I'm reading some articles online saying that time is on Iran's side and it can afford to wait this out. I strongly disagree.No I don't believe the White House narrative that they've completely opened the Strait and everything is wonderful. Even with that though... the impacts of the blockade and economic war are massive. This is a far quicker, more deadly poison than sanctions. And no, Iran's economy hasn't utterly collapsed, but we are now hearing very eerie noises coming out of the foundations. This isn't good. Let us also not forgot that the point of the war was not closing the Strait, but it was simply one tool in Iran's toolbox. That tool doesn't define the war. And given enough time, the US has far more resources and ability at its disposal to find ways around this. You can overuse that tool.Iran needs a decisive end to the fairly quickly. A slow drawn out strangulation is not desirable. I see two paths for this - Either get the Americans to go back to the MoU now. This is not "surrender" (and it was a good deal, but that's an argument that is in the past now). Iran has some leverage it can use for this - both with regards to the Strait & the uranium stockpile. This path isn't closed and it seems like the outside mediators are working on something.Or, if that's not the path, then there needs to be an escalation now to break the pattern. Shooting 5 missiles at Jordan or a few drones at boats won't do it. It has to be something entirely different, out of the box, and game changing.Something that inflicts intolerable pain on the other side that can't be waited out and brings about a solution now. Needless to say this is far more risky.The only example I can think of in recent history would be something like the Israeli pager campaign. Some kind of Trojan horse, a trick. Or in Iran's history something like a Val Fajr 8. Get a new decisive advantage & immediately use that to break the deadlock & end this. A prolonged campaign is certain death.
