Just thought I'd post this here, since you retards love science so much. This is a chart showing the boundaries of flight the Leerjet 60 is capable of. Exceeding this envelope makes the control surfaces of the plane useless and renders the plane uncontrollable.

>Yes, this plane is equipped with an automatic system that tries to prevent you from exceeding the limits.

>Yes, the pilot and copilot both have the ability to override this system.

>Yes, anti-icing can fail, especially on airspeed instruments that are heated using an electric heating element instead of bleed air (most aircraft are like this).

>Yes, a faulty airspeed indicator can cause auto-pilot systems to malfunction, and can prompt pilots to disengage automated systems and resume manual control.

>No, this plane was not required to have a fight data recorder, or "black box" (its fluorescent orange btw, what retard would paint a box that you are trying to find black?).

>Yes, it was required to have a cockpit voice recorder.

>No, I don't think they are getting that back. It's probably in a million pieces after that crash. There's always a chance though.

Do whatever you want with this information. I don't really care.

Okay but how does all of this implicate the woman? If it doesn't then I don't really care.
>>
>>545450205
is the female the one who was on controls at the time? i dont really know anything about piloting planes but i know sometimes the pilot will let the co-pilot have the controls and use the comms, so was she the one flying it at the time? does it matter? were they doomed regardless because of the weather or was it pilot error?
>>
I wonder if they had wind shear... i guess we won't know until the NTSB finishes their work.

From the audio transcription:

>Crew: "-47°C. We're managing the ice, but it is moderate turbulence. We're direct Freeport."

The anti-icing systems were on. At this temperature, liquid rain should not exist.

>"Roger, 2BD. Now we're picking up precipitation. We need to climb 370 if able. 2BD."

They were trying to climb because liquid rain was hitting the plane. The storm caused an updraft that was pushing liquid rain up. At -47C, liquid rain instantly freezes upon touching any surface, including the airspeed instruments. A plane without upgraded anti-icing can be overwhelmed in minutes. This plane does not have upgraded anti-icing.

>"Okay, N722BD, roger, let me know if you need anything else, I'm just working you into my airspace right now."
>Crew: "Thank you. If you have any better ride, let us know. 2BD."

They wanted to turn right to avoid the storm, but were told they couldn't due to traffic.

>"Declaring an emergency, 722BD. We are in an overspeed condition. Descending 20,000 feet per minute."

An overspeed condition means the plane has exceeded its flight envelope and is now a lawn dart.

>tldr

They tried to fly out of the storm, but were told no by ATC. Then super cooled rain started hitting them. Their anti-icing failed, their instruments failed, they couldn't tell how fast they were going, they exceeded their flight envelope, they crashed, they all died.

The main reason nobody likes women pilots radio professionalism. Nobody wants to hear a panicking woman crying on the radio right before she crashes, or at any other time. There are many, many instances of this.

The main issue is how the FAA and NTSB investigate crashes. People think the level of investigation is determined by body count, but its not. Its determined by media coverage. The bigger media shitstorm a crash gets, the more thorough the investigation will be. A 20 year old girl boss crying hysterically right before a crash gets headlines. A 50 year old man accepting his fate and praying does not. Guess which one the FAA would rather hear after a crash?

I'm retarded. Explain me Mach tuck with a webm and no bullshit.
>>
I have access to NEXRAD in my cessna + ATC is constantly broadcasting weather bulletins. There's no way that jet didn't have a weather radar or access to NEXRAD yet they chose to fly directly into a huge thunderstorm with a 40k ft top. They should have never had a cert for that airframe as they were both retards.
>>
>>545450205
>it beocmes uncontrollable
Oh so they lose control of the engines, flaps and landing gear? So they cannot increase the jets drag and reduce its thrust? Wait, it was totally in their control, they responded poorly. Bad pilots = lawn dart.

We need yet more data bro. What would have happened if a female pilot decided to break the windows to better enjoy the outside view for example.
It's nice that we have the actual airline mechanic among us btw.

none. They were just too retarded to avoid a storm because it would have caused them to have to land and refuel.

Avenger is a very basic SAM system, no radars and only uses stinger missiles
They were flying more than twice the max ceiling of a stinger

Not to mention it was pissing it down
That IR seeker isn't seeing shit

why would you give a a fuck at that point

>>545452954
Think of it like this. You are driving on the freeway and there is an upper and lower speed limit. If you exceed the upper speed limit your car starts going faster. You have a couple seconds to deal with the problem before your car is going so fast that the steering wheel and breaks don't work anymore. And it will keep going faster until it breaks apart or hits something.

This is how planes causing at 36,000 feet operate. You are bascially tip toeing next to a cliff. If anything pushes you over towards the cliff, be it your bad decisions, circumstances, etc you have a second to try to get your balance back or you fall.

Point being it is an unforgiving environment and it's possible the environment bit them with out them doing anything acutely wrong.

>she was like indignant. like demanding the tower do something.
To be fair, the atc didn't sound like he gave two shits they were flying into bad weather
>>
>>545450205
So was it technically possible that she prevented the crash or not?
Would not flying into a storm have prevented the crash?
>>
I would just like to say, there is no way I'd be getting on a shitty old learjet.
>>
>>545450205
So the only real way not to die there was avoiding that storm I take it? That's rough, still glad the venture capitalist dipshit is dead though, shame about everyone else.
>>
>>545457746
>your steering wheel breaks
And that stops you from putting it in neutral? Or shutting down the engine(s)? Or opening the doors to increase drag? Etc etc. and theybhad several minutes to do any of this.

Pilots had options. Choose none of them. Died. Bad pilots = lawn dart.

Where were they told no by ATC?
>>
>>545458598
> Would not flying into a storm have prevented the crash?
Yes. 100%.
They were experiencing severe turbulence, not moderate. Their altitude was changing by ass much as 700 feet all at once when hitting the different air pockets and upstreams. This and the extreme icing that took place from the liquid precipitation rising up into the storm cell caused surface instruments to fail and when they attempted to quickly climb 2000 feet to 27,000 the jet didn’t respond as expected due to these things and a catastrophic failure took place on the plane making it un-flyable
>>
>>545457128
You'd be surprised the amount of retardation pilots can be forced into under threat of investigations and having their license pulled. It's a trust thing, "Oh they wouldn't fuck me over". But they would. There've been times where ATC has directed Navy jets to cut in front of passenger airliners that are landing, or sent planes on a collision course that the pilots had to deviate from while ATC chimps out. Having some ground controller stick you right into a massive thunderstorm because of "traffic" is absolutely something they would do, and then your choice is your job or your belief in them knowing what they're doing.
>>
>>545451812
>but were told no by ATC
Declare an emergency, tell ATC what you are doing, and it's now their job to accommodate you.
>>
>if they kept their heading they might have made it
>asked for a redirect and eventually flew directly into the storm
???
Where's the time intervals? If them turning into the storm was the redirect theyre retarded, they had been flying through the storm anyway
