This is when Vince started going really senile
>>
>>18746828
2017-2021 is worse. 2019 WWE was so bad it helped launch an immediately successful AEW. Of course AEW screwed it all up, but still. Bray Wyatt put on all time bad matches and angles for years too.
>>
>>18746828
2009-2010 at least still had some star power to carry it. what bothered me the most about that era was the change in production, it felt so sterile and soulless, from the set to the camera angles
>>
>>18746814

>I didn’t watch- to anons that watched both this era and 2009-2010: what was worse?
2019 WWE was far worse. Like any point in wrestling it still had a few good things going on but there was so much garbage. Early 2010s though, like 2012, 2013 etc when they started the Raw Supershow shit will always be worse than either of them to me though
>>
>>18746814
It doesn't get worse than the dogfood/beans saga between Roman and Corbin/Roode.
Nia Jax slamming Lana through a table for 8 weeks in a row or however long was also noteworthy for just how inexplicably bizarre it was.
>>
I actually thought Brains Strowman was a dimes gimmick
>>
>>18746814
Yeah see I know you're a zoomer because you didn't immediately go to the guest house era. Like the worst WWE has had to offer in the past 10 years. Still doesn't equate to how bad it really was during that time frame
>>
>>18747088
>House

Stupid voice to text
>>
>>18746900
I watched that era on occasion because of The Rock’s involvement. It was definitely bad and didn’t fully pull me back in, but I think it was better than 2009-2010, probably 2006-2007 also. 2008 was an underrated year in between a lot of garbage.

I find that 2020 - 2021 was even more batshit than 2018 - 2019, especially once Covid hit and they stopped giving a fuck.

However I think the main difference is 2018 - 2019 was so bad it was boring while 2020 - 2021 was so bad it was kino, in the same way that The Room is.

Reminding you all of 2020 - 2021:

WWE’s dark years are 2024-Now actually
>>
>>18747761
Then why does everyone keep going to the shows? During the actual dark years, they were getting 5k for their weekly shows and the crowd would be dead unless Orton was there. I remember there was a meme for a while that orton was the only over guy on the show. Now they have like 20-30 wrestlers who are over as fuck.

Vince's dementia booking was awesome

For me it was Mysterio drama.
>>
>>18748884
I get why they cancelled it in that it was a complete booking nightmare because how do you navigate The Fiend who is being booked like an actual supernatural monster who can take multiple curb stomps onto a tool box and just get up like it's nothing vs Brock Lesnar who wants to be booked strong too and will use creative pull if he has to do Fiend shenanigans and then how do you make Adam Cole look like he even stands a chance against these two and not completely bury NXT
>>

and yes I posted this unironically and looked at each example individually

>Gets called up to Smackdown
>Does his Lone Wolf gimmick for a while, mostly floats around the midcard doing US title stuff
>Wins Money in the Bank
>Failed cash in
>Gets drafted to Raw

>Ends up becoming Happy Corbin, a Rich Gambler Gimmick with his prankster sidekick Madcap Moss where they laugh a lot
>After a while Vince gets bored of that and Corbin stops being used
>Returns as Baron Corbin again like a year later, with JBL as his manager and his new nickname is the "New Wrestling God"
>Lasts really short
>Corbin ends up demoted to NXT again, starts doing the Lone Wolf gimmick and goes back to his old theme
>Turns Face for the first time in years

I don't even think this was Ambrose's worst gimmick. It was probably his post Shield Pre-This gimmick one where he was coined as "Wacky" and the "Lunatic Fringe" and he'd carry around a plant pot as it was SOOoOoO Wacky and had his own Ambrose Aslyum match and his finisher was the Wackyline.

There was nothing specific the show was just bad. Corbin was dimeless, they were still trying to get Main Event Babyface Roman over with a John Cena-Esque Overcomes the Odds style babyface gimmick, Steph and Trips were all over TV burying the talent, Lesnar would win the title in a half assed match then fuck off for like three months so there was no world title around.

So Triple H did this promo along the lines of "Ohhh I don't like it, I'm gonna complain on the internet then me and my friend Mark are gonna stop watching! See you next week." Except it actually gave people a clue and they started switching off. Causing them to initiate panic mode and do that pathetic begging promo.

I still maintain that the Authority Era of 2013 - 2018 was the worst Era of WWE even worst than now, even worse than Covid. Cause at least schizo Vince booking from 2019 - 2021 was funny to watch.

Nobody even properly beat the Authority for them to disband, they just quietly disbanded because they realized they were ratings cancer.

The only exception was 2016 Smackdown when the draft first started which was pretty good.

Nobody expected Kofi to win, but we were expecting a good match like what Brock had shown us previously against Daniel Bryan & AJ Styles. Kofi got squashed. Then they made it worse by having Kofi immediately be his happy New Day self again and act like he was never the world champion to begin with. They could have put the belt on Brock without any of the backlash, instead, they handled everything in the worst way possible.

Ziggler kept managing to get himself mega-over and they buried him every time for it. MitB cash-in, this, and then the career vs. title match against the Miz. Any one of those times was a great moment to push Dolph and instead, they made sure to bury him every time. Such a fucking waste.

why did brock want to work with AJ. i cannot imagine brock wanting to put on a bangerino so long as he gets paid. i'm frankly surprised he even cared enough to have an opinion about not wanting to work with jinder.
>>
>>18752378
I remember thinking that Dolph completely stole the show. Sting seemed like a secondary point to me, which is likely precisely why they got pissed at Dolph. After that amazing performance, they made sure to have Dolph get immediately eliminated in the Royal Rumble and tossed out like trash. It was clearly a punishment.
Then he has the banger feud against Miz and their amazing match. The crowd was so hype for that. People had heard the rumors that Dolph might be leaving wrestling to do other things, so people genuinely didn't know if Dolph would win or not. At the start of the match, half the crowd was smarking it up and cheering against Ziggler. By the end, everyone was on their feet and screaming for Ziggler's incredibly emotional win. This was also a huge elevation for the Intercontinental Title. For the first time in a long time, it felt truly important again. So what was the followup?
It seemed promising as Dolph had a match against Curt Hawkins in which he squashed him for a quick win. Nothing major, but it was a good sign of things to come. After that there was a rematch with The Miz in which The Miz won by kicking Dolph in the balls. Such a fucking letdown.
>>
>>18752282

IIRC he wasn't really sure if he wanted to do more amateur wrestling, WWE, or MMA. So he half-assed training because his heart wasn't in it. Even if he tried I think he was a charisma vacuum though.

This thread is great I forgot half this dumbshit.
>>
>>18752388
He was DOA after that sexual assault charge.
Supposedly he was also a major pain in the ass in his training sessions, which is even worse because he wasn't even working with the PC coaches, they gave him one of the old timers that only get used when they absolutely "don't want this guy to fuck up". I can't remember which one they had overseeing him (Think it might've been Brisco but don't quote me on that) and whoever they trust to work with him but he just didn't give a shit.
>>
>>18752442
Yeah I agree. He really should've tried to pull a Cody before Cody did. Probably wouldn't have been as successful but a TNA or New Japan run earlier could've had a spot for him further up the card when he came back
>>18752447
I think he could've been at AJ's level for a while. Not a consistent main eventer but at least a credible threat to them, with a brief WWE title run. But the last time I remember him challenging for the top belt was against Dean where the feud was "you always choke" and Dean was right because they kept him in the midcard too long
>>
>>18752460
That's a 2016 one. I think Bayley's "This is Your Life" dud happened around then too, maybe a year later.
>>18752438
Brock is legitimately professional enough to work and make guys look good if he knows he make them look good. He worked his ass off for Finn, AJ, Rollins probably a few more that I'm forgetting. He only buries you if he sees absolutely no value in it (Jinder) or if you bring him retarded ideas that he knows won't make him look good (Dean).
>>
>>18752442
dolph should have left the company in 2015 after they didn't get behind him despite mass fan support.
if you go back and watch the 2015 rumble, there are maybe 5 wrestlers that didn't get booed for not being daniel bryan. it was like, wade, dean, mizdow and dolph, and probably at least one other i can't recall.
that was both the correct time for the WWE to go all in on him, and for big zig to leave and build a name for himself outside of WWE if they didn't. instead they both fumbled.
he asked for his release in 2023 but it was way too late then.

I'd actually have Cole pin Lesnar. I have no idea how we get there but it would be hilarious. If Brock was shot dead in the ring I think his corpse could still kill Cole, that's how bad of a mismatch this is. It would probably kill the fiend character and Cole's push at the same time. So win-win.

They tried their absolute hardest with her multiple times. Turning her face, turning her heel, using her military background as a gimmick, giving her a southern belle gimmick, having her just randomly walk onto the stage and walk off every thing, pairing her with Ric Flair, at one point she was on both Raw and Smackdown at the same time but she was a face on Smackdown and a Heel on Raw????

Then after she's released she has multiple interviews with CVV, a bunch of podcasters etc. where she straight up says she has no passion for wrestling, just saw it as a way to get good money, to get on TV, and didn't care about working harder and won't wrestle again. And the reason she wasn't that good in the ring is because she didn't care enough to try to improve. That was apparently enough to make Vince go "OH, NEXT TOP FEMALE STAR"

But eh, once Vince sets his eye on something, it's set.

I know that was his reason for pushing Austin Theory or as he renamed him "Theory". He thought Theory was very handsome and that all the women would be attracted to him and all the men would be jealous of him and he'd be the next Shawn Michaels style of handsome heel.

They gave him a match with John Cena at Mania so that John Cena would give him the rub and the thumbs up and then when working with him Cena gave him the thumbs down and eviscerated him in promos to the point Theory just ended up looking worse even though he won against Cena at Mania, the damage was done by Cena's promos. A lot of them were unscripted so Theory had no idea what to do and it was just Cena drumming in the point that Theory is not the guy. Then after the match with Cena, Cena gave him a further thumbs down hence why they cooled down on him for a bit after that win. But then a few months later Vince was all "OHHH THEORY!!! again"

I always find it funny that the transition between Vince and Triple H happened when Theory held the MITB, and Paul was like "Nahhhh no way you're holding a world title" and just had Theory cash in on the US title.
