These guys aren't superstars, nobody would recognize them if they were walking down the street
>>19095735Cody Rhodes has certifable B list status and with his bit in Street Fighter, it's all uphill from here. Hopefully he has a good agent.
>>19095745That's a "Star" at best, and a weak one, Cawdy would never get recognized anywhere outside of America
>>19095755Getting recognized outside of America isn't even remotely important.
>>19095766That's how i'd cope if i wasn't a superstar ( who get recognized outside america )
who is a superstar nowadays?
>>19095781In wrestling? Cena, The Rock, and that's pretty much it, there's a small case for Roman and i won't laugh at your face if you say Rhea, but that's it.
Popular culture and the overall zeitgeist have become too fractured under the weight of the internet for there to ever be another mainstream pro wrestling star on the level of Hogan, Austin, or even Cena. This problem is not exclusive to professional wrestling. We've been over this ad nauseum, you're not breaking new ground with this topic.
>>19095773Doesn't change the fact that America is the only country that matters.
>>19095785in everything not just wrestling. remember when bad bunny did a match and barely anyone knew who he was
>>19095735Mick Foley's autobiography has a big rant about how the term "WWF Superstars" was stupid for that exact reason. Even when he was a main eventer, it's not like he was getting hounded by paparazzi or anything. Then he told a story about a rib he pulled where all of the WWF wrestlers were on a flight, and he had the flight attendant say over the intercom, "Thank you for flying with us, WWF Superstars...and Al Snow."
>>19095735Swerved season 2 really exposed how absolutely no one has any star power. They went out in public to prank people (because season 1 proved no one in the roster could handle getting ribbed) without a disguise and no one recognized any of these fucks
>>19095735"Superstar" is just Vincespeak for "professional wrestler" and they call all of their wrestlers that, it is almost never reflective of reality. The closest they have to an actual mainstream star these days is Roman and increasingly perhaps Cody. John Cena has already long broken into Hollywood acting and is perhaps the last real mainstream crossover star Vince made.
Some guy gave me a funny look at the grocery store and it wasn't until a week later that I realized it was Ken Anderson.
