>you have no idea what bonds represent

ok anon, i'll walk through it slowly and you tell me where i go wrong
a bond is a promise of fixed nominal payments. 100 złoty coupon every year, principal at the end.
question 1: prices fall 3% a year. does that fixed 100 złoty buy more or less each year?
question 2: deflation hits, so the central bank cuts rates to fight it. new bonds pay 1%. your old bond pays a fixed 5%. does the old bond's market price go up or down?
the payments gain purchasing power AND the paper appreciates. that's why long government bonds are the textbook deflation asset. 1929-32: US stocks lost ~90%, long treasuries were one of the only things that went UP. japan: yields fell from ~8% in 1990 toward zero across the deflation decades - anyone holding long JGBs compounded gains for 25 straight years while japanese salaries froze solid. every "all-weather" portfolio ever built holds long bonds precisely as the deflation hedge
the one exception proves the mechanism: junk corporate bonds die in deflation - because the DEBTOR defaults. the creditor's paradise ends exactly where the debtor's corpse begins, which is the wealth transfer i've been describing
so yes, a bond "represents debt" - the being-owed side of it. deflation moves real wealth from whoever owes fixed sums to whoever is owed them. you owe rent and sell labor. they are owed. which side of that trade did you think the strong money was on?

Doing some more reading on it, the french use these satellites
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composante_Spatiale_Optique
They are not as heavy as the US' Kennen satellites, but seem to operate in similar orbital altitudes. Guess this means they may be less capable, but it's good to have something to go off of to determine that.
Kennen has a 10cm resolution, French have 20cm, which means they can both capture things down to individual people but the French one will be reading them more like pixels so you can tell they're there but not much else.
Mostly an issue with the size of the mirror, but launching a bigger satellite is possible, I assume it's just a choice to go with something smaller. They also seem to be way cheaper at like 5x less cost.
So, capable but not as capable.

>100 złoty
Think 100m worth of bonds. That's the amount you're playing with.

Now, do you think someone will buy 100m bonds, with the assumption that the bond will pay out an amount that beats inflation be happy that inflation suddenly REVERSED, and he effectively locked his money into a piece of shit bond?

Bonds work best if inflation HALTS, however, the government does not like that, so most keep their inflation at 2.5%
This way you rob the goyim of their money while providing useless parasites like stock traders with liquidity.

Inflation vs deflation can be seen as market trend towards the fake, or towards the real and physical.
A deflationary economy produces real products of real value, which only become cheaper and cheaper to produce. See Japan.
An inflationary economy cannot produce anything of value, because production is simply too expensive to afford it there. See America.

There is of course the transitory state, too, which I think China is caught into, and they are currently deflating away. Give it 10-15 years and everyone will be wondering why chinx are suddenly producing high-tech shit just like Japan suddenly was around 2000s.

Now Japan is inflating and suddenly japs are complaining that their life is shit. Really makes you think. I guess we need to make their life even shittier! Think of the economy!

I wish it was possible to blame the war in ukraine, on ukraine itself.

The problem with doing this is the fact ukraine does not have a right to self determination.

The reality of the matter is ukraine is the least important factor within the war in ukraine. They arent capable of starting a war.

Ultimately, we started the war. It was here where Project Ukraine was fostered over decades.

There has to be some initiative that would force companies to make more in order to earn more profits instead of just seeking equilibrium between high price and lower sales/production.

Only few ways i can see it(i am not an economist) is spuring growth through cheaper PPI for producers ie you drop the cost for them to make products which allows more companies to compete in the economy. Cheaper energy/labor/metals ect will do that but it's not perfect. China has a glut in products that consumer demand cannot meet so if you aren't selling overseas you end up having to close up shop and thus create job losses which in turn causes deflation in both products and wages since less people have jobs. Its a precarious balance that's hard to manage.

>so if you aren't selling overseas you end up having to close up shop
This is the crucial part.
Chinx CAN and WILL sell overseas. Eventually due to deflation their products will become more and more expensive, and that will be the end of "cheap chink garbage" just like the "cheap jap garbage" ended.

Perhaps some US boomers still remember those times.

>he effectively locked his money into a piece of shit bond

anon, run your own scenario. inflation reverses into deflation. two things happen to his 100m: every fixed coupon now buys MORE than he planned for, and the central bank cuts rates to fight the deflation - so his old higher-coupon bond trades at a premium. that's not locked into shit, that's the best trade of his life. the scenario that actually wrecks bondholders is the mirror image - inflation SURGING past the coupon.

also
>bonds work best if inflation HALTS
that was my entire claim. falling inflation = creditor wins. welcome aboard, you're arguing my side now

>deflationary economy produces real value. see Japan
japan hit 50% of the WORLD's chip market in 1988 - built during its inflationary catch-up decades. then deflation arrived and what did japanese firms do? hoarded cash (which appreciated by sitting still), cut R&D, cut wages, cut investment. chip share collapsed to single digits, sharp got sold to foxconn, nominal GDP in 2001 was the same as 1995. deflation rewards NOT producing - why build a factory when your cash grows in value for doing nothing?

and if deflation was japan's superpower: why did the BoJ spend 25 years and a balance sheet bigger than the entire economy trying to KILL it? fighting prosperity, were they?

>japs are complaining their life is shit

they are, and here's the actual reason: japanese nominal wages grew ~3% TOTAL since 1991. korea's grew ~550% over the same window. three deflation decades left wages so flat that even mild imported inflation hurts. a guy who didn't eat for thirty years feels sick when he starts eating - the problem wasn't the food

last one, since you brought up economies that "can't produce anything of value": your own government just spent tens of billions on F-35s, apaches, HIMARS, abrams and patriots. remind me which economy warsaw ordered all of it from - the deflationary paradise, or the one that supposedly produces nothing?

Labor protection and deflation are two completely different problems. In 2026, we know better than to allow the mechanical, uncarring hand of the free market to decide who can live and die, because people like having money, but they like living more so that system tends to break if left running without rail guards.

>every fixed coupon now buys MORE than he planned for
Now here's a good question for you:
Why should he buy bonds of a deflating market, when he can buy into stocks of an INFLATING market instead?

Hint: it's equally as logical as buying into stocks of a less-inflating country, like Poland, over buying stocks in an inflationary shithole like America.
>why did the BoJ spend 25 years and a balance sheet bigger than the entire economy trying to KILL it?
I don't know. Why did pidorussia invade Ukraine?
Perhaps some people are just fucking retarded and have no clue what they're doing, creating countless scenarios of redundant suffering?
>japanese nominal wages grew ~3% TOTAL since 1991. korea's grew ~550%
The idea that "high tech nation" that shits out electronic components like RAM only beats a dying deflating economy by 12% isn't really a good look.

watched your homework so you don't have to (you clearly didn't). recap:
ukraine mentions: zero. russia mentions: zero. you posted 30 minutes of 1920s media theory as your ukraine argument. the video is not about the thing you're arguing, subscriber
07:25 - "public opinion does not actually exist." universal claim. applies to you first: your entire posting career is reciting other men's monologues
08:23 - oh wait, there's an exemption! parvini pauses to flatter his viewers as the "percentage of a percentage" who see reality clearly. everyone's opinion is manufactured except the paying customer's. that's not media criticism anon, - and at 22:35 he lists the exact techniques being used on you in that moment: dramatic narrative, heroes vs villains, emotional flattery
29:35 - lippmann's actual conclusion was better journalism and expert institutions. AA rejects it and swaps in "oligarchy is inevitable, stop voting." you're not posting lippmann, you're posting fanfic about lippmann by a guy who read him to disagree
and if media pseudo-environments invalidate opinion: the most hermetic pseudo-environment on earth is the one where independent journalism is outlawed and disagreeing is a felony - yet you quote its 80% approval polls like scripture. same position as always, "a KGB colonel's opinion matters more than the will of millions," now with a 1922 bibliography
the phantom public is real though. it's a guy watching a video that calls him an NPC and thanking it for the compliment

And this is why we need a consensus based currency such as Euro, so governments cannot use inflation to get out of their debt without raising taxes. Or are you the kind of person that will equate the end of currency control to a loss of sovereinty
>>

>so governments cannot use inflation to get out of their debt without raising taxes
I wouldn't call this "consensus-based". Euro is simply too tied to too many countries, so you simply CAN'T print more. A small helicopter money drop in France or Germany could completely fucking delete Greece, for example.

On one hand I'm glad Poland stayed out of eurozone, but on another hand, I'm not glad our currency is basically just monopoly funbux to bribe the fucking boomers with for another 4 years of raping the proles.

It's the same thing in other words, the effect is the same : elites cannot currency control their way out of the consequences of their bad governance. No more "the free market will punish them for that" and hot tears of rage, the lever is just fucking gone, and this is great : Euro is a stable store of value, the stablest, hence the most valuable.
I understand you are vaguely angry about the general state of affairs, but let me assure you that deflation is not the "reverse mechanism" to inflation you think it is, it is a self destruct button you should never press. The road to prosperity is a long period of stable, predictible market and currency, allowing houses and commerces to predictably build up

Not really. Consensus means you can't print more without everyone agreeing to it. Print more and Greece dies sounds the same, until everyone agrees that Greeks can go fuck themselves, and overruling the Greek minority opinion.

I actually think free market is not allowed to be free ENOUGH. Every time something bad happens, governments immediately bitch and cry and intervene.
Why would the government save someone from a bad business decision?

>Why would the government save someone from a bad business decision
There are multiple reasons but there is one over-arching reason : because they are shits that are worth more than the whole economy. I know it sounds crazy but I'll give you two exemples.
1°) First world agriculture : Right now, it is IMPOSSIBLE to make a profit in the first world in agriculture, if your products are not subsidized. You will get outcompeted by emerging first-sector specialists, who happen to be every single poor country in the world.
Why should the government pay you to grow potatoes where you can buy pakistani potatoes cheaper? Because if you don't and some shit happens and you lose access to pakistani market, people starve / some other foreign country now controls your life and death.
2°) In an environment ruled by china, an emerging second sector country, steel mills are totally unprofitable. China floods the market with cheap steel. Why should the government subsidise steel production when we can buy chinx steel for half the price? Because the day we go to war with china we lose the ability to produce tanks

Ill also say : keeping the skills alive is another very good reason to pay. It costs way less in the long run to keep a national skill alive than to reintroduce it after it dies
>>

Retarded take, tribalism and expansionist empires never lead to any good. I'm from Novosibirsk and had friends who worked for gas fields (experienced engineers) and came home to a house with no gas. Obviously not in the city but it makes sense why people don't want to live like this just because a country "can take it"

> Why buy bonds of a deflating market when you can buy stocks of an inflating one?
you literally just explained the anti-deflation mechanism yourself kek. if rational capital flees deflating markets for inflating ones, the deflating economy starves for investment. you started this thread arguing deflation is based for the property-less worker, and now you're LARPing as a wealth manager shifting capital to avoid it.

> Korea only ends up 12-17% ahead of Japan
> posts chart showing gap widening every single year
look up the 1990 baseline on your own chart. in 1990, Japan's PPP per capita was more than DOUBLE Korea's. Korea started at less than half and finished ahead. the deflation decades didn't cost Japan 12 points, it cost them a 2:1 lead. and you picked RAM as your tech example? Japan was the undisputed DRAM king of the world in the late 80s. they lost the entire industry to Korea's Samsung and SK Hynix during those exact deflationary decades. Japan's last DRAM maker, Elpida, literally went bankrupt in 2012 and got bought out by Micron. you managed to pick the exact case study of Japan losing its high-tech crown to an inflationary competitor lmao. I'll give you the rice prices though. Japan's farm lobby protectionism is real and keeps domestic rice artificially high.

> No longer pro-Japanese since Abe died
you idolize Shinzo Abe - the author of Abenomics, the most aggressive anti-deflation program in human history. the man launched QQE, forced a 2% inflation target, and massively expanded foreign worker visas just to kill the deflationary spiral you're defending. your gold-standard statesman spent a decade trying to destroy the economic model you're shilling for.

Let soil rest and fallow it. Have stupid stinky third worlders rape their land for our food.

I do agree that SOME food should be produced locally, but the problem is that food is unprofitable, and it does not go into strategic stockpiles. It goes onto the export market, which is also unprofitable, and I pay some fucking commie retard with my hard-earned money.

Why not have LITERALLY ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE than paying useless 9% of the population gibs? How about giving me free land if I promise to produce food on it and give a portion to the government? How about government farms that sell dirt-cheap excess to LOCAL markets, at a loss?

Average Brits earn roughly 4x to 8x more than average Russians, depending on the areas of UK & Russia.
Things possibly cost less in Russia normally I do not know I am not an expert, if Tucker ever gets time off from being ‘attacked in his bed by a demon’ (Tuckers recent looney claim) maybe he could stop lying for long enough to tell us?
But there are pictures going round now of petrol (“benzine”) receipts from Russia from after Russians have been lucky enough to finally find, cue up for and purchase petrol.
Okay so when they can finally find some benzine to buy and that shit is low quality badly refined stuff that is damaging car engines over there they are then paying a tiny fraction less than exactly double what petrol costs here to buy. Like I said they get A LOT less money so i just quickly worked it out and it costs between almost but not quite half to almost exactly two-thirds (depending on region) of a Russians monthly pay to put 20 gallons of petrol in their car. Russia being a bigger place than the UK with things more spread out 20 gallons might last say 4 to 5 weeks rather than the 4 to 6 weeks it lasts a UK driver on average.
Fuck me. Half to 2 thirds of your entire income to fill the petrol tank once and that’s if they can even get a chance to buy any petrol at all.
The fuel crisis now effects all regions of Russia except the very furthest far east region.
And this IS JUST THR BEGINNING.
Now, let someone tell me that this is not the collapse. Because how can a country run in that condition?
It just can’t.
Even if they hold tight to dear leader and keep kissing his built up high heeled little shoes its not up to any Russians whether the collapse happens or not. The collapse is already happening and this is it and no russian has any say in the matter. Stay Putin fans. No invasion of russia is necessary either. Still russia is visibly collapsing before our eyes.

I don't want to argue about the specifics, but the general ore-arching reason is, skills are cheap to maintain, expensive to acquire.
Agriculture is a complex industry. It requires specialist schools, automotive production, production of seeds, pesticides and fertilizer, to name just a few. Transforming a rural teenager into a farmer is a process that takes three years of specialist schooling, it's not something you just yolo. And what is true for agriculture is also true, doubly true even for every other strategic sector, more so the more complex they become.
If we lose our ability to produce steel, we're not acquiring it back without outside help.

Ukraine, nine European allies launch anti-ballistic missile coalition

Ukraine and nine European nations announced the formation of a new Integrated Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition on Monday[1][2], aiming to bolster the continent's air defenses against growing ballistic missile threats.

The agreement — signed by Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine — was unveiled on the sidelines of the "Coalition of the Willing" summit in Paris, an event attended by over two dozen heads of state and government.

According to a joint declaration published by the Élysée Palace, the purely defensive initiative seeks to accelerate the development of shared anti-ballistic capabilities. The coalition's flagship project centers on the FREYJA air defense system, a cost-effective interceptor designed by Ukrainian defense firm Fire Point. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated he hopes the system will be up and running within 12 months.

Participating nations intend to pool their defense industrial bases, scientific research, and operational expertise to build an integrated architecture. The initiative will complement existing national and European systems, such as the U.S.-made Patriot or the French-Italian SAMP/T.

"We acknowledge the unique experience of Ukraine, gained in defence against Russia's war of aggression," the leaders said in the joint statement, highlighting that Kyiv's practical battlefield expertise will be critical in developing new solutions.

The next stage of the project will involve establishing joint technical working groups, defining clear governance mechanisms, and drafting a roadmap to achieve the coalition's initial operational capabilities.

They don't work against specialized anti-tank munitions like NLAWs or Javelins because they hit way too hard. This is why they were "cope cages" because they were up against heavy artillery and anti-tank weapons whilst in urban environments in 2022. Against regular grenades dropped from drones they work fine.
The ideal I guess would be to make a NLAW-style munition that can be dropped by a drone that just automatically penetartes and blows up a vehicle when it flies over them.

A year or more is funny, the goal is never to bring the plant back to standard it is always to put a band aid on and say it's fixed. That's what was done with AVT units in refineries hit earlier this year. Shit output and less of it, but not as bad as a full shutdown. Obviously you can't bypass a CDU, it must be repaired and depending on damage it's about 1-6 months. China absolutely produces all the garbage they'll put in. Again - never about long-term reliability - always about quick and cheap. I don't know oil specifically but my friend worked in gas so this is how things were done. Will be quite similar from what I've read too.

Russian War Veteran Arrested After Running Over Two Women in Siberia

1/2

A Russian war veteran has been arrested in Siberia after drunkenly ramming his car through a public square, intentionally running over a woman who tried to stop him.

The incident occurred during the night of July 11 to July 12 in Malinovka, a village in the Krasnoyarsk region, following a local concert celebrating Russia's Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity.

According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 32-year-old driver of a KIA Sorento, who was highly intoxicated and driving without a licence, initially crashed into park benches and struck a 42-year-old woman.

When bystanders attempted to intervene—including one man who reportedly smashed a bottle against the vehicle—a 32-year-old woman, identified by witnesses as a local cultural centre employee, placed her hands on the car's bonnet in an attempt to stop the driver. The driver then intentionally accelerated, running her over before fleeing the scene towards a nearby farm facility.

Distressing video footage captured by onlookers shows the dark SUV manoeuvring erratically over pedestrian areas and circular benches as panicked witnesses scream and swear at the driver to stop.

The 32-year-old victim was hospitalised in a serious condition with a pelvic fracture. The 42-year-old woman is receiving outpatient treatment.

Local news outlet Gorod A, citing village residents, reported that the driver is a disabled veteran of the war in Ukraine who recently returned to Malinovka and uses a prosthetic leg.

Traffic police quickly detained the man. A breathalyser test revealed an alcohol level of 0.92 mg/l. Authorities have launched a criminal case for the intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm, an offence carrying a sentence of up to five years in prison. The driver also faces six administrative charges, including driving under the influence without a licence, fleeing the scene of an accident, driving without a front registration plate, having unpaid fines, and ignoring police orders to stop.

When the Siberian city of Chita celebrated Russia's Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity last week, the centerpiece of the festivities was a public lottery for a brand-new Lada Granta. But when the winning ticket was drawn on the city square, the recipient was none other than Nikolai Gurulev — the very official whose department organized the event.

Mr. Gurulev, the Head of the Department for the Implementation of State Cultural Policy for the Zabaykalsky Krai Ministry of Culture, initially celebrated his victory with unbridled enthusiasm. In a video recorded shortly after the July 8 event, a breathless Mr. Gurulev described his emotions as a “fountain” that “swallowed me headlong.”

“I absolutely didn’t expect them to call my lucky ticket,” he said, his voice raspy from shouting. He recalled checking the numbers one by one before suffering what he described as a “collapse in the head” when he realized he had won. “I don't know who to say thank you to, whose lucky hand drew the ticket, but if I see them, I will kiss them.”

The regional Ministry of Culture quickly went on the defensive, insisting that Mr. Gurulev had entered the lottery on general grounds alongside other residents. The winner, the ministry maintained, was selected fairly by a mechanical lottery drum, with no special privileges afforded to civil servants.

But the public was unconvinced. A fierce backlash erupted across local media and social networks, prompting Mr. Gurulev to voluntarily forfeit the vehicle to quell the scandal.

On Monday afternoon, authorities annulled the initial results and staged a do-over, this time broadcasting it live on the regional government’s social media pages. Using a random number generator, the Lada Granta was awarded to the Orlovs, a local family with a son and a daughter whose shared hobbies include running and walking.

Seeking to prevent future embarrassment, Alena Yachmeneva, the regional Minister of Culture, announced that starting next year, organizers and government employees will be strictly prohibited from participating in state-sponsored prize drawings.

I'm just saying you still have Angarsk, maybe more over that way too. Not sure how and with what Omsk was hit but that's quite impressive for distance.

It's just that every refinery hit from the outside is met with celebrations as if it's offline, while in reality it almost never even causes trouble. Literally every part of the process (unless you knock out all of primary distillation) will be bypassed. A month or two max and it's back up and running, just now your petrol isn't 95 it's 86 or something with a bunch of contaminants. This is being done everywhere and we'll see it more and more with those hit recently coming back online later this year. At some point it'll be bad enough to where we'll see 10+ pantsir systems surrounding each refinery in lieu of other objects.

In the meantime Russia still meets 80% of domestic consumption even with the recent strikes, imports will compensate and future strikes will be ever more difficult. If you think that drones carrying 200kg can fly the 5000km distance to Angarsk and take the plant fully offline, we're not even on the same level.

Russian drone strike injures 6, including a child, in Ukraine's Kharkiv region

A Russian drone attack on the suburban town of Solonytsivka in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region left six people injured, including an 11-year-old girl, the Regional Military Administration reported early Tuesday.

According to Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, Russian forces targeted the settlement with attack drones late Monday night. Medics diagnosed the 11-year-old and at least three other victims with acute stress reactions. All casualties received immediate medical assistance.

The strikes, which the regional prosecutor's office noted were carried out by "Geran-2" drones, hit a private residential yard, damaging homes, outbuildings, and vehicles in the community.

Crimea's Sevastopol faces power cuts after Ukrainian drone attack, Russian-installed governor says

A Ukrainian drone attack on energy infrastructure in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol caused partial power outages early on Tuesday, according to the city's Russian-installed authorities.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-installed governor of Sevastopol, stated that a "massive enemy attack" targeted the city's energy grid. In response, the local energy provider Sevastopolenergo was forced to introduce strict rolling blackouts, supplying power for two hours followed by six-hour cuts. Razvozhayev urged residents to unplug their household appliances and conserve their mobile phone batteries for emergency communication.

While Razvozhayev did not specify the exact facilities hit, stating only that a "special regime" had been introduced at energy sites, Ukrainian and independent monitoring channels reported explosions, a bright flash, and a plume of steam at the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant.

The early morning strike also disrupted local logistics, prompting authorities to temporarily halt sea passenger transport and suspend electric trolleybus routes.

>The brooming of muvva rasher
>by P. Iggywiggy.
I should write a book on how obvious it all was after all the smuggy talking heads have lost their posturing matches and history speaks of the great brooming of the state formally known as muvva rasher.
It may not go that far, they can hold onto putin, they can stay like Iran screeching and farting and throwing spears at ships sailing past… but they cannot stop a collapse because it is not up to them. It’s up to money.
And its up to war.
And they’re losing the war.
And their assets are being systematically destroyed on a daily basis.
And the loot they have cashed away won’t last.
And then we will see if they DO stay militant and loyal to the bunker monkë when non of them have any money, fuel, food, or any of the things that go with that.
It may take a while to knock out all of their M.F.F. sources, months perhaps? Not more than that. Not a year. But that is defo happening because they cannot stop their enemies from doing it.
>drone brooming
What is most likely is that suddenly we’ll wake up one day and they’ll have given the bunker monkë a Mussolini finish, with one last big banana stuck up his ass it’ll all be over then.
Meanwhile monkë is helping accelerate the collapse by marching millions into the jaws of mechanical death.
>collapse
Doesn’t mean they NECESSARILY give up on putin. Stop their war in one form or another. But COLLAPSE means that russia is fucked, their entire way of life gone. Probable starvation. Post apocalyptic conditions. That’s collapse and they have absolutely no say in the matter they ARE collapsing and it IS already happening so anyone saying otherwise is just defining collapse to mean something wildly inaccurate.

Russia's Krasnodar region reports drone attack; fire breaks out at Afipsky oil refinery

A Ukrainian drone attack on southern Russia early Tuesday triggered a fire at the Afipsky Oil Refinery and left at least one person hospitalized, local authorities reported.

The Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters stated that falling drone debris struck 16 addresses across the Seversky district, including the Afipsky settlement, the Smolenskaya stanitsa, and the Kovalenko khutor.

According to the official statement, emergency services were swiftly dispatched to the sites. The strike ignited a blaze at the Afipsky refinery, which emergency crews successfully extinguished by mid-morning.

"Drone debris fell on the territory of two enterprises; in one case, a fire broke out," the headquarters said, adding that a building at a local railway crossing was also damaged.

Residential areas were also affected by the fallout. Authorities reported damage to roofs, facades, and fences of several private homes, as well as blown-out windows, a damaged door, and a partially collapsed ceiling in a local apartment building.

The incident was part of a massive overnight barrage. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Tuesday morning that its air defense systems had intercepted a total of 288 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones across multiple regions, including Krasnodar, Bashkortostan, and the annexed Crimean peninsula.

Russia strikes Kyiv overnight; Ukraine reports damage to school and warehouses while Moscow claims military targets hit

A barrage of Russian ballistic missiles targeted Ukraine's capital early Tuesday, causing fires at commercial warehouses and damaging a boarding school, Ukrainian officials said, while Moscow claimed it had successfully struck key military-industrial facilities.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the overnight attack sparked fires at two warehouse addresses in the city's southern Holosiivskyi district. In the Darnytskyi district, a large crater was discovered next to a boarding school. The blast shattered windows in the main building and damaged an auxiliary structure, while falling debris set several parked cars on open ground ablaze, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).

Emergency crews quickly extinguished the fires. Debris also fell in the courtyard of a residential building and on a private home, the SESU added. No casualties were reported in the capital.

The Ukrainian Air Force later stated it intercepted five of the eight Russian ballistic missiles fired at the country overnight.

In Moscow, the Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged the strikes, claiming its forces used high-precision, long-range weapons and drones to hit Ukrainian military enterprises. In a detailed statement Tuesday morning, the ministry said the strikes targeted the "Radioizmeritel" plant, which it described as a key supplier of electronic components for Ukraine's Neptune and Grom-2 missiles, and the "Kyiv-79" facility (Ukr Armo Tech), which it claimed assembles warheads for drones and acts as a logistics center.

Only Angarsk and two other refineries are really that far east and incapable of being reached. The rest are fair game.
>At some point it'll be bad enough to where we'll see 10+ pantsir systems surrounding each refinery in lieu of other objects.
That just means there are other things to strike.
>It's just that every refinery hit from the outside is met with celebrations as if it's offline, while in reality it almost never even causes trouble
If it didn't cause trouble then I Crimea would be fine right now, but it clearly isn't.
>In the meantime Russia still meets 80% of domestic consumption even with the recent strikes
Russia does not have many oil terminals and they can be destroyed as well. It's an export country, not an import country, and the infrastructure for imports and strategic storage are not well developed. They have pipelines to China and Turkey, but outside of stuff like that their import infrastructure is not well-developed and does not cover Russian demand. Russia does not even have a plan for the situation beyond trying to repair the refineries, which will be operating in a lower capacity regardless of what they do.
>future strikes will be ever more difficult.
Only under the assumption that attrition does not involve their AD, which is false. The reason these strikes are possible is because of attrition in the first place and Russia being very big. If they move their AD to a few of the refineries they will simply have smoking accidents in another one.
All of this still causes immense strategic and structural problems for their oil production that can create larger problems later on, and even using the dirty fuel in their modern vehicles is dangerous. I think your outlook is leaning on being optimistic for Russia.
>Damaged refining units are put under a lot of stress because of multiple heating and cooldown cycles—and emergency repairs lead to degradation of structural integrity and strength.
These installations are not invincible.
