Highly recommended, I liked it more than the Nomura match despite liking that matchup on paper a lot more. One of my favorite if not my favorite Honda singles match performance.

Great match with lots of stiff offense. There's a spot in particular that stood out to me where Okabayashi does a spinning strike, Ishikawa hits the ropes, Okabayashi grabs his arm and rotates him, Ishikawa headbutts in response, Okabayashi collapses, and there's a perfectly framed composition of a middle-aged woman in the front row smiling and clapping in delight.

2025 has a weird year for GLEAT, it's definitely not the best it's ever been. Tamura, who was arguably their biggest "home grown" star, has been gone for over half a year for unstated reasons, Onitsuka is on a full-year timeout and Nakajima has been suffocating both title scenes since he debuted. I think his match vs. Junjie (GLEAT Ver. 20) is the best title match in the reign so far.
My recommendation from 2025 is the G-RUSH show from 24.01.2025, it's a one-night tournament for the G-RUSH belt, held under 7-minute, two-count falls, two rope break limit matches. It's novel and leads to fun matches.

And because of Wada's refusal to count shoot pins, this is the improvized finish we get. I don't think it's bad at all, really, it's very similar to many planned AJPW finishes. The worst part about it is that the elbow combo would've been a perfectly fine finish on its own. It's far from the disaster some people like to pretend it is.
