he was initially hyped after coming in off cody's open challenge, but his neck is made of paper, he kept getting injured, and he really thought he was much better and bigger than he is.

how to make starks work? put him with a big man. his best work in aew was teaming with hobbs and later with big bill. he's the charisma, the other guy is the believable muscle. alone he is just too small to intimidate anyone and he isn't flashy enough in the ring to compensate. and this of course drives him insane because he wants the spotlight to himself.
