New Stevie humiliation story drops

>About to have a match with AJ
>Subtly starts begging producer in TNA to book him into a storyline with AJ Styles and pitching his ideas for a storyline
>Producer turns to him and tells him that he should feel lucky and thankful that they're even allowing him in the ring with a guy like AJ Styles
>Stevie says he walked away after that and said nothing else
>>
>>19048492
Kek these guy got emasculated his whole Careeer
>>
>>19048492
he did some stuff with Abyss as 'Dr Stevie' IIRC
Either way, career lowcarder Stevie Richards and his conniving britbong handler have serious go away heat with me

At least he’s actually making money now on his YouTube channel for all the stories of humiliation. Raven literally made him his bottom bitch in real life .

Made Stevie drive him around everywhere. Told Stevie to buy him “birthday gifts” every week including TVs. Told Stevie he should pay him part of his contract because he got Stevie hired at WCW. Threatened many times to get Stevie fired at WCW by stooging him off to DDP . The guy made Stevie’s life a living hell and Stevie thinks to this day that he owes Raven money. He’s fucked in the head .
>>
>>19048492
Ricky Steamboat telling him to stop doing a move because he's a jobber still takes the take

his show is now a combination of gossip rag, hating on the current product, humilation stories, and ranking people/things he barely had any association with

So that explains parkinsons
Heavenly punishment for the kike for being a giga kike

Someone should compile a list. So far I got:
- Bought "birthday gifts" including TV to Raven
- Gave Raven part of his money because it was thanks to Raven he got into WCW
- Raven stooged him to DDP
- Sat alone at WWE catering
- Wanted to have a program with AJ styles, booker tells him he should be thankful for being in the ring with AJ Styles
- Stevie and AJ hang around at bar post show, Ric Flair shouts from the bar to AJ to "stop being with that jobber and join us"
- Played video games backstage, Undertaker saw that and prohibited him from doing that
- Got involved into helping develop the Smackdown!-games with mo-cap and stuff, didn't get any royalties to this day
- Keeps saying he doesn't want to get into WWE HOF probably as a coping mechanism that he'll never get in there
- James (podcast co-host), bossed him around the first few episodes, interrupted him constantly saying "save that for future episodes" and Stevie just took it, things have levelled out since then somewhat
>>
>>19049230
- Self cucked himself in his match with Macho Man, allowing himself zero offense, making it it a total squash. Macho puts foot on his chest for the pin. "Just happy to be there"
>>
>>19049230
He told this story that he was in ECW and in a locker room filled with empty chairs, and Dean Malenko walked up to him, punted him off his chair and to the floor and called him a retard for not offering his chair to him. And Stevie shares this story like it's his fault for not respecting locker room etiquette
>>
>>19049235
>>19049241
Kek didn't know about these
>>
>>19049235
On a night where all the jobbers won, he wanted to be the only one who failed so he'd stand out more. So he says.
>>
>>19049230
The Shawn Michaels story. Late in his WWE career he got Shawn to watch his matches and shit. One of his friends is a part of a Christian Rock band so Stevie tries to gift one of their CD's to Shawn.

Shawn tells him "Do you think this makes you a good Christian?" to him and hands the CD back.

>>
>Arn Anderson is going over Chris Masters debut with Stevie backstage
>Arn: Really lay it in, don’t hold back. It’s just Stevie.
>Stevie just stands there and says nothing
>>
He also talks about how he sucked at taking face bumps (ddts, etc), takes blame for botching last ride with taker, bothing the GTS with punk, not being good with having his legs over his head (flips), etc

I do feel bad shitting on the guy though. his cohost is really the bitch here
>>
>>19049230
add buried by several ring rats
>>
>>19049335
this is the biggest one, Stevie got choked up when he told it
>>
>>19049650
>in the mid 90s all the ECW boys stayed at the scummy Travelodge in Philly after the shows. There were a lot of rats, but there was this one Asian slut who was such a whore that even the boys were embarrassed for her, and some actually thought she was a pest. One night Stevie Richards and some of the boys took her up to a room and violated her in the ass with a coke bottle, then threw her out of the room naked.
>>
>>19049230
- In his WCW days he pitched an angle with Goldberg where he becomes like an anti Goldberg dressing and looking like him and even shaving his hair and he would have a losing streak. He would show up during actual Goldberg matches and act like a fan but instead would angrily distract Goldberg. He finally has a mega squash match where Goldberg just manhandles him for 10 minutes and beats the angle out of him. This was when Goldberg first came and had mega heat and Stevie was shortly let go. He to this day still thinks that angle he proposed was leaked to the WWE and used for Gilberg

>>
>>19048492
>Hey, wouldn't it be cool if you booked me in a storyline with one of your biggest stars?

What did this jobber think they were going to say?
>>
>>19049230
Stevie shared this story that I couldn't even believe that anyone would willingly share something like that

He's in Nu-ECW and he debuts a new move, some submission shit. After the match, Ricky Steamboat walks up to him and starts telling him about that move, how great it looks because it looks so real and he can already imagine so many spots to get into it, and they're talking about it. Ricky then tells him to stop doing it.

Stevie is like why, were you planning on having another guy do it already? And Ricky tells him, that's a movie for a star, and he needs to stop doing it because it's too good for a jobber.

Stevie then goes, "You won't let me do the superkick, you won't let me do the submission, what can I do then?"

Ricky shrugs his shoulders at him and walks off
>>
>>19048492
With every single story I understand why he's so disliked by the boys and the bookers. He's a whinging knob. He's like if Bret was untalented in the ring.

>Vince shows the entire locker room a match between Stevie and Bob Holly. Highly praises it and tells everyone this is the kind of work he wants to see
>Stevie: How do I get pushed if you like my work so much?
>Vince essentially tells him to stop letting everyone walk all over him
>Stevie: Umm, I don’t know if I can do that, sir.
>Stevie isn’t booked on anything for six months following this meeting
>>
Stevie and his humiliation gimmick is dimes
>>
>>19049885
Is that match anywhere online?
>>
>>19049890
It's probably one of their matches on Velocity from 2005 (they had two back to back). Because only time those two faced in singles was in June of 2000 (less than a month before the debut on RTC so doesn't match the story). However after the two 2005 Velocity matches he had 4 matches after that and then wasn't booked for 6 months. So it was probably one of those two.

Vince was truly one based man

The wrestling business makes more sense once you realise that the weakest sissy bottom-bitch bastards who constantly act tough but are really pathetic and suck at the business, are the people running it and making production decisions.
>>
Stevie is 100% the dude you feel bad for until you start hanging with him, and see that he truly brings it upon himself
>>
>>19050291
You won't get anywhere if everyone else sees you as someone unwilling to "play the game" like they have all been doing for decades with all their crazy and dumb bullshit. It's almost like, to them, you don't take this seriously at all despite the fact that you are focused and always willing to do whatever you are asked to do.

By not being a prick and not trying to politick, he made himself into some asshole that wasn't willing to put any effort into the career they sacrificed their body for.

And Stevie stands on the apron, faces the hard cam, and yells "Wrestlemania moment!!" Goldust bumps him out and then he said Vince yelled at him nonstop. During his time in the business, yes. It was much, much more cutthroat and ruthless back then. There was also a lot more rituals and hazing going on backstage. You had to be an asshole and step on toes to get anywhere but Stevie is too nice and/or too much of a bitch to be that guy. He would have done better in this era, where the talent are nicer and have more more guarantees of paydays so don't need to be dicks all the time.

I think the main problem is that Stevie didn't even react much or seem to care about direct insults, which to those in the business felt like he was acting like he was above all this shit so much that he couldn't even be bothered to play along.
>>
I'd say being valet for victoria was an attempted humiliation but he got that over pretty good

I legitimately thinks he has some form of autism that doesn't allow him to feel any shame, both because of these stories and how candidly he shares them
>>

But brother
He was above that shit.
Is above that shit.
That's why he won't stoop down to their preschool politics, and that in turn is what made them hate him and keep him down the card.

A good Christian wouldn't do what HBK did to him. Stevie is inoffensive enough. He is a little puppy. Why bust his balls like that? Instead if I was HBK I would have taken under my wing and tell him to stop being a mark. Tell him that the reason people in the business give him a hard time is because you act like a mark. That he needs to stand up for himself more and that if he want it he would need to work for it.

I guarantee multiple people tried to have that conversation with him but he probably took offense and cried in the shower

>>19051036
Sadly that seems to be the case. I think even Vince of all people had the conversation. Because Stevie is a great worker but because of his attitude he was nothing more than a jobber which is a shame. Had he been more assertive and taken more risks he would probably been higher on the card.

The tl;dr was
>Stevie and Bob Holly have random match on Heat
>Vince wheels TV into dressing room and shows the entire cast of Smackdown the tape, gushing over how it is exactly the sort of in ring product he wants, these guys get it etc
>Stevie then gets the sheets for the day and finds out that he is jobbing to Ken Kennedy in 90 seconds (including Ken's entrance)
>Goes to Vince, Vince is all hugs and "love what you've been doing on Velocity, you're amazing pal, really great"
>Stevie asks "if you think I'm so great, why have you got me jobbing in 90 seconds? I'm fine losing, but can you give me a few minutes to make Ken look even better? I can only do so much with 90 seconds."
>Vince starts saying something about "he'll have to check with people", Stevie hits back with "who do you have to check with Vince, aren't you the boss?"
>Vince says "yeah, you've got a point." Awkward pause. (doormat) Stevie "look, I feel like there is more I can give you guys, I just want to know what you want me to do."
>Vince "You have to be a bit more of an arsehole" Stevie "I'm not sure I can do that."
>Vince "I'll see what I can do."
>Stevie then works no matches (INCLUDING house shows) for four months or something
Unironic case of a dude being too nice for his own good, the anon above saying he was the Butters of the era is pretty on the money.
>>
I'm surprised he didn't get sexually assaulted or ribbed as they call it.
>>
>>19051228
Sorry, amendment (should be clear from later) but it was on Velocity, not Heat. That said, Stevie's most based period in his entire history was taking over heat for a few months for no other reason than to see if anyone in corporate was paying any attention to Heat. They weren't and the second they actually saw what was happening they said they loved it, did a full endorsement and gave him special acknowledgement on the mic and everything FOR ONE WEEK then rugpulled him and Stevie, like Butters, just went "well gee willickers well it was fun while it lasted I guess" and went back to anonymity.
>>
>>19051249
>rugpulled him and Stevie, like Butters, just went "well gee willickers well it was fun while it lasted I guess" and went back to anonymity.
wasnt it specifically stephanie who rug pulled him? rough spot to be in
>>
>>19049230
why are white people like this??
>>
>>19051284
Yeah, it was Stephanie. Worst kind of rugpull too desu, he had a whole career of "that thing you did that got a pop, don't fucking do that anymore" but in this case they bigged him up, said it was great, put in full effort for an episode and then said "we're never doing it again." Sad thing is that it was legitimately one of the few memorable angles on Heat for me in the 2000s, it was pretty much that, Viscera's squash match run leading up to Big Daddy V, and Hacksaw going around the country one last time were the only standout angles.
>>
>>19049798
It's even funnier that the same thing happened with Kane

Does anyone in the business have anything but apathy or dislike for Stevie? The only time I recall someone marking for him was Tony Khan, and he probably doesn't have that opinion anymore.

Stevie is the everyday nice guy. He is the epitome of “shut up, listen and don’t talk” that was classic backstage pro wrestling . As you can see it led to generation after generation of grooming, bullying and psychological damage . This was the “price” you paid for learning the craft and becoming paid in the business . They don’t call it the “business” for nothing.

The politics that run backstage is only just a tip of the ice berg of that trauma that some of the workers went though. Taking a bump or a chair shot was easy compared to the hazing and PTSD you got backstage . It’s all starting to come out slowly but surely.

In some ways I think this is why wrestling lost some of its edge in the personalities we’re used to. Most of them nowadays are just normal people and not fucking lunatics like Scott Steiner, Macho man and Raven.
>>
>>19051486
I think the general dislike of the guy makes it really funny that he talks like he's an authority of pro wrestling on his podcast. He's a career never-ran

Agreed this is the very essence or soul of pro wrestling that is now gone. That balancing between being a lolcow or based is what was entertaining for decades

I remember when he showed up in WCW as Raven's lacky, tried pitching ideas, and Raven quickly and not so subtly reminded him that he was there for the sole purpose of being Raven's bitch.

I think the biggest push he ever received in his life was that moralfag gimmick he had in WWF. The rest of his career has just been one big humiliation ritual.

This is the part that a lot of people are missing in this thread
Steve being a relatively normal, somewhat passive guy might have hindered him from having more success in wrestling (never mind the fact that there are plenty of examples of wrestlers who weren't so-called pushovers backstage yet had even less successful wrestling careers than Stevie)
But at the same time, maybe that's the reason why unlike a lot of wrestlers from his time he's still alive, in reasonably good health, not dead broke, has no major health/addiction issues, and has no big scandal attached to his name
Maybe that's the reason why the 'worst' thing about him is being seen as a pushover jobber, and not being seen as a canceled racist, or a sex deviant that literally shits on women and obsesses over other men's dicks, or a literal cuck, or a woman-beater, or a druggie, or a murderer, or any of the other things that some 'more successful' wrestlers are now seen as

From what I can gather Russo, Val Venis, Victoria, Ivory, D'Von, Dupree, and a couple of others were pretty tight with him as far as WWE goes, and in TNA it was a couple of the knockouts, Russo again and Abyss.
>>
>>19052163
BWO and Stevie Night Heat were two of the only strong dime-drawing jobber gimmicks (hell I'd say Stevie Night Heat was the only dime drawing gimmick that Heat ever saw post-Smackdown) and he and Ivory carried RTC.

>>
>>19056466
I know this is >blog posting, but along with Bob Holly, Juice Robinson (this was back when he was in New Japan I'm not sure what he is like these days in AEW so don't consolewar this) and Tommy Dreamer I found Paul London to be one of the most "regular weird guy" people I've ever interacted with in the business. He isn't as cooked as Val Venis or Renee Dupree or Orlando Jordan but he isn't too far off, but basically fits the "slightly drug addled high school mate who is oddly obsessed with whether Fort Knox is a psyop this month but is great to hang out with." The industry doesn't like to push guys like that, but they can generally get long midcard/enhancement careers.

>>
>>19056280
>when I got hot he said he had to leave. He thought I wanted sex to get even with someone else.
This is proof that it's real because it,'s such a Stevie thing. Bully victims gets this kind of paranoid trust issues, always thinking there might be a hidden agenda behind stuff, especially seemingly benevolent stuff. This is because they've countless times been snared along by someone who's at first friendly but then it turns out it was all a bully kind of setup. Kind of like in Carrie.
>>
>>19056523
>The industry doesn't like to push guys like that, but they can generally get long midcard/enhancement careers.
This applies to society as a whole from high school up to later adulthood. There are these weird atypical types that are harmless and do their job right but still kind of gets shunned by everyone around them because they can't melt in with the crowd. I'd say the only "weirdo" who massively succeeded in wrestling was Ultimate Warrior and even he was shunned backstage and mostly kept to himself. Stevie had no chance from day 1

>>
>>19050291
that's the problem. it's a worker's business. you're not supposed to be painfully honest. look at most of the guys in the main event mix in WWE right now, cody rhodes, cm punk, seth rollins, roman reigns, fucking bronson reed who was one of the biggest lolcows on here for a couple years, all of these guys have suffered incredible public humiliation and failure throughout their careers but instead of wallowing in it they just kept pretending that it didn't matter and that they were the best and eventually they started being treated that way. wrestling is inherently dishonest. it's a business that originated as a carnival scam.
>>
>>19050562
>that wasn't willing to put any effort
>into the career they sacrificed their body for
reading these two phrases back-to-back is crazy when you think about it

>>
>>19048617

LMAO. Said it before: Stevie was one of the first modern era guys in wrestling. He should not have been a wrestler at all.
>>
Honestly Stevie would have had a much better career if he just finished matches with the Sunset Flip, the advice was there every week and he wouldn't have any of it. Can't work with a man like that.
>>
>>19049230
James has gotten way too cocky these days. Needs to get humbled.
>>
>>19056437
>gets a rep online for getting bullied for a shoot

>>
>>19049335
In all fairness to Stevie this is just another story of Shawn being superficial Christian. Like what the fuck Shawn, do you think getting a cross tattoo and then working an entire angle where Vince constantly blasphemes and mocks God is what it is supposed to be all about?
>>
>>19049890
It used to be on YouTube and I know the exact match because I also saw it and said "damn Stevie Richards was a really underrated guy". It's just him and Bob Holly having a really solid match, laying their shit in and making it look like they are actually competing. It was definitely something that Vince would have seen and liked but now I can't find that shit anywhere
>>
>>19054423
This leaves out the thing with Raven being Shane McMahon's drug dealer and originally getting fired because Shane kept calling Vince at 2am to tell him he was on drugs and hanging out with jobbers
>>
>>19056437
Trolling hard.
The fact you have to ask shows he's a good worker.
>>
>>19056605
>atypical types that are harmless and do their job right
The clue's there.
Atypical.
What does that mean typical people are like?
Harmful retards who can't do their job right.
And those people shun the harmless do-gooder because he makes them look like shit by being better than them.
I'm not necessarily talking about in-ring technicals or killer promos, I'm talking mainly about work ethic and mentality.
In a business infamous for backstabbing selfish carnies doing their absolute best to get the most by working the least, Stevie's the guy who's honest, helps others before himself, and is happy to put others over.

Warrior was shunned because he was unfuckwithable and too crazy for the business.
>>
>>19057292
All that Stevie thought was "hey, my buddy does Christian rock, Shawn likes rock, Shawn says he's Christian... Hey, they could be a tag team. I'm gonna hand him my buddy's CD."
For Shawn to blow a fuse over that just shows he's as Christian as a menorah.
>>
Stevie instantly proved that agent right because he proceeded to almost break his own neck in that match
>>
>>19048492

>>
>>19051065
>>19051076
i think what vince was trying to do was a dirty motivational tactic by saying "keep doing this and maaaaybe we'll get you in the main event in a couple years :)"
the reality is that stevie richards was never going to be a main eventer, bob holly never was, but if you tell them that they'll start getting sloppy and stop caring
some guys just accept it though. akira tozawa knows full well hes not getting out of the role he's in, so he just shows up, gets slapped by a woman, makes goofy faces, has a 6 minute match on main event, and then goes to the next town.
>>
>>19059480
>the reality is that stevie richards was never going to be a main eventer, bob holly never was, but if you tell them that they'll start getting sloppy and stop caring
Thank God I'm not the only one in this thread who sees this
Stevie might have been a pushover, but it's hilarious that people think he would have been a bigger star if he "just stood up for himself more", lmao
How many lifetime jobbers and midcarders in WWE didn't take shit from anyone backstage, and as a result were not only still not pushed but in some cases were even outright fired?
