>According to Bodyslam.net, Def Rebel, the in-house team responsible for producing most of WWE’s recent entrance themes, is on their final contract with the company. While there’s no exact expiration date confirmed, the current deal is expected to be their last.

>This shift comes as frustration continues to build among WWE Superstars who feel disconnected from their own entrance music. Over the last few years, fans and wrestlers alike have criticized newer themes for lacking identity, emotion, and the kind of energy that defines a superstar the moment they hit the stage.

>WWE is now expected to work with more outside artists, a strategy the company has already started experimenting with through recent collaborations with Mega Ran, Incendiary, and Adam Jones of Tool. That move signals a broader effort to bring more personalized and high-impact music back to WWE programming.

>Several WWE talents have already requested to revert back to their old themes, including Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. On the October 10 episode of SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura returned with his original theme “The Rising Sun,” and the live crowd reaction proved exactly how much entrance music still matters. Other Superstars were also allowed to use their previous themes that night, giving fans a glimpse at what may be a permanent change in direction.

>With talent speaking up and fan reactions backing them, WWE appears to finally be rethinking how entrance themes are created and who gets a say in the process. If Def Rebel is on their way out, the next era of WWE music could sound very different — and much more connected to the stars delivering it.

The next guys will be even worse. People used to hate CFO$ the way they hate Def Rebel and wanted them replaced too and look how that turned out.

even AI generated shit would be better at this point

I just want Harlem Heat and Goldust themes back.
>>
How long did Sting have his Starrcade 97 theme? Its the only time I remember it being used

looks like a has-been rockrap singer (middle) made unwanted advancements on guy (left) at a male bathhouse and his slimy lawyer (right) is using victim-blaming to escape charges
>>
They have more money than God why don't they just buy real music like AEDub
>>

I was watching the wm31 main event and sadly realized that they'd dubbed over seff's old CFO$ theme

because they don't have to

That's what I'm worried about

The modern theme music is soulless garbage. It sounds like fucking ringtones.
>>
>>19051173
Def Rebel did the Japanese Damage CTRL theme which is by far the best theme any Joshi has had in the history of the company. So they weren't all bad
>>
>>19051185
CFO$ actually had memorable music, even if some people didn't like some of it, at least it was instantly recognizable
>>
>>19051173
They should just have those royalty free nerds make them new music. They're good at doing multiple genres and they don't expect to be paid much.

next stop in the downgrading trend is going to be AI

the consistent trend is their being allergic to paying royalties, but whoever makes the slop music will still demand a cut and the cycle repeats itself. I think that's a Vince quirk that's baked into company dna

I, for one, would have made serious considerations before hiring a bunch of deaf guys to make music for my company.

Believe it or not, it's gonna get even worse

I would GENUINELY watch WWE weekly again if they got back Jim Johnston. Won't happen, so let's at least hope the next people are a huge upgrade over these shitters. Their themes actively hurt the entire presentation of the show.

bunch of nepo kikes

Even as formulaic as Johnston got sometimes, at least half the times his themes got evolved into something else over the course of a wrestler's career, like with Benoit, Batista, Stone Cold, Rock, etc. Has that happened a single time with Def Rebel?
