when this happened did anyone predict that Vaquer would be the one to go on to global stardom, universal critical praise and a skyrocketing career while Sasha Banks squandered her career in an obscure, niche, smark toy fed that nobody watches? the world is crazy sometimes bros
>>
Yeah I did
>>
>>18877535
congratulations fagstradamus
>>
>>18877531
Yeah, everyone with a functioning brain
>>
>>18877531
yes
>>
Vaquer was earmarked for the top years before this match even happened
>>
>>18877531
in hindsight, it was retarded to have Mercedes go over in this match too. these days nobody would believe that she could beat Vaquer. Tony fumbled hard.
>>
did forbidden door happen this year yet? any nooj kino come out of it?
>>
>>18877637
yeah but Tony is so traumatized by Vaquer choosing the big leagues that all of the matches were aew vs aew or aew vs roh LMAO
>>
>>18877600
nobody could believe it then either, Mone was beyond blown up at the end of the match lol
>>
>>18877531
Honestly yes, pretty much anyone that watched it lol
I don't watch AEW but when I saw just a pic of that woman in gear I had to check it out
plus the fact that the crowd was dead silent for Mone and instantly siding with her, I thought it would be fun to watch for the memes cause Mone is awful, turned out she was but Vaquer was fucking spectacular, which is why the crowd took for her so hard
instantly made me watch whatever other matches from her I could find
I have no fucking idea how the fuck she wasn't spotted earlier, she got me in about 30 seconds and a blind man could see that she's miles above pretty much any other woman in the ring
>>
>>18877531
>One stay in aew
>The other moved up to WWE
Not a big mystery, bro
>>
>>18877531
She out-wrestled Sashit and came out of it looking like a million bucks, I still remember how assblasted some people were because she signed with WWE after that match
>>
>>18877680
>She out-wrestled Sashit and came out of it looking like a million bucks,
thats been sasha's reign this whole time retard
>>
>>18877531
This match is shoot the only time (besides Iyo Shirai) that I actually put my phone away and got invested in a womemes match. Stephanie Vaquer has the look, the skills, the total package. I love her and will always watch her matches with complete focus. Did I predict that she would be a big star? Nope. Because I thought she'd be in gAyEW to disappear in ROH and Collision bullshit.
>>
if it wasnt for sasha wwe wouldnt care about stephanie
>>
>>18877702
kek, what a faggot you are
>>
>>18877531
Yeah. Tiny dropped the ball completely on his main female "stars" Sashit should never have been hired and Toni Hogan was always carried by Mariah. Vaquer absolutely has it and WWE did the right thing putting a belt on her.
>>
>>18877718
>Sashit should never have been hired
she would have been in stardom either way
>>
>>18877700
not on that level lol the finish of this one is particularly egregious Vaquer is like "all right I've got all my shit in and I've let her get all her shit in, and she looks like she's about to die, guess it's time to take the pin unfortunately"
>>
>>18877531
I didn't see a star when she wrestled Mercedes. I saw woman that I'd heard/read about and seen few matches in Japan and thought this was a chick that had been trained well and knew what to do. She was the first match that Mercedes had that resembled what was expected out of her when they signed in the first place and I chalked it up to good worker + good worker= good match. Nothing more, nothing less.

When she ended up signing with WWE, went down to NXT and started having good television quality matches with a lot of girls that I considered mid at best to outright green in some cases, that's when it hit me she's really special. It reminded me a lot of what happened when Asuka came in. Right away you just knew they were different in how they looked and how they brought the best out of people and the fans bought it immediately.
>>
CMLL made her a star, the only ones that saw something on her
>>
what i can't believe is she was wrestling for like a decade and nobody was posting her ass here at all. like she's top 5 hottest women in wrestling ever and she was in cmll forever and yet nobody was gooning to her here until she went to wwe
>>
>>18877600
even if she went over she still would have left to WWE making Tony and even bigger KWAB
>>
>>18877774
lol
They saw money cause she was drawing the house
They took 4 years to actually start pushing her, when she was literally saving their women roster from oblivion and actually getting people into the arenas
of course some mexican fans and insiders will never ever admit that she was a big draw and helped a lot in CMLL getting hot again, cause she "betrayed" them and was Chilean in the first place
tbqh CMLL didn't want to see something in her until they couldn't hide the fact that she was their biggest star, a girl, not trained by them, better than all the ones they did train and not even mexican
>>
>>18877531
The promotions are the stars, that's why nobody cared until she was in the WWE.
>>
>>18877845
they pushed her when she was ready, they have to teach her wrestling from zero.
Before hiring her, she had disastrous runs in the indies and Stardom
>>
>>18877876
Nah that's bullshit actually, there are no "runs" on the Mexican indies, she was working with whatever promotion would book her, same with Japan
Sure she got much better between 2019 and 2023 but I'm sorry bro, she was already much better than all the cmll women division
what I've seen of her early Japan run is at worst forgettable but far from disastrous because she's already also looking better than anybody they put her in the ring with
You can watch one of her early cmll matches and she's already moving fast as fuck in the ring, has an impressive although rougher moveset, but she's already the only bright thing in any ring she's in and there's literally no reason to look at anybody else
I think when you look at every single other woman that worked with her in CMLL, what they can do, and mostly what they don't or can't do, it's fucking clear as day that Vaquer didn't git gud here, but by training with several outside trainers, working Japan and figuring shit out on her own
She spent a solid 5 -7 years working and training before even joining CMLL and out of all the girls she worked with, she's the only one who made it to anything close to this level
Imma be dead ass with you, if Vaquer wasn't pushed as early as 2020, the real answer is that cmll is rife with nepotism and they're gonna make outsiders eat shit until they quit
Only she didn't quit and became the star of their show
>>
>>18877916
you are right, CMLL has nothing to do with her success.
Doesn't matter that AAA, Stardom and WWE refused to hire her time and time again.

Without NXT she is NOTHING
>>
>>18877967
Try to read what I'm sayin nigga, I didn't say CMLL had nothing to do with her success, but that they sat on it and what separates her from the rest of the CMLL women division is obviously shit she learnt elsewhere
For instance, one of the big things that get the crowds with her is how she sells, and CMLL definitely isn't the number one school of selling
Now as far as perfecting her technical abilities, fuck yeah, fucking A
But the narrative elements and match pacing that get over with American crowds, apparently no
Stardom, AEW and CMLL quite obviously all made really dumb decisions in handling her, that's why she's now becoming one of the top stars of the top company
She couldn't get work internationally at first because she was a small Chilean luchadora on the indies, "literally who" by all standards. CMLL finally noticed that this girl was excellent value for what they probably paid her. But then by stalling her out, they did block her career opportunities.
WWE refused her once in their grimmest years, and of all people they took Catalina at the same tryout.
Try to tell me with a straight face that every single major promotion that had her on their radar or their roster didn't fuck up big time until last year
>>
>>18877987
but she didn't learn elsewhere, by her own admission
>>
>>18877531
Actually calling the show "Forbidden Door" is so retarded.
>>
>>18877876
she only had like 5 or 6 shows when she was in stardom way back 2018. most of them were triple tag and single match against saki kashima which i cant find for some reason
>>
>>18878027
By her own admission she did tho
Like literally, it's indisputable, I don't know what you're on about
She's talked about how training in japan changed her style, how she trained martial arts as well, and she factually started wrestling at 16, so long before she ever got to cmll
She also already had several of her signature moves including the most iconic and the general idea of her character and aesthetic when she started in cmll
>>
>>18877748
>mid at best
You just described Sasha
>>
>>18878118
nah described Alexa
>>
>>18877597
Were you watching her back then or did you get caught up in the hype machine surrounding her?
>>
>>18878161
>hype machine
Getting desperate huh?
>>
>>18878161
I was watching her in 2022
>>
>>18877531
>obscure, niche, smark toy fed that nobody watches
lil bro, only 1.3M people watch SmackDown and 2.6M people watch Raw, ON NETFLIX, ACROSS THE WORLD lmao
>>
>>18878083
You are falling to kayfabe stories.
But I don't want to go back and fort eternally.
>>
>>18878463
wtf lol
So she spent like two years combined wrestling in Japan and never attended a training session there?
She had literal hundreds of matches before cmll but she knew nothing about anything before showing up here?
You know that this shit is on video right
>>
>>18877786
this tbqh I mean there's that one gooneranon who is always posting the fat Mexican girl who isn't even a fraction as hot as Vaquer is. WTF bros I could have been cooming to that ass a long time ago. you faggots robbed me and you don't ever get that time back
>>
>>18878740
yeah and he doesn't even have good pics of that fat Mexican either
>>
>>18877531
sasha was always carried by wwe presentation and her ex-husbands gear
>>
>>18879006
>sasha was always carried by wwe presentation
Roman too you Gaylord
>>
>>18879021
>Roman Reigns out of nowhere
holy obsessed
>>
>>18877531
I thought Vaquer would've taken the TK lump sum toy deal, but she's going for the long run in wwe, she's hot so she had to know she'd get to the top quickly, Giulia is not so lucky, but she still chokes on english
>>
>>18879026
>holy obsessed
You are like that with Sasha
>>
>>18877531
Sasha was never good so it's pretty easy to guess
>>
>>18879021
Hey sashit. How's your Monday at the call center going?
>>
>>18879053
>Giulia

is also handicapping herself with the "heel" braids
>>
>>18877531
Stephanie would be a bigger star in AEW likely beat Toni at All Out
>>
>>18879053
she wants to be the best rather than be rich, so it's no surprise she didn't want to get to the toy leagues during her prime years
She knew she could get to the top because she's good, there are a million hot girls in the business
>>
>>18879364
nigga nobody in aew is a bigger star than anyone on raw or smackdown
>>
>>18879412
B-Fab is a bigger star than hangtranny
>>
>>18877531
I did not know who Vaquer was and still don’t.
Mone is the single greatest and impactful women’s wrestler of the entire American supercontinent. I honestly don’t care if it makes /pw/ mad, it’s true.
History WILL turn the Horse into a GOAT I give it 1 or 2 decades.
>>
>>18879465
sad but true
>>
>>18879482
legit question, how is Mone good?
it's not a setup for a snarky retort, I just don't get it
>>
>>18879510
she isn't and the fact that she's been an antidraw in aew proves it
>>
>>18877531
You're fat and retarded.
