>>18699513the most bored i've ever been watching wrestling. fuck everyone who recommended this match
>>18699584Not enough flips for ya?
>>18699584Fuck, forgot pic
>>18699584Not enough yeets for ya
>>18699513I'm confident no one watched this shit
>>18699513Is this their first match? I remember thinking it might be the GOAT match when I watched it but I never want to see it again.OTOH I've watched Cena/Brock at Extreme Rules 2012 like 5 times
>>18699617
>>18699513First 30mins is slop and literally not needed
>>18699617 I watched it that night then went to a Smackdown house show the next weekend after. I caught multiple conversations of people talking about it in my little podunk Louisiana town even a week later mentioning how good it was and asking why WWE wrestlers can't go that hard. I personally didn't think it was all that great at the time but after a few rewatches and seeing how influential it was (for good and bad reasons) I can agree with OP and cagematch for once
>>18699513>almost a decade ago
>>18699644Oh, the drones won't like this!
>>18699617i couldn't get through it when i tried to watch it
Drones can't handle 60 minutes of wrestling without a dozen adverts and product placements.
>>18699820Not wrestling. Raw literally isn't wrestling. It's not a wrestling show. I don't know why you would expect to see wrestling on there.
>>18699513But enough about Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Minoru Suzuki at KoPW 2012
>>18699644Retrospectively I wish he went to WWE because he didn't really do anything of worth after leaving NJPW and it would have at least been interesting in a bizarro sense to see him in WWE
I don't remember which one it was, probably the first one. and I went in super critical. I knew wrestling had to have only gotten worse since I stopped watching, so how could there be a scale breaking match. The only spot that stood out to me was Kenny getting chopped in his chest then grabbing his leg for no reason. Other than that, it was like watching an 06 dragongate mainevent, you knew they could do cool moves, but they were taking it slow cause they're still working on how to pace a mainevent match and they just know they have to slow down.
watching bloodline fans today trying to be smartasses about new japan is funny af
>>18699887if he went to wwe then at least people would have to stop overrating him and pretending he can wrestle. it would've been like nakamura's run where he got exposed and we just laughed at that shitter for years.that's why he won't go there, he knows he's all hype and it would die instantly
>>18699584Fr
>>18699988both things can be bad
>>18699991I'm not letting the 2020s console war mindset jade my view of Kenny, Kenny in the 2010s was godlike, he was among the best of all time and honestly at his peak, Nakamura was too. He went to WWE after being sawdusted beyond belief, in constant agony and just looking for the big bag to retire on.Plus don't fool yourself AJ has been in WWE for years, done very little of note and people still RIGHTFULLY rate him as one of the best wrestlers ever because they know what he's truly capable of.
>>18699513Not even the best match of that year lmao
>>18699513>greatest match of all time>from the 2010sholy mental illness
>>18699513Naito-Kenny G1 was better
>>18699605kek
>>18700004In all seriousness, I've ripped on the match in this thread for fun but if you shoot think it's bad then you really need to go watch something else besides wrestling.
>>18700013>what he's truly capable of.After Cena and Reigns, people argued Vince's booking was the reason the Nakamura match sucked, why the Joe match sucked. Well, everything AJ has done after Vince has sucked. I do not think AJ went in trying to have a forgettable match with Logan Paul, he's just washed. Kenny is not having nowadays AJ tier matches at all.
>>18699584that part
>>18699584This match literally reimagined what wrestling was capable of and is the most influential match in modern history you stupid dumb fucking e-drone. It changed wrestling forever and why the "indie" scene took over. Also made people care about meltzer stars and why people chase them today. Please stfu and kys
>>18699513Name 1 fucking WWE match you think is better from 2012-til now, I fucking dare you.
>>18700268damn this tranny is mad af LMAO
>>18700192vince booking sucked but a least you can tell it's a wrestling match
>>18700268Many are saying this
>>18700291I fucking love headlocks and ad reads too.
>>18700268>Also made people care about meltzer starsThis mindset is single-handedly what killed professional wrestling
>>18700268It didn't reimagine anything, it was just a mid-2000s Jr, NOAH match in a modern HW main event slot, not to say that's bad, because it wasn't, but you can argue that it's knock-on effect was more bad than good.
>>18700287Calm down obese smelly smark your tits are lactating
>>18700315doesn't matter if you think that, the fact that it worked and people care so much shows how influential it was
>>18700287>I fucking dare you yeah because that list would be pretty long
>>18700153>>18700268both of you fail to understand that wrestling is supposed to be entertaining. it's entertainment. that was not an entertaining match. and no, it didn't resemble a legitimate contest either. so it served zero purpose whatsoever. If i gave out stars, which is a silly thing to do, I wouldn't give it any stars at all.
>>18700268And I mean folks....
>>18700310rent free
>>18700310Headlocks are the ultimate pleb filter
>>18700332wwe today is just viral moments and jey uso matches lol new japan clears
>>18700268This, it also legitimized Meltzer as a Wrestling Scholar and Expert to wrestling fans in general
>>18700315>>18700332that part
>>18700287I liked Gunther vs Sheamus at Clash at the Castle more than any of the Okada vs Omega matchest. Not posting in bad faith because I'm primarily an NJPW fan
>>18700360that shit is sad, I would rather kms than being meltzer
>>18700268>>18700342the match failed to entertain. and there was no suspension of disbelief. not once do you feel you are watching a real match. and it's overlong and self-indulgent to boot. influential but in a very bad way. influential is not always good. this match may have ruined wrestling forever. time will tell. i hope not.
>>18700377There is no way you believe that, cause Gunther vs Sheamus is slow fake rehearsed dogshit. At least Omega vs Okada is real and fast paced. There is actual impact and shit compared to Gunther and Sheamus getting told from the back what move to do next
>>18699887>Retrospectively I wish he went to WWERetrospectively I wish he stayed in New Japan>gedo had booked him to beat tanahashi, becoming the first gaijin to win the Wrestle Kingdom main event>would’ve headlined MSG with okada>was meant to have jay white’s spot in the gold double dash>would’ve worked an actual feud with naito that wasn’t centered around the G1>would’ve gotten the big Wrestle Kingdom match with Ibushi that he’d always wantedI would take even just three more years (2019-2021) of Kenny in New Japan, followed by immediate retirement from injuries, over the seven years and counting of Kenny in either WWE or AEW
>>18700310headlocks is part of the wrestling dont be a fag
>>18700377what were the big spots in those matches lol thats what wwe is missing
>>18700391No, I really believe it, because Gunther vs Sheamus looked like what I loved most out of old Hansen brawls, which was two guys non-cooperatively just laying into each other, trying to make it look legit, nothing was exaggerated, everything looked convincing. It was a great, sloppy dogfight of a brawl.I'm not gonna critique Omega/Okada because they're absolute classics, I just prefer Gunther/Sheamus>>18700413I liked the low-back powerbomb Gunther did and I distinctly remember some of Sheamus' beats being brutal
>>18700387post good jey uso matches to back up what you're saying
>>18699513Not even the best match that yearNot even Okada's best match that yearNot even Kenny's best match that yearNot even the best Kenny vs Okada match. In fact, WK11 is probably the worst match in the series (AEW isn't canon).
>>18700398>Retrospectively I wish he stayed in New JapanWell obviously, I agree, but this is lala land brother, Omega was always leaving NJPW in 2019 because he was getting bigger money everywhere elseIf we're talking pure fantasy yes Omega stays out the rest of his time in NJPW
>>18700287>2012 til nowTaker vs HHH at Mania that year was better than Okada and Kenny
>>18699513.
>>18700461No it wasn't lol
>>18699513What’s the most universally liked match? Like not the best match or the highest rated but the match that NOBODY actively dislikes?
>>18700514mankind vs undertaker because everybody marks for that bump
>>18700514
>>18700475It was thoughbeit. I personally rated it 8 stars on a 5 star scale.
>>18700428I mean Gunther and Sheamus are Based and not ome/okafaggot shit
>>18700332I watch for entertainment.Again, if you're not entertained by that match, you're not entertained by wrestling.I'm not primarily a workrate guy. I've been watching wrestling since the 90s. I like serious stuff and I like goofy stuff that maybe isn't quite so perfect. But that's a solid match. If you don't like that I seriously question whether you enjoy actual "wrestling" at all.
>>18700514Probably like... Austin vs bret or something
>>18700459>Omega was always leaving NJPW in 2019 because he was getting bigger money everywhere elseIt wasn’t set in stone. Kenny started contract negotiations with New Japan in 2018 prior to even meeting Tony for the first time. The Bucks wrote in their book that they didn't seriously consider leaving until Kenny told them he was unhappy with the state of his negotiations. He didn't ask for them to pay as much as WWE would, he didn't ask for them to pay as much as Tony Khan would, what he wanted was to be paid what the company was paying Okada. New Japan had the ability to do that, but not the desire to do so. If they'd given him Okada money he would've happily stayed in spite of the fact that he could've gotten more money elsewhere, and New Japan would've gotten a successful western expansion in return for doing so
>>18700354That's not even relevant to the discussion. New japan had some great wrestlers. This match just happened to be boring
>>18700525this would literally get more people into Wrestling than some 5 star flippy shit kek
>>18700475got 6 stars from me so it actually was better
>>18700461>kickout finisher spam was betternever will be
>Man, I’ll tell you what, just watching that match he had with Okada, that first one, and the second one. The first one’s about 47 minutes. Okada goes over. The second one is a Broadway and it went 60 minutes. And I just think the guy is just very dynamic in the ring. I got a chance to watch him on YouTube doing some promos and I’ve never seen him talk before, who’s fluent in Japanese and he was just talking so much trash. I mean, talking about real trash. It was about getting paid, and about fulfilling his destiny, and a lot of other things. I just think the guy’s a lightning bolt and he just transferred energy. And I just think he’s a dynamic showman, and he has a lot of charisma, and I just think he’s a lights-out performer.[Omega] had a match the first night with Michael Elgin. Michael’s somewhat of a bigger guy. Somewhat of a slow-moving match, kind of, in the beginning, but it was really built, the last five minutes, it was really built. It was really, really good, but [Omega] is just a hellacious performer, bottom line.
>>18700643>Let me pretend to like Omega so the schizophrenic smarks don't harass me like they do to booker t bubba ray and all the other legends
>>18700643Edrones not going to like this
>>18700654kek, the seething cope commences
>>18700573>never will be I mean it literally was tho
>>18700654kek I bet you're one of the loser faggots that tried to get ol Stone Cold cancelled to deflect from Hogan getting shit on after his long overdue Death.
>>18700514Shawn Michaels Vs Carder WM25. The only dislikes you see are from cagematch psychos in their echo chamber and we all know they aren't normal functioning humans
>>18700739It wasn't even better than Bandido vs Hechicero last night
>>18700820You got to understand, WWE is literally the only wrestling that other poster has watched or given an honest chance.Get him to try to watch something else and he'll straight up tell you he's not taking the time to sit through it. That's how intellectually dishonest e-drones are.
>>18700654truke
>>18700811Not a cagematch faggot but that match was literally just finisher spam and dated boomerjerk faggotry that was past it's sell-by-date as reflected by the fact that it tanked the buyrate for it's Manianobody wanted to see those old faggots whack each other off>>18700820>luchashitplease keep it somewhat highbrow
>>18700268this one got them squeelin LOL
My favorite wrestling match is Rock vs. Hogan. (: What's yours anon?
>>18700820who?
>>18700643Kenny looks like a fag here, how does he do it
>>18700884>thinks an overhyped garbage match was the greatest of all timego back to your slop e-drone :)
>>18700884basedrock vs hogan is more artistic than any 2020s match so far
>>18700895Will do. What's your favorite match though, friend?
I don't have the pic anymore but someone break this match down into a flow chart and the numbers showed it was better than taker vs HBK.
>>18699513At bare minimum, it's the most important match of the 2010's. If it doesn't happen: AEW doesn't exist, WWE never tries, and le prodigal son Cody Rhodes doesn't get to ride bullet club's coattails through ROH->NJPW->AEW, and finish his story in the fed
>>18700908Nash vs Hogan, Jan 4th, 1999.Now there was a match, brother. Hogan vs Rock is completely overblown.
>>18699529You just described ever Undertaker/HHH/HBK "epic Mania match" ever
>>18700857Definitely a cagematch poster
>>18700953>>18700268/thread
AJ in japan was just way cooler to me coming from all the TNA stuff. in a way he set the stage for kenny's run after him but kenny is more of a goofball
>>18700884I always struggle with that question but this has never felt wrong as an answer. My other go-tos are Kobashi/Kikuchi vs. Can-Am and Ishikawa vs. Ikeda in FU-TEN :)
It wasn't better than Misawa/Kobashi vs. Kawada/Taue 95
>>18699513G1 2017 was their only good match because it's 20-30 min, the rest are snoozefest.
>>18700315Nope. WWE strangled the life out of the industry, and NJPW and the indies kept the embers burning. It's not a coincidence that WWE were running half filled arenas in the same years where every relevant indie did their best attendances ever, including All In of course.>>18700332Citizen Kane and Shawshank Redemption aren't the most entertaining movies ever. But they're still better and more important than most
>>18701560Was this before or after his brain was removed?
>>18701560>Kobashi/Kikuchi vs. Can-Ambizased that's mine
>>18701753Bizased
>>18701753>>18701789What makes this match so kino? I've heard about the tags with the other 4 pillars a lot more.
>>18701809It's less of a story of four legends going up against each other and more two underdogs going up against two bullies. The match is held in Kikuchi's hometown and the crowd is white hot for him, the spot from my webm is literally in the opening minutes of the match. If you're the kinda guy who's easily swayed by a crowd you'll love it. Genuinely the best audience I've ever seen.
>>18701560>Ishikawa vs. Ikeda in FU-TENdangerously based
>>18701809It's got one of the hottest crowds ever. They went bananas for everything, especially anything involving Kikuchi.
>>18700268fpbp
>>18700268You say all of this like any bit of this is positive. You really are stupid.
>>18703082Go watch your gay fucking france show e-drone
>>18703065I don't think I've even seen a bad FU-TEN match, it's basically Battle Arts with an insatiable lust for headbutts.
