venezuelan oil sells for about 75 percent of middle east oil. there are several U.S. refineries that specialize in refining that type of oil.
US refineries literally handle heavy crude better than the light sweet crude AND we get more end products out of heavy crude because our refineries are more sophisticated than those in most other countries. The idiots claiming we can't do anything with Venezuela's oil know nothing about our refining capabilities.
