[Alarming News] Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics said that only 38,000 people are watching AEW Dynamite on HBO Max.
>>
>>18905149
Sounds about right.
>>
That's a lot of people

John looks mad while Brandon looks zesty
>>
>>18905161
That's 24,000 too many, but he should give them the benefit of the doubt. The highest viewership MAX ever saw was a HUGE basketball game and that only drew 41,000 viewers.
>>
>>18905163
Me on the right
>>
>>18905149
Extremely low level mathematics on display here.
>>
>>18905149
We need a high-level mathematician like Dave Meltzer to make this right.
>>
>>18905149
Seems high lol
>>
So basically even if you include Max the wrestling school is still raping AEW worse than Roverts dad rapes him?
>>
>>18905149
We're gonna need a Ph.D in mathematics to solve this one

This is WAY closer to what AEW is likely doing on Max than Dave's retarded 300k number that he fucking gets sourced from a literal tranny.

And I'm not saying that because I hate AEW, I'm saying that because no one watches anything on the Max live stream.
>>
>>18905157
>>18905157
It really does. 500k was so retarded. Why use such an outrageous number? Even 100k would have been somewhat believable.
>>
>>18905307
Because may pro-AEW people, including Tonikan himself, are personally angered by the no milly meme
>>
>>18905149
Those are only his estimation for people that migrated from TBS to HBO Max.

If you add new viewers that discovered AEW Dynamite throgh HBO MAX then you need to add 400k+ viewers.

Dave's number now is 300-350k.
Which is still fucking retarded. That would mean AEW is capturing about 55% of their cable audience on streaming.

And for context of how retarded that is, the Super Bowl did like 122M last year on TV.
The Super Bowl also stream live, FOR FREE, on Tubi. Tubi ROUTINELY has a higher usage share monthly than HBO Max

So the SUPER BOWL, which aired on a FREE streaming service, that has a higher usage share than HBO Max did 15M on Tubi. That equals 12% of the the TV audience. To further point how stupid Dave's number is, that 15M represents 1/3rd of all streaming viewer for the Super Bowl this year. That means the total streaming numbers only captures 36% of the TV rating.

Dave is legitimately a nigger brained retard for not putting even an ounce of thought to this before claiming it. Dave's method for coming up with these numbers literally relies on polls of HIS OWN SUBSCRIBERS which means Dave doesn't even know how to do a poll and doesn't know what a sampling bias is. Evidently, neither the the "mathematician" tranny that he relies on
>>
It makes sense. Just think about twitch streams. Even the biggest streamers, people that are way more popular than AEW as a whole will ever be, hardly ever crack 100k live viewers, and that's on a free platform. Around 30k streaming live sounds right.
>>
>>18905149
That means there are millions watching illegal streams of AEW Dynamite
>>
>>18905379
Before I read that I'm going to have to ask what your mathematics level is
>>
>>18905764
I have a Master's in Econ and I'm currently studying for my CPA.
Also, it's not 55%, it's 45%.

>>

So this is all about live? I guess sub-50k definitely sounds right for that. I watch every episode of Dynamite and most Collisions but pretty much never live. Usually a day or two later. I like skipping through commercials.

Live viewers don't seem like a very important metric to me. Who cares what day people watch as long as they're watching every week?
>>
>>18905821
>So this is all about live?
OP's graph says it's live + same day
>>
>>18905379
He shoot thinks BJ Bethel double sourced the 500k despite the fact that Dave himself says over and over how only the very top execs have access to that number.
>>
>>18905844
Like, it's would be entirely possible if someone who worked at The Hollywood Report or Deadline reporting this info, but BJ Behtel is literally a random dude from Cincinnati. His biggest claim to fame is running a local news station's Facebook page and getting some articles in the Australian Herald like 15 years ago.
He has literally no connection to Hollywood but Dave cites this guy as reliable.

Kek that's higher than I thought. Anyway, to the surprise of absolutely no one this graphic was 100% correct. BJ Bethal made up 500k out of thin air and of course Meltzer ran with the lie.
>>
>>18905830
Ah ok thanks, I don't give a shit about ratings so I didn't know what L+SD meant.

Thinking about it more I guess it's a useful metric for proving that AEW absolutely does not ever put on gripping must-see TV, I usually go in having no idea what will be on Dynamite. And I don't mean bc they don't advertise their card ahead of time like Dave & Alvarez are always whining about, I don't look at AEW Twitter. I mean as far as what I saw happen on Dynamite the week before, I have no idea how it will carry over to the next week. Hell it feels like most people you never even see week to week, more like a few times every couple months. Stories start and stop and pick back up.

Like how did Dynamite end this week, Darby chasing the Death Riders with a flamethrower 4 days after Mox was set on fire to no apparent injury or effect. Shit just happens. Yeah I like the show but there's literally zero reason to be excited to watch it on Wednesday or Thursday. More like whenever I have some free time I'll throw it on not knowing what to expect.
>>
>>18905775
no, just 14 to 21
>>
>>18906026
>AEW absolutely does not ever put on gripping must-see TV
Nail on the head. Match outcomes don't matter in AEW. Why do the Death Riders still exist? They should've disbanded after Mox lost the title, or at least gotten a new leader, but instead they're running around like nothing happened. Hell, Darby could run over Mox with a streamroller and Mox would be fine the next day like. It's impossible to get invested or get excited for what happens next when you know everything that happens is meaningless and will have no lasting consequences.
>>
>>18905149
Thurston didn't get his check from Tony this week
>>
>>18906235
Yes that's exactly how I feel about it. Like they want every segment of every show to be some wild and crazy thing, so it all blends together at a way too fast pace, nothing is allowed to breathe or sink in or be treated as extra important or violent or dastardly or compelling. Always immediately off to the next over the top thing, way too many different people crammed onto every show & you only see most for a few seconds & you never hear most of them talk or see them wrestle. They literally just stand around in the background, extra meat in the room for no reason.

Then when they do try to make something bigger than usual it's cartoonishly cringe, then no sold & forgotten within days.
>>
>>18905149
Seems on the high side. But compared to Dave's math, it's at least closer to reality.

Chadblade97 simply does not miss. His ppv buys reports are always backed by actual numbers and data while meltzer just says 200k trust me bro

I guess Thurston finally received a TKO Gift Basket.

Shame. He used to have integrity.

Dave should be embarrassed if he is legitimately predicting that number.
>>
>>18905379
you can watch the Super Bowl on over the air TV you absolute fucking brainlet
>>
>>18905773
sounds like you're a mere medium level mathematician, actually. study the experts on the WON board and get back to me
>>
>>18905276
It was such an absurd comment by him, an idea that a third of your audience just randomly show up watching it on streaming yet no other metric (attendance) has gone up at all was laughable,
>>
>>18908953
But live attendance has gone up. Many of the empty arena pictures are just AI edits made by Eshills. If you study the wrestling observer board, there are a few high level AI researchers who have proven that.
>>

Uh I'm pretty sure we sold out a couple of arenas lately. Like the famous ECW arena. Cope more Efag.
