Politically speaking, it's best to reject new technology in favor of the older stuff that doesn't spy on you. This angers the jew.

unironically this. I personally like Amiga the most in terms of functionality and potential (graphically it was so ahead of its time) but C64/Sinclair weren't bad.

The fun part is mixing new with old, like instead of having to deal with loading programs from floppy disk drives and cassettes, we can use modern devices which emulate this. The DOS/Win9x scene has similar with pic rel (GoTek FDD emulator). A lot of synths of the time had embedded floppy drives for saving/loading patches (instruments) which these also are drop in replacements for.

I recently watched a video where someone had an AI agent make a simple "Claude" client for an Apple II GS. It worked by sending the prompt and responses back and forth to a remote PC running the actual Clade Code agent, over a modem that connects to WiFi. essentially Apple II GS -> Modem -> WiFi -> LAN -> PC. It was really neat for a distraction free experience and meta.

The C64 ultimate that re-released (cool story of how that came to be) is a FPGA recreation with all the old ports for compatibility and even a slot if you want to put an authentic SID chip in it.

I have a bunch of DDR2/3 memory that I salvaged for pennies. been thinking about making Win9x and XP machines to sell for a couple hundred that come with a modest SATA SSD and 9-series GPU. the parts can be salvaged from local Goodwill stores and found on eBay in bulk for cheap. Easy 50-100% profits and for me its just getting people to enjoy the good days.

a lot of games of GOG will also run on them just fine.
