I just learned about the concept of "blue blood" or sangre azul, it was a medieval term used to refer to Spanish aristocrats who weren't tainted by jewish or moorish blood, as evident by their pale skin tone. why do people act like whiteness is a new concept if even medieval spaniards, pre-colonization, recognized it?
