In episode 09 titled Brain Drain II released on September 1st, 2026 of the remake of The Ghost in the Shell, major Kusanagi suspects that Israel and mossad are behind a false flag attack and that they are attempting to manipulate the Japanese government into funneling resources into Israel.The remake of The Ghost in the Shell follows the original manga much more closely including with the art style being a bit more "cartoonish" but still highly stylized and polished. In the original manga Kusanagi does in fact mention Israel, the director of this episode even wrote the lines with the mention of Israel in tact but when it finally came time to record the lines for the dubbing it was censored almost universally across languages EXCEPT for Latin America for some reason where the mention of Israel was left in for Spanish speaking watchers. In the Japanese and English dubbing of the show Israel is replaced with a fictional nation titled "Ghorantl"
