There's no holding me back
I'm not driven by fear, I'm just driven by anger
And you're under attack, I'm just climbing up slowly
I'm the one and only, and the tease, the ways
The lies stumble in your mind
The fear, the hope inside, they hit here, hit here
But, whatever you need, 'ever you got
'Ever you want, I'll take back again
Whatever you need, 'ever you got
'Ever you want, I'll take back again (Oh)

It's not worth talking about because we already knew she would never show up in TJPW. >A high school girl who was indifferent becomes the star of the ring—Arisu Endo talks about "the coincidence that changed her life"

>The Tokyo Princess Cup, a tournament dubbed the "Summer Koshien of Women's Professional Wrestling," is a prestigious event in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. This year, while Arisu Endo finished as the runner-up, she earned even greater praise and recognition. A girl who had no interest in professional wrestling found herself performing on the ring due to a twist of fate, and through another stroke of chance, she became a professional wrestler. Her extraordinary journey has now brought her within reach of the championship belt. Ahead of her fateful match, Arisu Endo reflects on her wrestling career.

>"I’m the kind of girl who attracts opportunities, you know? If that wasn’t the case, there’s no way someone like me, who had zero interest in wrestling, would be standing in the ring of Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, competing in a title match. It’s like I just keep pulling in these chances, hehe!"

>That’s what Arisu Endo, an active professional wrestler in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, said with a laugh. As she herself admits, she had no interest in wrestling before becoming a pro. Yet this summer, she achieved a remarkable runner-up finish in the prestigious Tokyo Princess Cup tournament, earning significant attention from wrestling fans.

>The spark that started it all wasn’t wrestling or wrestlers.

>It began when her father took her to a wrestling event. There, her eyes and heart were captivated—not by the matches, but by the girls singing and dancing in the ring. They were part of Cheer1, a mascot girl group for WRESTLE-1, a promotion led by Keiji Muto. Arisu’s eyes sparkled as she thought, “There are people doing this kind of thing!” She later auditioned and joined the group as a new member.
>>
>>18844544
>Through this twist of fate, stepping into the ring became part of her daily life. But for her, the ring was merely a “stage.” She had absolutely no interest in fighting.

>“My dad even said to me, ‘You’re not going to tell me you want to become a wrestler, are you?’ And I was like, ‘As if I could do something like that!’ Honestly, back then, the idea of becoming a professional wrestler never even crossed my mind.”

>However, just a year after joining, Cheer1 announced a hiatus. At a crossroads, wondering what to do next, Arisu Endo happened to catch a glimpse of match footage featuring Reika Saiki, a muscular standout who was thriving in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling at the time. “What is this? It’s amazing!” she thought, completely captivated. This led her to make the bold decision to join Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. Fortunately, she was already accustomed to being in the ring, so there was no hesitation.

>Indeed, for a girl who had no interest in wrestling to become a professional wrestler through a series of coincidences, she might just be a “lucky charm” or, as she puts it, “a girl who attracts opportunities.”

>That said, to be honest, after becoming a wrestler, she struggled to fully seize the opportunities that came her way. She managed to become a tag team champion, but for a long time, she found herself stuck just one step away from greater success. When she finally won a belt, her reign ended in humiliation after less than six months. Meanwhile, her tag team partner, Suzume, went on to achieve great success as a singles competitor, capturing the International Princess Championship (Arisu challenged for the same belt but fell short). Despite her knack for attracting chances, Arisu found herself unable to fully grasp them for quite some time.

>Still, Arisu Endo never gave up and kept fighting. She was supported by the cheers of her fans and the unwavering encouragement of her family.
>>
>>18844551
>“The fans always gave me warm support, even when I lost. And I really felt the importance of my family, too. The day before the summer tournament started, my dad suddenly called me and said, ‘I’m coming to see you now.’ He lives in Fukushima, you know. He didn’t even have time to grab a meal with me—he just showed up, saw my face, and said, ‘Do your best starting tomorrow!’ Then he left. But that one sentence lit a fire in me. I was like, ‘I’m seriously going to give it my all!’”

>With renewed determination, she entered the tournament. Her block was filled with formidable opponents, making a breakthrough seem daunting, but she steadily and surely won match after match. Her performances earned high praise from fans, and expectations for her first tournament victory grew. Over the course of the summer, she earned the trust and respect of fans as a wrestler. Facing tough singles matches against strong opponents week after week in a grueling, do-or-die tournament format was no easy feat, but overcoming those challenges profoundly changed Arisu Endo’s mindset.

>“I kept thinking, ‘Get stronger, get stronger!’ and then I realized, ‘Wait, I *am* getting stronger!’ It really boosted my confidence. I realized I could do this much. I was incredibly nervous stepping into the ring for the final, but I told myself to hold my head high. The huge cheers from the crowd as I entered the ring really supported me!”

>Although she lost to Miu Watanabe and couldn’t claim the championship, Arisu Endo’s performance in the match earned her even greater acclaim. Still, she couldn’t hide her frustration at once again failing to seize the opportunity.
>>
>>18844554
>“Even before becoming a wrestler, I’ve never won an award or medal on my own. In sports, any victories were always as part of a team, right? So, this tournament was my first real chance to win a trophy all by myself. But when I got home and faced the reality of returning empty-handed, I felt crushed. That’s exactly why I’m determined to grab the next chance no matter what!”

>On September 20, at Ota City General Gymnasium, Arisu is set to compete in a title match to determine the new International Princess Champion, a vacant belt. Given her standout performance this summer, it’s a well-deserved opportunity.

>“My opponent is incredibly strong—Jada Stone, a formidable American wrestler—but I want to face her with confidence, as the ‘me’ I am right now, without overthinking. Honestly, I have no idea what Jada might bring, so I’m a bit nervous, but I’m not scared (she says firmly). This time, I’m going to win that medal on my own! Once I’ve got the International belt around my waist, I want everyone to come challenge me—Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling wrestlers, foreign wrestlers, even aliens or animals, I’ll take on anyone!”

>Will she finally seize this chance, or will she once again come agonizingly close only to fall short? All eyes are on this title match, where she’s putting her life on the line!

>“There’s nothing that resonates. Don’t take pro wrestling lightly.”
>In May 2022, the YouTube series Yume Pro-Wrestling – dream on the ring – began streaming. In the middle of the project—where four women with no pro-wrestling experience challenged themselves in the ring to pursue their dreams—Aja Kong appeared as a guest coach. After watching their practice, she mercilessly declared those words. Training for elbow strikes began. The women shouted at the top of their lungs as they threw elbows at Aja, but tears wouldn’t stop streaming down their faces. “How can you be crying when you’re the ones doing the hitting? Knocking someone down is that serious of a thing. You can’t take someone down with just appearances.” Aja spoke to them as if to gently teach them.
>One of the women crying at that moment was Wakana Uehara, who is now a member of Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. She had been active as an idol and made a name for herself as a competitive eater, but winning first place overall in Dream Pro-Wrestling became the turning point that made her choose the path of living as a professional wrestler. “Even when I hit Aja-san with an elbow, she didn’t flinch at all... I had been working in the entertainment industry, but I realized that up until then, I hadn’t truly conveyed anything to people. That made me so frustrated I couldn’t stop crying.”
>Three years have passed since then. Uehara has gained experience and shows clear growth. On September 20, she is set to challenge for the Princess Tag Team Championship alongside Yuki Kamifuku as the tag team “Ober Eats.” She is frequently featured in the media and appears to be enjoying a smooth career.
>Yet Aja’s words still echo in her heart: “There’s nothing that resonates.”
>“Conveying something to people is really difficult. But that’s exactly what makes pro wrestling so interesting—and it’s why I want to share that excitement with even more people.”
>>
>>18845256
>Her pro-wrestling journey began with those tearful elbows. Today, Wakana Uehara continues to pursue the power to truly communicate.
>Outside of wrestling, Wakana Uehara is active in gravure modeling, variety shows, and competitive eating. When I asked her, “Would it be okay if we did this interview over a meal?” she readily agreed. When she appeared at a small multi-tenant building in Shinjuku, she carried a radiance that seemed to lift the whole atmosphere, and with a bright smile she bowed and said, “Thank you for having me.”
>Unable to hide my excitement, I blurted out rapid-fire comments: “I’ve been rooting for you since Dream Pro-Wrestling,” “Your singles match against Aja made me cry,” “I get frustrated that people focus only on your thighs.”
>Uehara, looking slightly bashful but clearly pleased, smiled and softly replied, “You’re so kind.”
>Uehara was born in 1996 in Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Her parents were both researchers who met at a research institute and eventually married—her father later became a university professor, while her mother became a full-time homemaker. Her older sister, three years her senior, works at a bank. Many of her relatives also hold steady, respectable jobs, and Uehara herself was raised under fairly strict discipline from a young age.
>She started piano lessons at two, and soon her schedule was packed with ballet, swimming, English conversation classes, and more. But this wasn’t something forced on her by her parents—she wanted to do all of it herself. Fiercely competitive by nature, she became especially passionate about swimming, where results could be measured numerically. At one point, she was going to the pool seven times a week.
>Despite this tenacious streak, she says that during her first year as a pro wrestler, there wasn’t a single day she didn’t cry in the locker room.
>>
>>18845261
>“I just hate losing—to others, and to myself. Even after a match, no matter how much my seniors praise me, if I feel like ‘I could’ve executed that move better,’ I get frustrated until I can’t stand it.”
>After passing a rigorous entrance exam, she entered the junior high division of Tokyo University of Agriculture First High School, an elite combined junior–senior high school with a deviation score of around 70. She succeeded thanks to her strengths in math and science. Once she finds something she loves, she pursues it with single-minded intensity—a trait that has been consistent since those early years.
>As an elementary school student, she was a lively girl—the type who would climb trees with the boys and come home with her skirt torn. She showed little interest in traditionally “girly” play. But when she entered junior high and was finally allowed to watch TV, she was stunned by the sight of idols singing and dancing on screen. That’s when a yearning to become a “cute girl” was born.
>She formed a Momoiro Clover Z cover group and performed dances at the school cultural festival. She became so popular that both upperclassmen and underclassmen asked her for autographs and photos. Yet behind that sparkle and popularity, she sometimes faced bullying.
>For all six years of junior and senior high school, she was a member of the cheerleading club. Because it was a club full of top-tier students in the school social hierarchy, the competition for a spot on the select team was fierce—so fierce that once, while eating her lunch, she was surrounded by teammates and showered with insults.
>Even so, she refused to give in. Her stubbornly competitive nature drove her to start attending gymnastics classes to improve her skills and make the cut. By her senior year of high school, her team placed third in the nation.
>Her longing for the entertainment world only grew stronger.
>>
>>18845266
>In her second year of high school, she applied for CanCam (Shogakukan) magazine’s New Generation Model Audition and was selected as one of 100 semi-finalists out of 21,608 applicants. The following year, she was approached by film industry professionals during a movie audition and began her entertainment career.
>Although she went on to study at a science-oriented university, she couldn’t shake her passion for show business. She wanted to move to Tokyo, but she knew that if she told her parents, they would certainly oppose it. Understanding that, she quietly began preparing behind the scenes—working as a beer vendor and doing photoshoots to save 1.8 million yen. She even found an apartment on her own. By the time she finally handed her parents the paperwork, all that was left was to get their signatures.
>Her parents, she recalls, were more exasperated than opposed when they saw the documents. They knew better than anyone that once their daughter made up her mind, nothing could move her.
>In 2018, Uehara made her major debut as a member of the idol unit Advance Arc Harmony. She was popular enough to be voted center by fans, but behind the scenes she was hit with harsh words:
>“If you lose weight, we’ll let you debut as a solo artist.”
>Clinging to those words, she began to restrict her eating and ran 10 km every day. Her weight dropped from 53 kg to 38 kg. There were days when she smiled on stage while barely able to stand. Her hardworking, fiercely competitive nature often translated into “cutting herself down” to fit into the entertainment world.
>In May 2019, she graduated from Advance Arc Harmony. That August, she made her first appearance on terrestrial TV through Nippon TV’s Ariyoshi Seminar in the “Second Gyaru Sone Audition” segment. The opportunity came from something she had casually written in the “special skills” field of her profile: “competitive eating.”
>>
>>18845268
>At the time, she thought she could “just eat a little more than most people,” but during the audition she devoured 2 kg of curry with ease. Looking back, she remembered a time when she and her mother once went to an all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant and together finished 100 servings. It was then that she truly recognized this as her unique skill.
>Just as she thought, “I’ve finally made it to the starting line,” the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Her media appearances dropped to less than half, and a long period of stagnation followed.
>It was around this time that Dream Pro-Wrestling – dream on the ring – came along, beginning in May 2022. At first, Uehara’s dream was simply “to get more work related to food.” She had never even considered becoming a professional wrestler. For her, it was just a project she joined in hopes of boosting her entertainment career.
>But the story took an unexpected turn. Leading the competition as the sole frontrunner, she entered the final evaluation held on October 14 at Shinjuku FACE. There, she faced an exhibition match against a Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling member—her opponent was none other than her idol, Shoko Nakajima. The result: second place. Though she tied for first overall, Uehara collapsed in tears.
>“Risako-san’s match (which earned first place in the final) was genuinely entertaining, so I could accept that part. But when they told me, ‘We’re giving you this score because we expect more from you,’ I just couldn’t stand it. I wanted to be judged equally and fairly.”
>But that “second place” became the decisive moment. Fired up by her competitive spirit, Uehara appeared at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s Korakuen Hall show on November 27 that same year and formally declared her intent to join the promotion. She admits that if she had taken first place in the final evaluation, she might never have continued wrestling. Laughing, she says, “In that sense, maybe it’s good that I came in second.”

>>
>>18845277
>Those tears of frustration after losing the final evaluation became the driving force that pushed Wakana Uehara into the ring. From that point on began three years of clumsy but relentless effort, steadily climbing her way upward.
>On January 4, 2023, at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s Korakuen Hall show, Uehara made her official debut. Teaming with Arisu Endo, she faced the duo of Moka Miyamoto and Juria Nagano. She fought using fundamental techniques like dropkicks, body slams, and sleeper holds—but each movement carried emotion, and the match somehow left a surprisingly rich impression.
>Thanks to her background in gymnastics and cheerleading, her movements appeared fluid and flashy. Still, her senior Shoko Nakajima once described her as “the type who takes time to make each movement her own, and whose seriousness can sometimes backfire—clumsy, in a way.”
>Uehara herself admitted to this awkwardness. She struggled to match the proper footwork for rope-running and often envied her peer Toga, who seemed to pick up new movements effortlessly.
>Then, a turning point came on February 21 that same year—Keiji Muto’s retirement match. Until she went to watch it live, she hadn’t even known who Muto was, but she was struck by the thought: “I had no idea someone this cool existed.” She went home and voraciously watched his past matches. That was when she discovered the Space Rolling Elbow.
>Mastering the move—which involves launching into a rolling elbow strike after a roundoff with a quarter turn—proved difficult. She struggled with gauging the distance to the corner and sticking the landing. But through relentless practice, she made the move her own. For a professional wrestler, having a signature technique can define one’s fate. After learning the Space Rolling Elbow, Uehara began to radiate a powerful presence—not as a “former idol,” but as a wrestler in her own right.
>>
>>18845283
>But the brighter the light, the darker the shadow it casts. In November 2023, Uehara reported on her X (formerly Twitter) account that she had received death threats. The messages included chillingly specific language such as, “I’ve sent my guys to Shinjuku and Tokyo today,” and “I’ll do it in front of her mother and family.” Uehara confessed, “I don’t know if it’s a joke or a threat, but I’m scared to even walk outside.”
>It was later discovered that the threats had been sent from overseas, leaving the police unable to take action. The perpetrator was reportedly a former fan who created multiple accounts and launched relentless attacks. However, every time a new account was found, other fans repeatedly reported it, allowing the situation to be brought under control.
>Even now, she still receives hate online. But Uehara’s way of processing it has started to change. When she once saw a comment that said, “Wakana Uehara is such a fake cutesy girl. Everyone at school says so,” instead of feeling hurt, she thought, “Wait—everyone’s talking about me!?” She has come to see having haters as proof that she’s starting to have real influence.
>Behind that mindset is the support of those around her. Every time a fan praises her on social media or encourages her after a match during a meet-and-greet, her sense of self-worth grows. That kind of environment helps keep her mentally steady.
>The year Uehara debuted—2023—has been called a “bumper year” for new talent. Six rookies made their debuts that year: HIMAWARI, Shino Suzuki, Toga, Runa Okubo, Haru Kazashiro—and Uehara herself.
>In the “Next Generation Tournament,” which began in November, the six wrestlers who debuted in 2023 battled one another. Though Uehara struggled with the gap between herself and her peers who had been wrestling fans long before debuting, she fought her way through the bracket and advanced to the finals. On December 1, she defeated HIMAWARI to claim victory.
>>
>>18845290
>Then, one year after her debut, a match was announced that Uehara would likely never forget for the rest of her life: a singles match against Aja Kong, the guest coach from Dream Pro-Wrestling.
>On January 4, 2024, at Korakuen Hall, Uehara was determined to show how far she had come since Dream Pro-Wrestling. To the public, Aja was in a completely different league, but once they were in the ring, they were simply two wrestlers facing each other. Uehara had no intention of letting it be just a “challenge match.” At the very start of the match, she took advantage of the moment Aja removed her gown in the corner and landed a Space Rolling Elbow. She then locked in a modified sleeper hold that had Aja struggling.
>The result was a loss—but Uehara came away with something far more important: a sense of accomplishment. Unlike during Dream Pro-Wrestling, she was sure she had truly “conveyed something” to the audience from inside the ring. After the match, Aja praised her, saying, “She was every bit a pro wrestler, and now I have one more rival in my heart.”
>On May 6, 2024, at Korakuen Hall, Uehara teamed with HIMAWARI to challenge Suzume and Arisu Endo for the Princess Tag Team Championship. It was not only Uehara’s first-ever title match, but also a rare rookie challenge, which drew plenty of attention. She and HIMAWARI even broke out new combination moves to show their determination, but the result was a narrow defeat. Her first chance at capturing a championship belt slipped through her fingers.
>Six months later, in January 2025, Uehara teamed up with Yuki Kamifuku for the Futari wa Princess “Max Heart” Tournament. Kamifuku was someone Uehara had long openly declared to be her “oshi”—her favorite wrestler. The spark had been TikTok videos: “Even her backstage comments were just too funny. I kept wondering how she came up with those lines,” Uehara recalls.
>Forming a team with Kamifuku dramatically changed Uehara’s style.
>>
>>18845295
>She had previously given polished, safe answers to everything she was asked—sometimes to the point of sounding bland. Kamifuku encouraged her to “say what you really feel.” Learning to open up and show her true self made wrestling far more enjoyable for her.
>On April 18, at a show in Las Vegas, Uehara and Kamifuku challenged “Kyoraku Kyomei” for the Princess Tag Team Championship. When their challenge was initially rejected because they didn’t have a team name, they hastily announced one backstage: “Ober Eats.” The name combines ober—the German word for “upper” or “above”—with the shared first kanji in “Uehara” (上) and “Kamifuku” (上), symbolizing the “two Ups” standing together.
>Though they once again fell just short of capturing the belts, they felt the crowd’s electric response and left with renewed confidence. In her entertainment career, she had rarely thought about overseas audiences—but in wrestling, the world suddenly felt within reach. Uehara now declares, “My dream is to become a global superstar.”
>On September 20, at Ota City General Gymnasium, OberEats will once again challenge Kyoraku Kyomei for the Princess Tag Team Championship. The public calls it a case of “third time’s the charm,” but Uehara insists, with conviction, “We’re going to get it done on the second try.”
>Still, Kyoraku Kyomei are exceptional—both in their wrestling IQ and in their tag-team chemistry—making them opponents that can’t simply be overpowered head-on. Yet Uehara believes, “They may have been a team longer, but when it comes to depth, we’ve got the edge.”
>“Since I started wrestling, everything has changed.” The version of herself who once held back during auditions can now even show her most pained expressions openly. In her idol days, certain photos might have been off-limits, but now, she doesn’t care how she looks. Ever since stepping into the ring, she feels her mental toughness has grown stronger.
>>
tldr
>>
>>18845299
>“Pro wrestling shows your way of life. Even your facial expressions give you away. That’s why, through my matches, I want people to see my life exactly as it is.”
>Meeting Uehara, one thing comes across powerfully: her unwavering desire to reach people. Perhaps she had that drive even during her entertainment days—but through pro wrestling, it has become rawer, more urgent, and impossible to ignore.
>The tears she sheds in the ring, the frustration she feels in defeat, even the pain of being hurt by online hate—all of it becomes “material” to make her resonate with others. The label of “former idol” is no longer necessary. She now bares herself completely as a pro wrestler, aiming to shake the hearts of those who watch her.
>September 20, at Ota City General Gymnasium. She will lay it all bare—the tears, the awkwardness, everything. And in doing so, she will surely stir something deep in someone’s heart.

>A flag will be placed in each wrestler’s corner. A wrestler who captures the opponent’s flag is allowed to use an officially sanctioned weapon.
>The officially sanctioned weapons will be two types of “toys” pre-selected by both wrestlers. Capturing the flag allows the wrestler to use one of these two toys.

I wonder if he has to be sedated before going to the vet. I had a cat that had to be heavily tranqued up before going, otherwise she would absolutely lose her shit to the point it was impossible for doctors to do anything to her. It was always a chore to get the pills down her throat. She was incredibly neurotic and high strung but I loved and miss her dearly.

It's interesting because the cat I have now is the complete opposite. He's so chill I can just sling him over my shoulder, set him down in the car without a carrier, and he'll just lay on the exam table stone faced while the vet shoves thermometers in his ass or draws blood from his neck or whatever.

>Right now, the most multi-talented female professional wrestler might just be Wakana Uehara.
>Not only does she fight in the ring for Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, but she also frequently appears on Ariyoshi Seminar to showcase her impressive competitive eating skills. Furthermore, as a gravure idol, she just released a digital photobook that has generated significant buzz across various circles. She’s not just dual-wielding—she’s triple-wielding!
>Under normal circumstances, juggling these three fields simultaneously would be considered impossible. There might be some connection between pro wrestling and competitive eating, and there are others who balance pro wrestling with gravure idol work. However, combining gravure idol activities with competitive eating seems utterly unthinkable.
>The world of gravure may seem glamorous, but behind the scenes, it’s brutally demanding. Typically, idols refrain from eating starting the night before a shoot. They avoid food to prevent bloating and ensure their body lines look as flawless as possible. Some particularly stoic idols even fast for multiple meals before entering the studio. At this point, gravure photoshoots are practically a sport, and the idols are athletes!
Knowing this, it’s nothing short of astounding that Wakana Uehara manages to excel in both competitive eating and gravure while still stepping into the pro wrestling ring every week. How on earth does she manage her condition?
>"It really is challenging. First, there’s competitive eating—that alone is tough. Ultimately, the key is how much you can expand your stomach. To do that, it’s better not to have too much muscle or fat. If you have muscle or fat, it limits how much your stomach can expand, which means you can’t eat as much."
>Who would have thought that’s how competitive eating works? When you watch eating competitions on TV, it’s common to be amazed, thinking, "How can someone so slim eat so much?!"
>>
>>18846372
>But being thin means there’s nothing obstructing the stomach, allowing it to expand and accommodate more food. Of course, being thin doesn’t automatically mean you can eat a lot, but it does mean you have higher potential for competitive eating compared to someone with a larger build.
>That said, it seems pro wrestling and competitive eating aren’t exactly a match made in heaven either...
>"Yeah, that’s true (wry smile). Because you need to build muscle. But then again, pro wrestling and gravure also require completely different approaches to body shaping..."
>The unique struggles and efforts of mastering three fields at once continue!
https://vitup.jp/20250919_uehara-wakana_part02/
>"I do work on my body before gravure photoshoots, building muscles like abs—'show muscles,' so to speak. However, 'show muscles' actually get in the way when it comes to pro wrestling. They make it harder to move. So, the ideal way to build your body is completely different for pro wrestling, gravure, and competitive eating.
>Pro wrestling matches happen every week, and that schedule isn’t something I can change, right? So when adjusting my schedule, I basically make sure to schedule competitive eating shows after my pro wrestling matches. It’s a bit tough to do pro wrestling right after a competitive eating challenge since my body isn’t in 'fighting condition.' When a gravure shoot is confirmed, I spend about two weeks getting my body ready for it.
>In my case, I don’t have a super muscular body, so while maintaining my regular training at the dojo and doing stretches for my glutes at home, I work on slimming down. But the fans notice, you know? Since I wear the same costume every week for pro wrestling, those who watch regularly can tell if I’ve gained or lost weight.

>They’ll say things like, 'You’ve lost weight, haven’t you? What’s going on?' It makes me appreciate how closely they’re paying attention~ but since I haven’t announced the digital photobook yet, I can’t exactly tell them here (laughs)."
>This is how Wakana Uehara effortlessly excels across these three different stages, but she also faces a challenging reality: "Intense training and hardcore workouts can easily lower your immunity and make you more prone to getting sick, which is tricky." It’s impressive that she, who comes from an idol background and was never a sports elite, has managed to come this far—but it turns out she has a surprising past.
>"A while back, I actually went to a kickboxing gym for about two years. I didn’t start it with the intention of doing martial arts; I approached it more as fitness. But I got more and more into it. I was going to the gym five days a week, and sometimes I’d even train twice a day, so effectively, it was seven days a week (laughs). People around me would say, 'Since you’re going this far, you should just compete,' and I was actually considering it. But right around that time, I got the opportunity to debut as an idol, so I ended up leaving the gym."
>The surprising part is that, despite having that foundation, she has never showcased kickboxing-style kicks in the pro wrestling ring. If no one had told her, she wouldn’t have even known she had a knack for kicking.
>"Now that you mention it, I haven’t used kicks, have I? Should I use them? What should I do~? Well, I guess you’ll just have to watch my future matches to find out—ahahaha!"
>She’s not just wielding three swords—she might even have a fourth? Pro wrestler Wakana Uehara still has so much room to grow! (Continued in #3, released today.)

This is funny when you have people like Misao who produces her own shows and writes music, the Up Up Girls who do everything Wakana does besides eat a lot and do way more shows, Kira who speaks two languages, is a mother and works in anime and illustration alongside wrestling, and Fumirin who is an accomplished rakugo performer and speaks three languages.
