I cant find the GIF but just last night I saw a robot with 4 magnetic feet crawling around inside a boiler and through small gaps doing active inspections and MIG repairs on the fly. I thinki bigger shake up to the industry is going to be the laser welders. They're down to around $5k for point and shoot. As soon as Joe from down the road can pump out perfect precision welds with none of the skill or experience, combined with localized small batch cnc (think sendcutsend) we are in a makers renaissance
