GoK, Wato, ELP, EVIL, Tiger Mask, EVIL again... were all worthless. The matches with Honma, Makabe, Kojima, Taguchi and Yano have history but were little more than displays of old men performing their old routines. Matches against young lions like Kato, Murashima, Yasuda and Nagai were nice but didn't really do anything to elevate the kids.

There's 15~ singles matches from 2025 that just took up space. Pointless and boring.

Taichi, ZSJ, and Nagata were fine.
Goto was good, as were a few G1 matches.

His best contribution to NJPW waa probably the matches against Uemura, and Tsuji because they're the future of the company. That's what Tanahashi's role should be in 2025; a focused feud with a rising star. A passing of the torch, not random meaningless matches with Master Wato and GoK.

Ironically, the match against Dino in DDT is probably the most fun match of the year... and that's what we should be seeing more of in addition to his NJPW work. A sort of grand tour of Japan, DDT, NOAH, AJPW, DragonGate, Freedoms, BJW, etc. The Ace of his generation being recognized by the industry and all that. Singles, tags, it doesn't matter. Easy nights work for Tanahashi, and it would likely add to the gate for these feds. Nobody loses.
