Cornette's strength is logic in wrestling. But his weakness is he's too stuck in the past and too stubborn to be modern. His most successful periods in creative were funnily enough working with someone like Russo who would push the envelope but Corny would pull on the reins and balance it out. People shit on Cornette and say he sucks because of SMW going down and his ROH run not working, but he has value just in a particular more supporting way.

Here's the hidden truth that Jim's haters don't want you to know.Classic, southern wrestling, has never failed on the national level. By the time WCW was airing nationally the Turner execs had already sunk their teeth in. We really just don't know if wrestling that makes sense, is ran like sporting event where things can go wrong, and the talent do everything they can to connect to the audience will fail, because it has never been attempted. All things indicate that it would be a huge success because it emphasize everything that's actually important about wrestling.
