Ridge Holland’s WWE deal will be expiring soon.Luke Menzies, formerly Ridge Holland, announced that his WWE contract will be allowed to expire on November 14. Menzies will be sidelined for the next 6-7 months, and revealed that WWE will continue to pay for the rehab for his injury, but will not be able to work during that period. There were many fans who acted as if paying the rehab was a good will gesture. However, Ridge Holland was injured while working a TNA booking that was a part of his WWE contract. Not paying for his rehab would have been a situation that likely led to a successful lawsuit on Menzies’ part.Beyond that, reports emerged from Wrestling Observer that Menzies was on “NXT money,” which is accurate. Fightful Select has learned that Menzies original main roster deal was up in November 2024. He was offered a one-year extension at about $200,000 less than that he had been making, and accepted it. That deal is up in mid-November. We’re told that Menzies wasn’t paid extra as a part of the TNA talent exchange that saw him get injured. WWE talent that we spoke with were universally disappointed that Menzies was not being paid while injured. One veteran WWE male talent said that this would have never happened pre-pandemic.
why is everyone acting so performatively outraged at ridge holland not having his contract renewed. reddit is seething hard for some reason
>>19053086Because it's WWE. That's literally the only reason
>>19053061>not being paid while injuredStevie-esque
>>19053086we love him for kwabbing nig e
>>19053086Because when the supposed biggest company boasts about record profits and biggest gates but leaves one of their own hanging dry when they get injured, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. On one hand he should have never taken the extension with that steep pay drop either, it's basically TKO telling him to politely fuck off but if he had a financial situation, I can understand.Vince, that reddit fags have a hateboner for, never fired an injured guy - I'm like 90% sure about this. He keep them on contract.Ridge did nothing wrong, Big E should thank him for knocking the corrupting-children-on-tv level of homosexuality out of him and make him find God. Accident happen and Ridge had a share of his own injuries as well as being involved with others but it was never out of carelessness or malice. He was and is a good worker, who didn't suck on the mic and understood being what being a character on a wrestling tv show meant. Just look at this man celebrating disbanding an beloved stable on the show and becoming the booed man in NXT history. Pure joy! I hope the best for him
>>19053086He's going to be released, while injured, after performing for another company
>>19053086We love Ridge for ending Nig E's career.
When is the last time WWE had a guy work at another promotion, the guy gets injured there and then WWE leave him high and dry?
>>19053061>Here's your new contract it's 200k less>Oww ok I'll sign it thank you Kek edrones and marks in the ring are brain-dead
>>19053061Do they get paid extra for wrestling on house shows? If not then I don't see why he should get paid more for having a TNA match.
>>19053086It's just kinda fucked up because they're willing to tack injury time onto contracts but when the shoe is on the other foot they're cutting him while hurt and unable to work. Should go both ways
>>19053263It sucks that this angle led to nothing except most of the people involved getting fired.
>>19053815If they owned TNA, then sure but I don't think they do.
>>19053992They pay you the same whether you wrestle on one episode a month or four episodes a month. The TNA show was just another date for him.
never seen one of this guys matches ridge holland is a terrible name
>>19053086he got hurt on the job, normal businesses with employees instead of independent contractors would have to deal with that
>>19053824it just led to Ridge being the third wheel in Tony D's feud with Shawn Spears
