Real men don't talk about their service. You wouldn't know because you've never even been in a verbal altercation much less a real fight.

He talks about it, just not the nam part. He is proud he served. He said hes not even mad about sgt slaughter and his gimmick. Its all in one episode i heard last week.

From my experience the ones who witnessed "regular" warfare are more likely to talk about their experience than the ones who witnessed "irregular" warfare.
Great-grandfather and his pals always went on about eating rats in the trenches, granduncle wouldn't stop talking about the fun times he had with sea mines in WW2.
Grandfather on the other hand never told anything, only once alluded to burning down farms. We assume he was part of a death squad or something like that.

same, but with former classmates who went to afghanistan. one guy will happily share stories about spending two months in a lonely outpost getting under mortar fire every second day but the only thing you'll ever get out of the other is that american delta forces are all psychopaths

Why is he giving me those zesty eyes though
