Why did NATO weapons fail so badly in Ukraine?

At the same time, starting next year Moscow will increase the output of such munitions by another quarter. You are completely mistaken if you really believe that NATO still exists and that Western Europeans will fight the Russians for some godforsaken holes like Romania.
>>544016759its just drones now.

>>544016759>How would you describe warfare now?Fake and gay.
>>544016345All weapons failed in Ukraine, because we are at a technological inflection point. But at least Russian weapons are cheap. Turns out that Soviets were right about survivability of individual pieces of equipment on the modern battlefield, and had the right philosophy of large stockpiles and cheaply/quickly manufactured stuff.

>>544016816What are the implications of NATO ceasing to exist, as you outlined? Will Russia go for the Baltics next?

The all mighty drone. Its cheap, compact and packs a punch. Why spend millions on a slow death copter or a cloaked jet when drony boy wins with plain of sight. Think of a old HDD drive, then the new SDD comes along. Smaller, faster, better. They are banning drones in the usa because they see how effective they can be in war. God forbid citizens have the ability to take out a government jet thats dropping bombs on their hometown when big gov decides they dont need wasteful eaters anymore.

>>544016816You don't need to produce missiles when you aren't using them because you aren't at war dude. If you think NATO can't spin up some factories if it needs to, you're retarded.

>>544016696Because the other tank is never in the line of sight. Instead, a drone is in line of sight, closing fast on the tank, at an angle
>>544018581Cheap Chinese drones are responsible for Ukraine surviving the last four years. That and a steady flow of Western money.
>>544016816Russia is outpouring all EU that is NOT on a war footing whilst russia is literally scrapping the barrel manpower wise (enough workers for war production and enough workers for the front)
>>544017513>If you think NATO can't spin up some factories if it needs to, you're retarded. It's not that simple. You need resources. You also need manpower and debt and inflation. There's a reason European countries were trying to pay as little as possible for defense until recently(to the chagrin of the United States). The only reason Russia can fight this war is because they have practically unlimited resources. Europe is already struggling.
>>544018618That too. But back then in 22-24 when ukraine had fuckall tanks the hand-me-downs came in clutch because ruskies did have a shitload of tanks.Id say the Bradley turned out to be better than the tanks due to their surprising firepower, even against russian tanks and their sufficient armor to survive drone strikes without trapping the crew inside
>>544018720Retard if Europe went to war they would switch to a war economy same as Russia is now, yes they can spin up some missile factories in that scenario.
>>544016345>Oh no one tank
>>544018682Russia is far from being on a war footing. Russia is spending like 6-7% of its GDP on the military. An actual war footing would be closer to 50% with mobilization and rationing and other restrictions/mandates.
>>544018618>Cheap Chinese drones are responsible for Ukraine surviving the last four years. That and a steady flow of Western money.and mass conscription
>>544018814>Retard if Europe went to war they would switch to a war economy same as Russia is now, yes they can spin up some missile factories in that scenario.THAT REQUIRES RESOURCES YOU STUPID FUCKING NIGGER. YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING FROM NOTHING AND EUROPE HAS NOTHING.RUSSIA ISN'T ON A "WAR FOOTING". ITS MILITARY SPENDING IS ONLY SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN AMERICA'S DURING THE "WAR ON TERROR". WHICH IS WHAT EVERYONE SPENT DURING THE ENTIRE COLD WAR. IF YOU ELEVATE SPENDING MUCH ABOVE THAT, YOU WILL CRATER YOUR CIVILIAN ECONOMY. IF EUROPE WANTS TO DO ANYTHING IT FIRST HAS TO IMPORT MORE RESOURCES. WHICH EITHER MEANS IT HAS TO GO FURTHER INTO DEBT, OR IT HAS TO BUY LESS OF SOMETHING ELSE, OR EXPORT MORE, WHICH IT CANNOT DO BECAUSE IT IS GETTING FUCKED BY CHINA SINCE EUROPE IS SPENDING 3X MORE ON ENERGY AND OTHER INPUTS(PROBABLY MORE NOW BECAUSE OF THE IRAN WAR).
>>544019049Yeah poor europe has no resources and Russia has unlimited. Where do you get this stuff?

>>544019075>Where do you get this stuff?Geological surveys. Maybe you should educate yourself you stupid fucking nigger. Canada has resources. Tar Sands, Aluminum, among other things. Where in Europe is the equivalent of the Alberta Tar Sands? Or Middle-East oil?You think you can dig a hole anywhere and oil comes out? Are you fucking stupid?
>>544019049>EUROPE HAS NOTHING.Yeah right. We have one of the biggest coal deposites in the world, a lot of steel and copper deposites and we have enough oil from scandis to wipe out Russia from the map. We just do not mine it all for export because we can export other shit.>SINCE EUROPE IS SPENDING 3X MORE ON ENERGYRetard has no idea. Our high cost of energy is connected to taxation of energy sources and not because we lack energy sources. Just week ago Poland dropped its oil prices by 15% by just cuting taxes. And it was just a fraction of how much it is taxed. If Europe was to go into war economy then all these taxes would go straight to military instead of rapefugees. So better be afraid of Europe waging war you illiterate uneducated retard.
>>544016345what's with haitians posting super hard about SMO lately?>>544016816funny how a russian in one thread states that NATO barely has and barely produces any weaponry but a russian in a different thread says exact opposite >Why are you struggling so much to fight >>544013923 against combined military-industrial complexes and banks of US, EU and others? Are you weak or something?what is it cumrade?

>>544019159So by resources you mean just oil lol
>>544018814That's the neat part, they can't. Industrial capacity in the west has fallen sharply from pre-ww2 levels, not to mention specialized military industry and innovation (look at European history pre-ww2, through early mid 17thC. Shit was cash yo). Producing ww2 era munitions is significantly easier than contemporary munitions. As another anon pointed out, this doesn't even include sovereign capacity to produce and process the required raw materiel, the lack of which precludes advanced military industry regardless of capacity. As an easy example, look at the consumption rates of AA&AAA batteries for dismounted forces. Then look at production capacity (spoiler alert, it's effectively zero). There goes owning the night lmao.

>>544019293would go through so many batteries. even more if they were some no name brand that weren’t the big 2 energizer duracell
>>544019273>So by resources you mean just oil lolNo. I mean basically every single resource. Why do you think Hitler lost WWII? Resources.

This was simply never a decisive weapon in this war, the tank's chief contribution was as shitty indirect artillery, broken up by the occasional suicide run. On both sides.

>>544019224>You know, writing in full capital doesn't make you right. Russia is spending more than 10% of its gdpAnother Western lie. Only 6% of GDP is Russia’s military spending, and counting quasi-budgetary operations — 8%. For comparison: the Soviet Union during World War II allocated 40% to this.Is a 2% deficit normal? It is not just normal — it is negligible against the backdrop of 32% in 1992 and 40% GDP losses in the war.
>>544019589No but I assume keeping normal economy running + war personal requirements + additional menpower for war economy is hard to come by with a population of 100 000 000

>>544019872Your dumbfuckery, for example, led to the fact that in 1939 Ukrainians and Belarusians refused to defend Poland. I go as far as saying that the Ottomans were fairer and more honorable than the russians (and austrians) ever were. At least as far as my country is concerned and 100% true for Poland.

>>544020339Employment in the defense industry is only 5%. By comparison, significantly more people are employed in civilian sectors.
>>544016345The fundamental concepts behind the doctrines they were designed for were actually post hoc justifications to explain how propaganda narratives were possible, and entire generations of officers were trained on propaganda instead of accurate history. For example the OODA loop was invented as an excuse to justify the propaganda lie that American pilots got a 5:1 kill ratio over Korea, when that just never happened. AirLand Battle was designed to replicate the Israeli victory in the 6 day war, but it's based on the Israeli propaganda narrative of the war rather than the actual war. SEAD is like 90% bullshit and has never been nearly as effective as the air force claimed. So obviously the weapons procured to suit the doctrines aren't going to work, since the doctrines are wrong and retarded.

>>544020126They had the largest tank army in Europe next to Russia itself. And they were actually quite good tanks. Mostly heavily modernized T-64s, which are still doing the heavy lifting in Ukraine's army, and a smattering of T-80s, and T-72s.All these modern tanks with modern ammo can kill each other, and all of them are quite well protected. But the current crop of anti-armor weaponry simply dominates the situation, and you can't concentrate them or bring them up to the front line, except as some dedicated FPV magnet.

>>544016345>Russia stopped completely dead by Javelins and mobile rocket artillery Seemed like it worked fine.
>>544020809There is a reason why most of the time we see a tank going up its hatches are all open and it's just sitting there. Generally the crew is long gone. Instant cookoffs are a rarity despite the memes. Also both challies and leos carry ammo internally as well.

>>544021447the most surprising fact about the war for me is that General Infantry has not been obsoleted. both sides (more so russia tho) relies heavily on infantry assaults while with a few hundred thousands of dollars you can completly shut them down with drones.
A rapidly evolving war mixed with donated equipment that's decades obsolete, it's basically a pit of antiquated equipment that nobody's even trained in anymore in a serious capacity, from militaries that have not been in a real conflict in decades.Of course, the experience gap is rapidly crossed as the conflict goes on and the flood of new materiel is fast enough, gradual escalation into higher stages of war basically means they can keep burning through money + men and gain competency through ritual human sacrifice.>>544021373More or less, except there's nothing stopping a tank from specializing to be very good arty, or very good as a drone carrier and command post, or very good any other role really. They just need to specialize more. Such specialization takes time and refinement, and an armored cabin is still better than being unarmored and not on treads.>>544021500Peer-to-peer fights devolve into this. The drones are moved to higher priority missions and less important places are left vulnerable and assaulted by infantry, can't watch everywhere at every point in time until you have automated machine gun turrets (which will be droned so the area they're in becomes vulnerable again)You fight with what you have and you can always bring out better equipment with time and money, but said equipment gets concentrated where it would have an effect and that leaves certain places with less of it that are vulnerable to old shit. There's no magic bullet to this for any conflict that's remotely peer, it's just a question of throwing money + material at the problem.
>>544016345NAFO tanks are outdated, totally inferiorArtillery is so-so, vastly inferior to russianMRLS - a bit worse, russia has more types, only USA produces modern MRLS, othe NAFO members do notNAFO Air defense does not exist, only USA has more or less modern air defense which is also inferior to russianAPC/IFV or combat taxi are better than russian, highly likely whole NAFO trategy was based on delivery of mobilized goyim to frontline (zerg rush)Short range suicide drones - on par, its new weapon type for bothlong and medium range suicide drones - vastly inferior to russianMissiles - totally inferior to russian, nafo does not produce modern missiles, the only capable NAFO missiles were designed during cold war (ATACMS)Non-suicide slow drones (MALE) - totally useless type of weapon that nafo produces, it can be used only in africaBombs and ability to deliver them - totally inferior to russianAirforce - cant be compared because ukrainian and nafo airfoce is not used in frontline, its only purpose is to use outdated planes they have to shoot down drones in deep rarewe can continueNAFO furfags will not calm down until death
>>544021500Drones are part of the assault too. This has become a war of 2 man pairs, but each has drone oversight and command, recon drone support, AA and strike drone support, drone resupply etc - not to mention traditional artillery, and aviation. The tip of the spear has become a needle, but there are a lot of people behind these needles still.
>>544021441You moved the goalposts. At first the discussion was about new types of weapons in WWI, and now it’s about the technologies of 1914. Tanks, chemical weapons, flamethrowers, early aviation, submarines—these are also new types of WWI weapons, and far from all of them immediately produced strategic success.Mark I tanks in 1916 were unreliable, slow, often broke down, and got stuck. Their effect was local and psychological, not strategic. Massed use together with infantry, artillery, and aviation came only in 1918. And on the Eastern Front, new weapons were encountered less often not only because they were designed for the Western Front, but because of the mobility of the front, the size of the territories, supply, and terrain.
>>544021580>More or less, except there's nothing stopping a tank from specializing to be very good arty, or very good as a drone carrier and command post, or very good any other role really. They just need to specialize more. Such specialization takes time and refinement, and an armored cabin is still better than being unarmored and not on treads. They're drone magnets, wherever they show up they end up swarmed with drones. Survival on this battlefield means concealment first and foremost.

>>544021631With all of the new spotting shit literally anything is now a giant glowing target, like they literally glow, when you have modern drones in the air.A tank at least doesn't get 1shitted by a 1,000 dollar drone with a grenade strapped on, so they have to go up the ordinance chain and find something that can handle them. Even when this is said and done modern tanks can do arty shit from miles away and are still more protected than anything else, so taking your drone through miles of prepared defenses to attack a tank and it can't be a cheaper drone is gonna be an added thing they have to worry about. If anything the thing that ACTUALLY obsoleted tanks was hand-propelled rocket launchers all the way back in ww2, but they still have their uses as many of the solutions to that problem are also solutions to the drone problem.
>>544017622Exactly, outsource your failings. Accepting the truth is painful.
>>544019872Not so fast, Goldberg.
i like to imagine dead brits (or mutts) behind this vehicle but unfortunately they are too cowardly to fight by themselves
