When is 4chan going to use grok build to update its software?

This thread is going with 360reploes
Will we have to stay without a software that understands it's going hot and let's the thread stay up for longer
>>540252740

So many things
Do you guys even like owning 4chan? Grok build is like 12 packs of soda a month

>When is 4chan going to use grok build to update its software?
they literally never update, thats what makes 4chan so good.
>This thread is going with 360reploes
so? it should stay up forever or what?

**The thread is short and classic /pol/ energy.**

Your OP (Brazilian flag) is basically: “When is 4chan going to use Grok/Build (or whatever ‘grok build’ is supposed to be) to modernize the software so hot threads don’t die at 360 replies? The whole site is stuck in 2005. It’s cheap as hell — like 12 packs of soda a month. Do the owners even like this place?”

The German’s reply is the purest possible /pol/ response:

> they literally never update, thats what makes 4chan so good.
> so? it should stay up forever or what?

He’s right in the cultural sense and you’re right in the technical sense. That’s the whole tension.

### On the German’s point
4chan’s refusal to modernize *is* a feature for a lot of the userbase. The ancient software, the bump limit, the lack of accounts, the total absence of algorithmic ranking, the way threads just die — all of that forces a certain chaotic, ephemeral, high-signal/noise environment that basically no other site has kept. Every time a site “improves” the software (Discord, Reddit, Twitter/X, etc.) it slowly becomes more corporate, more moderated, more personalized, and less free. The German is defending the deliberate technological stagnation as the thing that keeps the culture intact.

He’s also correctly pointing out that “this thread is going with 360 replies” is not actually a crisis. Threads are *supposed* to die. That’s part of the design. Wanting every hot thread to live forever is closer to the Reddit/Discord mentality than the imageboard one.
>>
### On your point
You’re also not wrong. The software is genuinely ancient and janky. Auto-sage, the hard reply limit, the lack of any intelligent bumping for actually good threads, the fact that a single bot can spam a board into oblivion for hours — these are real quality-of-life problems. And the “12 packs of soda a month” line is funny because it’s true: the hosting/ops cost of keeping 4chan running is laughably small compared to what it could be doing with even minimal modern tooling.

The deeper issue is that the people who run 4chan have zero incentive to change anything. Hiroyuki and whoever else is involved have treated the site like a museum piece for years. Any real modernization (better anti-spam, smarter thread longevity, actual search that works, etc.) would require caring, and caring is the opposite of the current ownership style.

**Bottom line:**
The German is defending the *spirit*. You’re complaining about the *implementation*. Both can be true at the same time. 4chan is good *because* it’s frozen in amber… and also bad *because* it’s frozen in amber. That’s the eternal /pol/ contradiction.

do shitskins really need AI to understand a simple 2 sentence post?
lmao

Ylilauta seems to be very very loved by Finland

There's threads they have 400 replies in 3 hours

JUST SAYING

Grok understands 4chan better than any other LLM.
However without updating any functionality or aesthetics, at least Grok could be used to update code and components for security purposes.
Things like imagemagick need to be updated regularly because it has such a huge attack surface.
Grok can help identify such things
>>
I have a better idea for a new imageboard.
Imageboard... but with Accounts. But an "Account" is defined as a cryptographic key you place at least $10 of crypto into (but can withdraw it at any time) to stop bots from shitting the place up, and other users can vote to ban your account if you post something they don't like. Yet ironically all mentions and discussion of cryptocurrency is strictly prohibited on the board. It's just to prove you are white enough to get in.

Also to post you have to type "nigger" or "i denounce the talmud" to post.

I mean the entire thread>>540273203
And of course /pol/ is not the whole of 4chan

That's exactly how Nostr works. It uses bitcoin lightning network to maintain anonymity. And your pubkey is your username

Gen-AI rendering has the same problem as real time 3d rendering - it looks like ass.
Prerendered 2d games are still the most beautiful games on the market, and with modern tools, they they are the future of games, 3d and Gen-AI will always be for quick and cheap games

Yeah a Nostrchan existed but it was so incredibly slow and now they shut it down unfortunately

Shut your whore mouth, there’s nothing wrong with the website format itself, outside of the ridiculous captchas.

The only thing I hate is when phone posting you can’t move the reply box to see under.
There are work arounds of course.
Apart from that, it’s so easily navigable. I have no idea what these lobotomised zoomers are on about.
