Wrestling is so utterly horrible right now. Has anyone else completely checked out of watching and is just shitposting at this point?
>>
>>18820400
I haven't watched regularly in 17 years.
>>
Same here. AEW is and has always been overrun with reddit faggotry

The post Vince honeymoon period is over for HHH and WWE. cody beating Roman was the end of the story then Punk Drew HITC was the last kino. Cena's retirement run was botched. TKO overplayed their hand on the price gouging.

Only things to keep up with in wrestling

Juggalo Wrestling on YouTube
WWE and WCW vaults on YouTube
The AAA shows on Youtube are decent
NXT is fine for one weekly tv show. The women are hot, Booker T is funny, the Impact Zone vibes are comfy

Your best bet is to sift thru YouTube and tubi for hidden gems
>>
I pulled the trigger and got a membership to watch CMLL live streams on YouTube. Shit is so much more fun to watch than US wrestling rn
>>
>>18820454
Totally agree with you about Punk and Drew being the last good thing WWE has done on tv.

But I think AEW has a lot of good talent and potential. The problem is Tony has that gay indie smark disease and thinks making a small reference to an indie show in a rec center in 2016 counts as good storytelling. He has too much pride to ape the good aspects of Vince's style of booking, so the second biggest wrestling promotion has mudshow quality booking. And the company is so disorganized and no one is trained properly so the angles and matches are so illogical and messy and ridiculous most of the time. It's very frustrating.
>>
Literally only watch older wrestling now. I’m so much happier.
>>
>>18820400
yeah i haven't really watched since Mania 41. I check out NXT ppvs sometimes or if a match is hyped here (which is rare) but that's it. i might check out the AEW and WWE ppvs on that day they clash but probably not, maybe just cena vs brock
i don't even watch old stuff right now
>>
There's some decent stuff, but there's absolutely no reason to watch the weekly shows and honestly it's been that way for me at least since the crash tv style of booking died out in the early 2000s.

I'm not saying go back to that, but it would be nice to see shit happen on a week to week basis.
>>
>>18820400
Yep, I gave up on the current shows. I find Raw and Smackdown in particular to be genuinely disgusting. AEW is directionless and caught in a ourobouros. If I watch something recent, it's either japanese or mexican, but I'm not disciplined enough to watch each monthly event. Indies suck as well.
Youtube, fortunately, is still a goldmine for all things wrestling related. At least you can still watch Sakuraba NOAH matches on it, or crazy ass USWA. Which really makes you wonder why anybody would give a shit about Seth Rollins.
>>
>>18820400
I haven't sat down and watched any wrestling in a long time. I just keep up with the news and gossip for whatever reason.
>>
>>18820400
I pretty much just watch AEW PPVs and some WWE highlights on their YouTube. Haven't been to a show since 2022

It's all homogenized slop. Mid 2000's indie style wrestling has somehow completely overran every facet of the the industry, from the top promotions to the smallest indies. Absolutely no new ideas on presentation or booking. Just the same tired shit.
>>
>>18820616
That's a good point. Shawn's NXT, in theory, was supposed to bring about a different flavor of wrestling with its roster's typically more legit athletic background coupled with silly TV antics, but it definitely took a turn toward typical indie style wrestling when all the AEW rejects and returns and TNA crossovers started happening. The Chase U storyline was fresh and awesome for example, and I certainly prefer that to whatever Ethan Page is doing.
>>
>>18820400
I legit only watch the PPVs at this point. I don't keep up with regular weekly TV. Don't really pay attention to the other promotions either because each fandom seems to be so territorial and combative. Wrestling fans are sometimes really dumb.
>>
>>18820454
ticket prices are fucking INSANE aren't they?
>>
>>18820454
The Cody-Roman stuff was so fucking good. We should have known it was never going to stay that good for long

Unironically wrestling news and real-life drama is more interesting than the show itself.

I just have RAW and Smackdown on in the background. I'll sit and watch the people I'm interested in but 90% of the time I don't care.
The only worthwhile stuff nowadays to me are the Royal Rumble matches, the WrestleMania main event and promos with good talkers. Everything else isn't fun. PLEs are too long.

AEW has great promos which I think /pw/ overlooks, but everything else about that company is awful.
>>
>>18820454
>Watch WWE
>15 minute Becky lynch scripted heel promo with her shitty acting
>Watch AEW
>1-2 minutes of scripted shit some times theydo shoot scripts and straight to action

yea fuck the E they are focusing too much on Acting.
>>
>>18820736
you and i, we should form a faction...we're the only smart posters on this board.
>>
>>18820400
yeah I haven't been that interested in wrestling since WM41, I watched AEW for a bit after the Owen (watched the entire tournament until All In) but also lost interest after Hangman won the title.
sometimes I look at the card or if something interesting is supposed to happen (like AJ Lee's return, which I also watched) and decide if I'll put it on for some background noise while I endlessly scroll through my phone. WWE feels soulless and AEW isn't good enough to make me want to watch it every single week.
>>
>>18820400
Stopped giving a shit post Punk v Drew. Don't even bother watching the clips anymore. Hunter should be given the fucking chair for his dogshit booking. Obviously that's not the only thing wrong with the place.
AEW has pretty much everything that WWE is missing but it lacks the "It Factor" that makes me want to give a shit about it. Not to mention all the gymnastics, unnecessary female gore and Tony's autism (all of it easily fixable but there is no effort).

Also checked.

> Wrestling is so utterly horrible right now.
Then why are you here?
>>
>>18820968
I feel like there's some kind of relationship between you calling other things soulless and doomscrolling your phone for hours at a time, unable to concentrate on and enjoy what's going on around you
but I could be wrong
>>
>>18820400
The people with money have no ideas, the people with ideas have no money, it's all very extreme, like unpredictable stuff is impossible so let's ride the mid2000s main eventers until they die or quit
>>
>>18821323
They no longer enjoy wrestling so they hope that by making other people feel bad about enjoying it, they can feel better.
Think Alcoholics Anonymous, but instead of commiserating with each other, they go to bars and tell everyone how stupid they are for drinking
>>
>>18821327
You're right. If there were no other form of entertainment, I would probably enjoy this slop
>>
>>18821295
>AEW has pretty much everything that WWE is missing
I have no idea what you could possibly mean by this
>>
>>18821335
Weird way of admitting you have 0 hobbies or other ways to keep yourself entertained other than staring at screens
>>
>>18821362

One of the primary criticisms of modern women is that they have no hobbies, and they primarily use their free time staring at screens, expecting others to entertain them

As far as the actual wrestling part of the show is concerned, AEW puts out more interesting matches weekly. I mean, do you honestly enjoy the wrestling you see on RAW and SD? Even their PPV match quality is ass. I cannot fucking believe that there are people who are retarded enough who pay to go see this nonsense in person.
And keep in mind, both companies have amazing stars in their respective rosters. WWE seems to have the overall advantage here because their locker room apparently is not as messy as AEW's and also they still know how to turn the attention of their audience (as retarded as they may be) towards their chosen toys.
Tony sucks ass in this department despite not having many of the limitations that WWE have (PG, No Blood, Limited styles and banned moves, etc...). he keeps throwing shit against the wall, hoping it would stick (as in "elevate the whole brand") but it never will. Death matches, allowing wrestlers to do bat shit crazy spots, more freedom for wrestlers behind the mic compared to the bullshit scripts of WWE, none of it seems to work.
What's fascinating is that despite all of that, seeing shit get thrown at the wall is WAY more interesting than watching WWE to me. And keep in mind that AEW is still nowhere near as good a brand as it could be, and it's also associated with severe levels of autism and retardation.

Also you might call me retarded, but I much prefer Schiavone, Taz and the masked cunt over the new WWE commentary teams. Cole is just embarrassing to listen to these days and I could give two fucks about others.
>>
>>18821459
Oh hey look, it's yet another edition of
>Every wrestling fan except for me (but possibly me as well) is retarded

Never ceases to amaze me how solipsistic so many of you are. It hurts you to your core that people can go out in public, to shows, to concerts, and genuinely have fun without staring at their phones repeatedly. And the sickest part? Most of those people get home and they aren't staring at their phones endlessly then either. They have chores, hobbies, phone calls to make, workouts to get done, things to do. Amazing concept, isn't it? To not be sitting around with a wrestling figure crammed up your ass, expecting a wrestling TV show to fully immerse you in it's fantasy wonderland, and make you forget about your own unremarkable existence for hours at a time.

No wonder we see all the complaints about commercials. No wonder we see the shitfits when gamethread circlejerks get interrupted. This is how profoundly emotionally disabled people operate: everything must cater to them and, if/when necessary, nobody else. Sick way to go about life.
>>
WWE is 99% unwatchable. Every now and then you get some kino like when the Final Boss was calling the shots, but I genuinely find the current product every bit as bad as the schizo Vince era. AEW is better, but the hype is long gone and I don't think it'll ever be truly exciting again, but I still try to catch the shows most weeks. TNA is dead to me after 20 years watching. I don't watch or care about much else. I just watch old shit 80s-2005ish.
>>
Everyone in AEW is too reddit or PWG to know how to be a star like The Rock or Hogan

No one in WWE is allowed to cut loose like Stone Cold.

There's no ECW that's cool enough to call out sanitized bullshit
>>
>>18821673
No Stone Cold
No Hogan
No Rock
No Crow Sting
No Lex Luger
No Outsiders
No Road Warriors
No Steiner Bros
No Goldust
No Dennis Rodman
No Vader
No Sid
No Cactus Jack
No Terry Funk
No Paul E. Dangerously
No Easy E Bischoff
No Shane
No Vince

The best wrestlers are not normal human beings. The current crop can't cut it

I never thought i'd end up watching indie shows because indies are pretty shit but i ended up watching indies more than any of the shit from WWE and AEW. I'm not bothering with TNA. AAA and CMLL are pretty decent. Juggalo Wrestling is decent as well. But overall, the major companies (WWE/AEW etc) are making me lose interest on them.

you've been trying to peddle that shit for weeks. fuck off.
>>
>>18820400
everything is so predictable you know every move thats going to happen 97% of the time. you know who is going to win 99% of the time. everyone is boring on the mic. punks wifes big return promo was about her going to therapy
>>
WWE is just really boring and loaded with filler. Every entrance is drawn out, every promo has to be minutes long and drawn out, matches are almost always dull because of the WWE style.
>>
it's always been this way
I remember laying on the couch pulling my eyeballs out in the early 2000s
at least now you can skip ahead with streaming
>>
I think at a local shindie show you see a wider range of different acts than you do on TV these days. A lot of the Private Party, 4'9" Japanese woman, fat transgender woman stuff from early AEW that I feel nostalgic about wasn't, like, good.
>>
>>18820400
I just read about what is going on and too see how rock bottom terrible all the new "talent" is.
>>
>>18824525
that's a truer form of wrestling since it's still more based on audience interaction and working the crowd than working the investors
>>
>>18820454
I wonder if it's just me, it probably is...
Knowing how extortionate the ticket pricing is makes me feel a bit disgusting for watching WWE shows.
I'm not even there, I'm not holding a ticket, but there all those people sit, knowing full well that they just spent up to $5000 to see a shitty soap opera with interspersed sports choreography.
>>
I'm going to a deathmatch show ok November and that's really all I'm interested in at this point
>>
>>18820493
give me some old matches to watch
>>
I started watching wrestling (WWE specifically) for the first time in like 10 years recently. I guess the beauty of Netflix is catching it after it airs and then fast forwarding through the shit parts

really the only wrestlers I find interesting are
>Cena (only because of this being his final year)
>Dirty Dom
>Gran Americano
>Penta vs New Day
>Cody kind of

don’t give a shit about anything else. Especially anything relating to Seth/Punk/Becky/AJ Lee/the Usos/Brons/LA knight. All boring shit
>>
>>18820454
>e-drones be like: WWE is slop therefore all wrestling is bad

And they're almost pitiable until you remember they're e-drones.
>>
More a CMLL than a wrestling fan, so right now I'm happy
>>
>>18820400
Since 2001
>>
I only enjoy the entrances and big spots during a match.
>>
>>18820400
i Just took a massive dump Bro
