I was at a bar in town on Friday night. It's the kind of place where Alberta working class guys, truckers, and farmers go to unwind after an honest day's work, a real salt-of-the-Earth type of place. We were watching a local hockey game on the TV and one of the players happened to be named Smith, which prompted people in the bar to start talking about Danielle. My dad (a rancher) said "y'know, I've voted blue since the Mulroney administration but I really shouldn’t have given her a chance. I'm a fool for being so racist and homophobic that I couldn't vote for a Brown rag like Nenshi, they were clearly the best choice." Then the local gun store owner, who is also the head of the local KKK chapter, said “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we need to impeach Pollieve and just vote Carney.” I look around and my face is stunned. All of these hardcore Alberta separatist supporters are shaking their heads in agreement. I heard a couple “yes, sir” and “damn straight”. Everyone started nodding and agreeing. Even the old drunk chug in the corner raised a red eye and said “elbows up!’
