>>543646165Spacex didnt crash I doubt this will
>>543646557>You can ship it to meno~There are so many scams in the GPU market these days that I don't even dare to ship anything by mail. That's because they'll likely strip your chip and graphics memory, then send you back just a heat sink to complete the return.
>>543646726>Spacex didnt crashSpaceX is just heavily hyped, but it’s not a scam. That’s because Elon Musk is actually launching rockets nonstop.Plus, all you have to do is swap out the components inside the rocket to turn a cargo rocket into a missile.Anthropic, on the other hand, is completely different—the company’s entire IPO valuation is based entirely on wild speculation.People fantasize that the company could make hundreds of trillions of U.S. dollars in the future. As it turns out, the company still can’t even turn a profit; it survives entirely on borrowed money. The purpose of this IPO is simply to dump shares, cash out, and walk away.

>>543646165Yeah, I'd be wary of touching this shit because during bubbles everything goes up, and when they pop, everything goes to shit, including the "winners", e.g., Intel and Amazon after 2000. Intel needed 26 years to recover and everyone on the planet used their processors during that timeframe. Imagine being left holding the bag for 26 fucking years, like a fucking baggot. There's no logic to these investments; it's all insider trading, jewish magic, and jewish algorithms that have access to all the data and know how to manipulate the price so they rape and exploit the retailoyimAlso, I wouldn't sell any electronics because they'll make them unaffordable for years. There's even a chance they'll use EMPs or fry your electronics through voltage fluctuations.

>>543649249Some border crossings have no inspection since the brazilian and paraguayan cities united into a single one. In these, you only have to worry about the road police when traveling back home, they will stop you if they see your car has new tires (tires are also way cheaper in Paraguay). In the larger crossings with customs, they are more worried about catching smuggled cigarrettes and drugs. Since there are tens of thousands crossing the border everyday, they will only do through inspections if they have a tip on you or if you try to evade customs. When you cross the bridge to go to Ciudad del Este in Paraguay, you can see a huge mountain of cigarrette packs that were seized.
>>543646462>playing video gamesthere are no games made now that needs any video card of say 1080ti tier. It is telling most people don't have high tier PC's for the actual games that are played - because they don't need them. AAA slop is for morons.

I suck down loads of AI Chinese models are pacing the US ones and are generally cheaper, and when the American ones are cheap it's likely they're a loss leader or ponzi scheme (see: Grok and some Gemini models). Anthropic and OpenAI have literally no future, they are just bags of debt.

>>543652979Could be worse, I bought a new GPU while already well-aware that modern games are pozzed lgbt junk and therefore haven't played any. At least it went up in price since.Yes, anything from 1080 upwards is capable of running text chatbots, image generation and the like. Video generation too if you have 12gb of ram or more or it's not worth it. Processing power wise 1080 is too archaic though, need at least 3060 not to feel the pain. Image generation is easy enough, civitai and huggingface host models. Check out threads in >>>/g/ if you're an upstanding citizen or >>>/trash/ if you're a coomer for more info. Text bots all work but there is a myriad of models to choose from, usually divided by quantization. Weaker models run on weaker hardware but are more lobotomized. Local network transfer is so fast it's like watching a 1:1 from my screen.
>>543646165I was debating it with mine. Would unironically be wise financially to sell it and buy BTC or certain alts right now. The 5090 isn't going to 2x in price from here. It's great for images, video, etc, but it's not enough VRAM for the context you need for agents or long chats.DESU, the 5090 is basically just an infinite porn machine. >>543647972This. It did give me a head start on AI which really paid off once the company wanted to get into local AI though. But outside of that, it's useful for maybe copyrite infringement (which actually was my original plan), tinkering, and porn.
Selling your 5090 is vastly overrated (I'll be keeping mine).
>>543646165Dot.com bubble exploded because 90% of "net" corps back then had no profit no plan and no idea what they are doing besides "we do internet stuff", today Nvidia or AMD are reporting massive profits. It's not the same situation.

>>543656164>I enjoy it knowing my stream looks better than what most poor fags can even play onthat 500 fps is being converted to 30-60 fps and you cant even tell the difference because it's imperceptible. Anything above the refresh rate of your monitor is just killing the silicon. Not a single person has the ability to tell the difference between FPS above 60. Very few can see the difference between 30 and 60.
>>543646165Two $800 5060 Ti 16GB cards in a system with 128GB DDR4 DRAM and a decent CPU can run local LLMs via layering at performance reasonably comparable to that $10,000 5090, at a total system cost of around $3,300. So if local LLMs are your goal, go that route while it's still affordable.
>>543659097>Two $800 5060 Ti 16GB cards in a system with 128GB DDR4 DRAMthat ram is a nogo. The performance of the card depend on the dedicated ddr7 ram on the card itself. The board memory is too slow. Try playing a game purely on system memory, you will get 20fps even with a 5090.

>>543659857>Do you have this setup working for benching? I'm pretty sure no ddr4 board does pci x8/x8 and x16/x4 is too slow for performant layer splittinggood question. I dont think ddr4 is the limitation to it, i think it's the processor that has to combine the cards that doesn't have the ability. Long ago I had three nVidia cards that came with their own SLI bridge that connects them on top. Not sure why this concept went away. Especially in the LLM era. Why even combine it with the processor? IDK. Would be interesting to see the benefits of two x8 vs one x16.
My ddr5 is running at ddr4 speeds and i still get my full x16. It has to run slow because I got that israeli bomb CPU, the one where they put the remote self-destruct microcode into to use against people and it went off early with too high of ram speed.
>>543661066Yeah there's simply not enough lanes. NVlink doesn't use the board for cross gpu talk but the modules are more expensive than a 3090 now and only works on 3 series. Memory bandwidth is almost always the limiting factor.
Don't sell yet.Wait for next year when the fomo goes full force as people realize the bubble didn't pop and you'll make 15k per 5090 at minimum.I'll be thinking about selling my card when we get to those numbers. But if my investments have played out by then, I'll just keep my coom generator because I fucking love this card.
