now that the dust has settled...Was it the right call to have sami lose?
>>18840399No, but also I'm in the camp that thinks Roman should have lost to Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle even earlier.
>>18840409>sami always loses to drew>drew always loses to romanit's kind of cool when wrestlers have one specific other wrestler thats like their kryptonite
>>18840399For the story of the bloodline? probably not.For the story of Cody winning at WM40? Yeah for sure. And to be clear, they made the right decision because it made Cody the biggest babyface and moneymaker possible whereas Sami has a ceiling and Triple H has shown he doesn't know how to really book Sami well.>>18840409I'm a Drew guy so I actually agree.
>>18840409you could legit tell drew was shoot depressed for like half a year after losing to roman. wonder if the initial plans were different or something. he really had booboo face that day
even if sami won. where the fuck would they even go from there? face vs face at mania? roman winning it back via cheating right before mania?to be honest. the fans would have hated it but I always thought it would have been a better idea to have had roman brutally squash sami in this match to get heat.
>>18840399It wasn't right to do this match here period. They fucked over the entire story Roman and Sami spent that year building just to shove Cody back into things and even worse just to have him lose. Given the reaction of Sami turning at the Rumble I'd argue the reaction Sami would've gotten beating Roman for the belt at Mania would've been even bigger than what Cody ended up getting. Such a fucking waste of the best story WWE had in its hands in years
>>18840409For sure. I'm someone who'd argue Sami should've won it, but Drew 1000% should've beaten him at Clash. Even more so Edge should have won it at that prior Mania. To have him have his miracle return and that Mania be exactly 10 years to the day he had to give up the world title is a story you couldn't write if you tried, and if you did it would be called too unrealistic. And they pissed it all away just for Roman to rack up some numbers that ultimately didn't end up meaning a goddamn thing. That reign was the worst thing to happen to WWE's booking in a long time. They pissed away so many career defining moments between Edge, Drew, and Sami all for fucking nothing in the end. Roman could've won it back after each one of those and still done the shit with Cody. It's not like he actually broke any record
>>18840421I agree.I liked that Kevin Owens could never beat Dean Ambrose.
>>18840399Yeah. Would have been a good pop, but the day turns to wtf wby is this dimeless fag champ? I guess they could have booked him to win and then bury him in a squash by literally anyone immediately on the next show.
>>18840631that part. Cody being the one to beat Roman because "muh daddy" was fucking retarded.
>>18840766Yeah to go from something so personal with the relationships they had built between Roman and Sami and Jey and Jimmy and everyone just to go to something so impersonal to that 'my daddy' shit made it so much worse too. Not only could they have had Goldust come back and do that exact story with him by that logic, but anyone could've been the champion there. It didn't matter that it was Roman. The Bloodline didn't matter. Nothing that happened between them over the past year had mattered. It pissed away so much for nothingThinking back on it actually makes me seethe kek
>>18840790that's why even The Rock between Roman would've at least tied into the Bloodline storyline. Cody and Gaytch ruined everything again.
>>18840451i somewhat recall their being reports that Drew was gonna go over originally but they changed plans because Roman didnt want to do it
>>18840819I just know Drew's gonna talk mad shit when he's done wrestling.
>>18840421aj styles always gets pinned by samis blue thunder bomb when they face
>>18840819Hadn't heard this before. Can't say I believe it either considering that's where they debuted Solo
>>18840863Looks like we finally found the one thing we can agree on
>>18840876ok?
>>18840876yikes
He really jumped between IP addresses just to seethe over me. I didn't realize how much you cared Trevor
