the cena reign was basically non-canon other than getting his title count up so cody has essentially had the belt since he took it off roman in a singular though interrupted reign; he has gone over every top heel on the roster in this time

i think trying a heel cena on the way out the door was worth a shot but dwaynetty completely tanked it intentionally and it ended up worse than it could have been, but if they never went that route, it is likely WHC cena (with a longer title reign) would have happened
