Is it low T from all the gooning? Are nu-males actually females? Did men start to groe pussies in the end times?

Whats the deal?
>>
Because everything is more complex today and not easy to fix
>>
>>538108822
for how many fucking months have you been fixing your piece of shit of a car?
>>
>>538108822
Every part of every new car is connected to a computer and engineered in a way where you must disassemble the entire car to change a proprietary air filter. All the fittings and fasteners are proprietary as well and require special patented tools. If you make a mistake boom voided warrenty and 5k bill to get it fixed at a dealership.
>>
>>538108822
will you ever fix this shit tho?
you made like 100s of these threads with the same old pictures, looks like you got stuck and could never finish the repair.
so thats why I dont fix my own shit and just pay some guy who knows shit how to fix it for me in a reasonable amount of time, like nobody has the time to repair their car for 6+ months.

GARBAGE THREAD
>>
>>538108822
we aint brokies no more, we can afford whatever we need and the moment it breaks we know its faster and easier to just replace it with a new one
>>
>>538108822
Tools are expensive, I got no space to keep Tools and borrowing them is CBT levels of normie cringe most times.
>>
>>538108983
this.. basically. It's not 1972 anymore. Cars are much more safe and efficient than back then. And their exhaust stinks less.
>>
>>538108822
>>538108965
You're not still working on that same car are you OP?
>>
>>538108946
there are plenty of 90s and early 2000s economy cars that are easy to work on. 2006+ Civics are a goldmine, the R18 engine is a workhorse and can run 500k miles on just oil changes.
>>
>>538108822
Here's why and an example from my life that just happened the other day.
>My sink faucet stops working easily on the hot handle
>take it apart
>realize the hot cartridge is junk and got bunged up because it's a cheap POS plastic piece in a brass case
>figure I can just replace the cartridge
>go to home depot
>home depot has a cartridge for the company that my faucet is
>it's 16 dollars
>home depot also sells a whole replacement faucet of better quality than the builder put in for 24 dollars
>I'm not gonna fuck around with the cartridge just to have to replace the other one in a few months
>I buy the whole thing
why would I waste my time / money fixing something when the cunts make it almost as cheap to just replace it?
This applies to cars now too beyond the basic repairs.
>>
>>538109218
>just drive some old shitbox from ancient times
>>
>>538108822
All cars from 2010-2016 and beyond, maybe earlier, need to be hooked to a device or laptop to fix it.
>>
>>538109218
But is it really worth it? They get worse mpgs so you have to pay for more fuel.
>>
>>538109218
parts are expensive as fuck. OEM front control arms for my mazda are $600. OEM control arms for a newer aston martin are… $650.
Turns out quality costs money, and we’ve all been robbed by inflation/kikes.

yeah my 91 NSX is a complete shitbox, as is my 2006 S2000.

I had a 2008 Civic Si as my first "fun" car. Did the bolt-ons and tune, never gave me an issue. I put almost 100k miles on it, and honestly I should have never sold it to chase the FR-S (GT86) when it first came out in 2013.

The best part of older cars is that they usually have replaceable radios and you can get the two things that most people want from modern cars: a backup camera and bluetooth radio. the 2 din units also have android auto / apple car play.

so what exactly does a modern car give you? reliability isn't guaranteed, plenty of BMWs and Kias with issues after 3-4 years that 20 year-old Toyotas and Hondas don't have.

They don’t necessarily need to be hooked up to a laptop to “fix” them but they do need to be hooked up to clear whatever error codes are present. 4chan users are leet haxxors, it shouldn’t be a problem for you

Because it costs too much.
>>

>after 3-4 years
my leasing ends after 3 years and then I get a new car.
why would I drive the same shitbox for 10 years?
and if my car breaks down I just get a replacement from the dealership and usually the car they give me as replacement is better than the one I have thats getting repaired.
so why dig around in the dirts with my hands like some jeet?

Me in 1980 - Just pull the old engine out and replace it.
Me in 2026 - using the special tool that you don't have, plug into the AI and open the access port replace the spark plugs in the far back passenger side.

Since this is the car thread, does anybody know anything about the capabilities of the FordPro telematics system?
SWIM has had a van stolen and it last appeared on the ford app 36 hours ago.
I know it is likely already chopped by this point but I'm wondering how to disable it remotely, on the off chance it hasn't yet been broken for parts. After hours of back and forth with various people at Ford I've been told I must have the police contact ford corporate before Ford will help with anything more than what is available on the app.
>>
>>538109411
i have a hard time believing this, maybe it's a Mazda thing? if anything you should have good markets for them in Japan.

i can source parts for my JDM cars here in the US and they aren't that expensive, but they are Hondas. I was surprised I was able to get a new computer fan module for my NSX for like $200 shipped from Japan.

certain parts will be expensive, like CV boots and joints are not gonna be cheap, just like a transmission will be. they are usually things you don't need to replace unless there's a situation (or rust...). these are the kinds of things that you would catch on an inspection before buying.

if you have a 92-00 Civic (EK) or 2003-2008 Fit (GD3) you could toss a modern K20/K24 engine in it and have something that's basically new and easy to work on, and a ton more power/torque.

finding an old Fit for $3K and then $5K motor swap you'd have an incredibly useful, fun, and powerful car with incredibly reliability and brand new motor.

Because everything is now proprietary and electronically locked and it's all put in such way that without the proper proprietary equipment it literally breaks down , collapses and voids your warranty

>why would i buy a house when i can rent forever
do i really need to explain it to you? the jews really did a number on you guys

it's not even a matter of "getting your hands dirty". owning an older car doesn't mean you're gonna be constantly have it ripped open in your garage like a project car. there's just less things to go wrong on them, few maintenance items (which are the same for all cars), and lack of car payment.

in the US the average car payment is something like $750 for new vehicles and $500 for used vehicles. that's fucking insane. that means in a single year for a used car that's $6k. you could buy a decent car outright for that in cash. and then save that money the next year for an emergency fund in case something happened to the car. that's 2 years for ownership + security.

instead people rather burn their money on loop indefinitely. then when your family or children need a starter car you have a hand-me-down.

neither the police nor Ford know the procedure and the police sure as hell aren't going to call ford on my behalf just because I ask them to.
Spoken to 3 people at ford and got three different stories and of the half dozen police officers involved none seem to be talking to each other.
I accept the van is likely gone. Question was more about what Ford could do remotely to said van.

>>538109398
Lol. Children on this site actually think like you.
It's called a obd2 scanner and them been in every car with an eco since the 1980s

Scan you check engine light
Find the code and Google it
Run a multimeter or other tests to find the exact diagnosis
Replace the part.

I work on my 201l8 Silverado no problem. It's not much more complicated than the 90s cars

Many autocorrects are AI based now. If the LLM is analyzing a significant number people talking like niggers it's logically going to incorporate that thinking that language is appropriate, or worse yet, correct. The decline becomes a little more apparent every day.

Things are not designed to be fixed anymore, just replaced. I actually tried repairing my dishwasher last month after it stopped heating the water in it. Pretty sure that it was a burnt out heating element, but I wanted to check it with a voltage meter and see if that part was really to blame.

I never found out, because I couldn't get the dishwasher out of the counter. Id disconnected everything I could find and unfastened everything, but I could only move it out a few inches before it came to a hard stop. Eventually I gave up and decided to just get the damn thing replaced after all, since it was at least 15 years old by my estimate.

I was watching them do the replacement to figure out what I had done wrong. It turned out that they had to reach down and manually sever the power cord to get it out of the counter, thats what was stopping me. They put the dishwasher in place and then build the rest of the counter around it, there was no possible way to get the unit out of the counter without destroying it. So even if I HAD gotten the machine out of the wall the same way they did, and swapped the heating element successfully, there would have been no way to fucking test anything without doing a manual patch to bridge the cord I had to cut to get it out in the first place, which wasn't something I had the tools or experience for safely. There was simply version of events where I was going to do that kind of damage to a machine I was trying to avoid having to replace.

Horseshit.
Some of the most simple automative work is the same as it was 50 years ago.
Even when it isn't, the tools are cheap and youtube is free.

Shops charging $600 an axle for brakes is indicative of people not even trying.

Modern cars are specifically designed so you can't work on them yourself. Same goes with pretty much every other piece of modern technology. It's why people are trying to get "right to repair" laws passed to force companies to stop doing this shit.
