Never thought much of him as a wrestler, but I really liked his announcing in WWE and TNA and would consider him underrated and among the GOATS. He had a dry sense of humor and wasn’t afraid to make fun of the product when it was deserved, but not in a grumpy or crabby way like JR. How is he in AEW? Does he have the ability/desire to regularly make fun of the product like he did in TNA, or has he kind of turned into a shill, or a miserable SOB like JR? I can’t stomach much modern wrestling in general, and especially AEW, so I’m not inclined to check it out for myself, but I’m curious.

I'm not a big Excaliber fan, but sometimes they're really funny together, especially when they're laughing at Tony Schiavone.

Taz is great as he's always been. Super funny dude. Especially unintentionally. His reactions always come across genuine. Haven't watched AEW regularly in a few months now but I'd always be less interested if the commentary team didn't have him on there. He's good at bringing out more in other commentators as well. His dynamic with pushing Cole's buttons was good. Him and Joey Styles was a lot of fun with WWECW. He's been a bright spot for AEW as well

taz during commercial breaks on aew has been comedy gold. unironically more entertaining than 90% of the show.

Cole and Tazz have got to be the most unlikely good wrestling commentary duo ever
Who would have thought putting together the orange midget wrestler from ECW and the skinny faggot backstage interviewer that got bullied by DX and the Rock, could form even a halfway-decent commentary team?
Heyman turned those two into solid gold

I unironically rank them above that era of Cole and JR.

Why were cole and jr ever together? 2 play by play guys. I cant imagine they'd have any chemistry whatsoever

Meant to type King and JR lol.

I’d say it goes:
1. JR and King
2. Cole and Tazz
3. Cole and King
4. JR and Tazz- I would’ve thought this pairing would’ve been great because I like JR better than Cole and Tazz better than King, but it just didn’t work. They called Smackdown together for like 6 or 7 months in 2008-2009. JR was pouting about being on Smackdown and was a miserable bastard the whole time, and Tazz was checked out. He left for TNA right after. Whereas I actually think King was secretly happy to not have to work with crabby ol’ JR by mid-2008 and seemed rejuvenated working with Cole.

remember when he was on Sunday Night Heat? lmao good shit

please post Tazz crying to the ring

I wonder what Joey Numbers is up to these days.
