>>538203211I’m so sick of hearing this. Most Bible translations are good. You can’t go wrong with NABRE, ESV, RSV, CET, and even NIV. The meaning is the same in all of them. KJV is clunky and a chore to get through. It includes the line about prayer and fasting absent from most versions, but that’s because of the underlying Byzantine manuscript used. It’s just not in most manuscripts. There are bad versions to avoid like NLT and obviously the JW and messianic jew ones, but most are fine. KJV is not good for Revelation because they didn’t have access to the original greek manuscript, so they translated the latin vulgate back into greek and then into antiquated english, making a lot of parts make no sense and flow awkwardly. Tldr textual criticism is very complicated but despite this, most versions, especially the ones I listed, are easy to read and have minor differences that don’t matter.
