to continue the family line or whatever. I guess I can be a pretty selfish person, but I'm kinda at peace with being the cool video game uncle that does his own thing, makes cameo appearances now and then and gives people nice gifts.
